Loved the look and feel of the boot. Fit was great except the laces were too short when laced all the way up. Could be that my legs are too big. Otherwise....perfect.

I normally wear a women's size 9 but when I ordered the 9, I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. They were floppy and huge. I really wish they came in half sizes! I am going to return the 9 and order an 8 to see if I can make those work.

Ordered these from Zappos thinking i would get them the next day. The next business day. I am a VIP. I get stuff the next day VIA UPS. But unfornately, it was delivered by an Amazon delivery drive and the box was left down at the loading dock. I sent them back after i eventually found it. Also it was delivered at like 7 pm. How is that a business day?

Love this color! Love the look and the softness of the leather. Sadly, I didn't listen to other reviews and purchased a 38. I need a 37 they are just too big. Size 37 is out of stock...guess I will have to wait :(

I typically wear a size 9 in American shoes and a size 39 in European shoes. I ordered the UK 6 & UK 7, the latter was recommended to me on the size chart. The UK 7 felt WAY too roomy and big, the UK 6 felt just right. I kept the UK 6, the UK 7 is being returned. My recommendation to anyone buying these shoes is buy the size that the size chart recommends and the one that is one size down to see which one fits better. Be mindful that these shoes will stretch and mold to your feet.
Other than that, so far I love this shoe. The color (purple smooth leather) is delish and the style is right on. I'm currently in the process of breaking them in, which I understand can take a while but is worth it. So here we go!

I absolutely love the look of this boot. I got a pair for both me and my daughter. While she never complained hers fitting too snug, mines were very tight in the top portion of the foot area. For this reason, I have only worn the boots three times and I have had them since before Christmas. It’s very hard to make a recommendation on how to go about properly sizing the shoe because despite the tightness exhibited in the top of the foot area the width and sizing are true to size. If you don’t think this will bother you then I highly recommend buying these boots. Good luck and happy buying!

The boots are absolutely more beautiful in person. They were a little bit big, but I do not recommend sizing down (they don’t offer half sizes and I think sizing a whole size down would be too small). In my experience, wider boots tend to rub. Therefore, wearing thicker socks makes the boot more comfortable since they do run slightly big.

These were just huge. Too big shoes for me to fill. I love the concept but cannot really rock them.

I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 but the 7 felt more like 7.5 or 8 to me. Classic shoe though. I'll return and try the 6.

Doc Martens are so comfortable. Be sure to break them in. It took about a week for the leather to loosen and start molding to my foot. Love this color. Fun but not too bright.

These boots definitely need to be broken in a couple times before you consider taking them on vacation especially if you plan on walking around most of the day. I bought them for New York trip and wore them once for dinner. The front part of boot is sort of tight so I definitely still need to wear them out. This style is softer than the others. My feet didn’t get wet from the rain or snow and held up well. I love the style and goes perfect with leggings or even shorts.

it's my 1st Docs so I choose this classic and typical 8 eye model. Nappa leather feels much softer than smooth leather yet also quite styled. It's said to be Women width, so I expect it would come with a bit narrower toe, however, it's still wider than normal girls' troopa boots.

These look SO GOOD on my friend, but sadly they're not for me. The 8 felt slightly too big and the 7 was just ever so slightly too small - which is weird because I normally wear an 8 1/2 in almost everything. Maybe one day my dreams will be answered and they'll finally make these in half sizes.

The quality of these has definitely gone down. Also the soles degrade easily if you tend to drag your feet. Within 6 months the back of my soles were completely gone. The smooth leather is also more hard and not although broken in will not be as flexible or comfortable as the soft leather.

This shoe. This shoe is exactly what I hoped it would be. The style is timeless. The color is dynamic and true to the picture. The size, for me, was a perfect fit. I'm 7-7.5 US, so I went with the 7. I tried a moderately heavy wool sock with them first and have no complaints. Literally fit like a glove. The leather is a little plastic like on the outside, but inside is a true leather feel and doesn't ruin the comfort these shoes provide.

