I really like these shoes. Comfort is perfect. Problem I have is every step I take the shoes squeak. I am a massage therapist and squeaky shoes aren't very peaceful.

Shoe runs small. I've always worn an 8.5, but had to size up to 9 in these shoes. I even tried a different color to be sure. I like that the rocker isn't as aggressive. I don't like it for runs. It just doesn't do much for me in that way, but I like it for walking and day to day things.

I'm not very happy with this shoe and wish I had returned it. The huge sole looks dorky, and the fit is clunky with thick edges around the top that get squished if you don't carefully slide them on your foot. I am careful with my shoes, and untie them, but these are still hard to get on fitting smoothly. I had the Ghost Max before, but these are nothing like the old ones I wore.

I do not like the Max2 Ghost as well as a regular Ghost unfortunately. My feet hurt after about 45 minutes. I keep trying to wear them but wished I would have purchased the regular Ghost I usually wear. Sorry, not my favorite

I bought the Pelican/Pelican/Black. I love the way they look and they were comfortable, but too big even though they're in my normal size. I think they have a wide fit even though other reviewers called them narrow in comparison to the previous ghost max (which I didn't have). Final note, if like me your feet tend to overheat, this probably isn't the shoe for you because I found this to be an issue. If I only needed these for walking I would've kept them, but since this was supposed to be an outdoor running shoe for me I ultimately decided to return.

I have had my ankle fused in 3 places and I'm a nurse on my feet all day long. Ghost max shoes were amazing the only thing that didn't hurt my feet. Ghost max shoes don't even begin to compare. The more cushion almost feels like hoka shoes which were awful for me and then the toe box in these shoes is so much smaller. My feet feel like they can't breathe at all. I can't wait to get home from working all day and get them off. Very disappointed. Please bring back the ghost max. I don't even know what shoe to turn to next :(

I loved the look of the Ghost Max 2 and was hoping they would work out. Unfortunately they've changed the toe box in the Ghost Max 2. They kill my toes. I had to send back. I had to take them off before I got home. Please bring the Ghost Max back.

I bought it because of FOOT PAD pain under the toes. Not the heal. I had to grab an insert out of my 1st purchase of Brooke shoes. Those shoes broke down after 4 months and the pain returned...but it was pretty good for 4 months of occasional wear. The new ones just weren't as cushioned as the first.

Too thick and heavy for running shoes. Great for walking, but I'm a runner

Just ok. I've ran in ghosts for about 10 years, found the ghost max and loved them even more. Disappointed by these a little. Very rigid feeling to me in comparison to original ghost max. Hoping future updates revert back to softness of the original. Will be exchanging ghost max 2 for another pair of original ghost max.

Love that Brooks is now carrying women's size 11.5! I am trying to work with this shoe. I have very sensitive feet:( It's not as comfortable as the original Ghost Max, feels firmer and the underfoot feels bumpy and annoying under my foot. Brooks runs small for me, some brands I can wear an 11, but in Brooks I definitely need an 11.5 I tried a men's 10 in the original but I have a narrow heal so the heel slipped. The Glycerin 21 is the most comfortable shoe I own, fits me perfectly but the 10mm drop starts to hurt my forefoot if I wear it for too long. I was pretty excited when I saw there will be a Glycerin Max, but sadly it looks like it's got a really high stack:( Too much for me. I'm hoping the Ghost Max 2 will break in and soften up.

For context, I am 130lbs and run 20-30 miles per week. Unfortunately, I am sending mine back due to fit. I LOVE the Ghost Max 1 and I was super excited about these new color ways with the Ghost Max 2. I am bummed. The Good: New colorways are great The nitrogen infused sole is an improvement over the Ghost Max 1 The Bad: The new toe box is cramped. I wear an 8.5 regular in the Ghost Max 1 and I feel I need a 9 wide in these. The upper on the Ebony (which is so beautiful) is very constrictive and not as breathable as the Ghost Max 1. Suggestions to the Brooks design team: bring back the upper material and roominess of the Ghost Max 1 with the nitrogen sole and colorways of Ghost Max 2 for a perfect shoe.

These shoes are not nearly as soft as I had hoped and this particular shoe runs very short. I was so excited to get them. My original Ghost max were awesome. These fell very short for my money.

I ordered a full size larger than my street shoe size and my toes still rubbed against the front of the shoe. My past purchases of Brooks Ghosts were roomier with a wider toe box. This toe box is narrow and low and the shoe is incredibly undersized. I don't understand why Brooks can't follow traditional shoe sizing. It would make purchasing SO much easier.

I am a long time fan of the Dyad. I have two prosthetic hips and this style worked great with my very thick custom orthodic. I always purchased two pairs at a time. Since it is no longer being made, the Ghost Max2 was recommended as being comparable. I decided to try it. I just don't find it as a comparable alternative. First, I am not a fan of the thick cushy sole, which I could overlook. However, I could not deal with the rocking sole. This just doesn't work well with my orthodic. If you have any size 8 Dyads in your warehouse, please let me know.

I usually buy the Ghost line in wide, as much as I wanted to like these, I found the Max line to be over padded to the point where I wasn't able to move my toes freely even though I ordered it in wide. The shoe does feel nice and comfy maybe I'll try it again in extra wide.

I purchased these shoes because I am in retail and I am on my feet all day. I ordered them a half size larger and they fit exact. I wore them to work anyway and was barely able to make it through the shift because The pain was so bad. I immediately sent them back. Now I'm wondering if I should try the in the next size up, since I've heard so much about them. I just don't know if I could take another day in intense pain.

These are too squishy and feel unstable. These aggravated a past knee injury just walking on carpet for 10 minutes. I returned them.

I normally wear a size 6, but lately I'm having a problem with most shoes because of a bone spur on the top of my foot. Until I get that taken care of no shoe fits!

It was different from the previous one. (I have to wear an extra wide size). This one is too tight.

I would return but I removed the insoles for my high arch power step. I will stick with glycerin from now on.

I hate it. I need my Dyads back. These feel like I'm walking on a firm marshmallow. And they aren't wide enough in the toe box.

Brooks has broken my heart on this one. The Ghost Max 2 feel like they should fit my feet and they were fine for short mileage. But now that I am nearly halfway through my training block (and outside any return window) these shoes are hurting my right like no other running sneaker has before. I have started developing strange hotspots, new blood blisters, and a very upset pinky toe. I have tried different lacing patterns, moleskin....etc... but once I get 7 or 8 miles into my run, just something about this shoe rubs the wrong way. Ghost Original: Golden! They were my go-tos for long runs and my race day shoes for my first two full marathons in 2024. I went through a couple of pairs of the 8 wides and had no issues. Now in 2025 I have a Fall marathon coming up and naturally I go to buy some Ghost Max shoes. A couple of 4 mile runs: Fine 8 miles: Eh that's painful but it's over soon. But now that my long runs are 10-20 miles, I dread having these on my feet and I am beyond hesitant to buy the Ghost Max 3. Can this get any worse? Or is the 3 more like the original? I am a bit peeved that my reliable shoe is nowhere to be found.

I've bought at least two, probobly more, pairs of Brooks Ghost Max 2s from my local running store, and they fit perfectly from the get go. So I felt confident in ordering a third pair online -- only to find them mysteriously uncomfortable in the shoe bed and tight in the toes (forefoot). Will be returning them soon, and heading back to my local running store to try again.