My Dr. Martens Odyssey
To set this up, I fall right between a 9.5 and a 10 in many shoe and boot brands. I take the 10 maybe 60% of the time and the 9.5 40% of the time. Also, like many others, I had a pair of made-in-England smooth black leather Dr. Martens that I wore to death from about 1992 until about 1999. I think they were a US Women’s 10, but I can’t remember. Don’t know why I got it in my head to get a new pair of Docs but I did, and this is my story.
1. Read lots of reviews everywhere and ordered the “Pascal” model from Amazon in the purple with a gold metallic design, women’s US 9. They were too big. I didn’t look to see where they were made before I returned them.
2. Ordered Dr. Martens 1460 W in cherry red Arcadia from Zappos in US Women’s 9. They fit okay in the foot bed but they looked really wide. This pair was made in THAILAND. I returned them.
3. Ordered the 1460 W in black patent Lamper from another website across the pond. They were not made in England, however, but CHINA. (I didn't think they'd be made in England; they just happened to be a little less expensive.)
4. After I received the ones made in China from the other retailer, I ordered the same pair from Zappos. Same size, same color, same everything. This pair was made in VIETNAM. (I wanted to see if the Zappos pair would be less squeaky than the pair from the other retailer/made in China.)
The variety of countries that Dr. Martens manufactures their shoes in is what I think makes the sizes and the experiences with these boots vary so wildly. Even within Zappos own stock for the same pair of boots they have ones made in Thailand and others made in Vietnam.
The difference in size between the China pair and the Vietnam pair was significant, even though they were both marked as US women’s 9s in the same style. I compared the two pairs very closely and they looked the same. The pair from Vietnam was about a quarter size smaller than the pair from China, however, and they smelled noticeably chemical-ly/plastic-y. The pair from China though, as I mentioned, was much squeakier.
Well, I ended up keeping the pair made in China. I took out the Dr. Martens insoles and inserted a pair of women's Dr. Scholl’s massaging gel insoles. This made them the perfect fit. I also sprayed the insides (mostly in the toe area) with a little dry shampoo; between that and the insoles it cut down on the squeaking A LOT. Additionally I've ordered a canister of Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam because that’s supposed to help with the squeaking as well as condition and soften the boots. So far I've just worn them around the house trying to break them in so I can't yet speak to that experience or general comfort. They're definitely not the Dr. Martens they used to be but that's the way of the world these days.
As a final touch I switched out the standard laces for wide black satin laces. So cute!
The End.
(Hope this helps somebody!)

I'm pretty much a perfect 7.5 b, and the UK size 5 (US 7) fits comfortably with room for a thick sock or insole. The napa leather is very soft and stretches quickly, so no break-in period (I have to lace them super tight now). If you're between sizes, size down for sure, they will stretch. I'm glad they have the women's version now, as I have had issues wearing the men's for the last 30 years--just too wide.

For style, comfort, and durability I love these boots. They are great to wear with dresses. If you're going to be doing a lot of walking or need arch support I would recommend getting them a bit bigger and adding cushions or wearing thick socks. The style and incredible craftsmanship can't be beat!

I have very high arches so I always need to use inserts in Doc Martens. These fit well and look great, but the weather is a bit stiff so the first few wearing's made my ankles sore. Now that they are starting to break in they are fine. I could have chosen a different style to get some soft or leather but this was the color that I really wanted.

I love these shoes but I can't wear them because it is too tight at the seam! I have another pair of these, the black patent ones and they fit fine.

I love, love, love the style of these. They are beyond cute, but in a cool way. They are made of high-quality materials, too. They seem comfortable, with one exception: I have a somewhat high instep, and the seam across the bottom of the laces hurts my feet after a while. It seems to be improving as they stretch a bit, so I'm keeping them, but if you have a very high instep, they will probably not work for you. They are wider than average, which is great for my somewhat wide feet.

I got the victorian flowers pattern. I love these shoes!!! They were hell to break in, but now that they are they are very comfortable. It took me about two weeks to stretch them enough to wear them and then a few days of walking around to get them comfortable. I have really high arches and kind of wide feet, so your experience might be different. (My trick for stretching them was to put an old jar of bare minerals powder under the tightest part- it's the perfect size to stretch the arch and it won't compact like newspaper.) The shoes fit everywhere except the bottom of the tongue, and it was *really* tight there. I was worried I would have to return them, but it all worked out! I was a little concerned about the quality of the material since they weren't leather, but the canvas is really thick and the pattern is dope. I've gotten a ton of compliments! These shoes are great for cold, snowy weather. We don't mess around with the snow in Buffalo, and these keep my feet warm and dry. My only complaint is that the heel is really wide. My feet run between medium and wide width, and the heel is still really loose. The lacing helps keep my feet in place, but my heels still slip around a bit. If you've got narrow feet, these might be too big for you. I should also say don't look to my review for arch support. I haven't found a shoe yet with arch support high enough for my feet, so I'm not a reliable source for that.
