I have developed a condition called PTTD where I get micro tears in a tendon that build scar tissue which shortens the tendon which then pulls on the ankle when I walk. Very painful. I'm 70 and apparently this is not an uncommon condition, particularly if you have flat feet, as I do. I've been wearing other Brooks shoes, but switched to these when the situation got worse. I spoke w/a customer service rep who said these were the most supportive shoes. They are really quite incredible. Been wearing for around 3 weeks and pain has dramatically lessened which means my ankle is being better supported when I walk so the tendon isn't being overly stretched and tearing! So grateful since I've been on vacation and walking about 3 miles a day. Many thanks to Brooks which makes such a commitment to foot/leg health!

This is my second pair of Brooks. I bought a half size longer and am glad I did. They run short. They are comfortable and I love the color.

So far I love this shoe! For the first time, even after "professional" fittings, I have been recommended the right shoe. I usually suffer from extreme shin pain, my feet roll to the anterior sides. These shoes have provided relief and I am able to walk long distances pain free. I have not yet tried running in them. I hope they continue to be my shoe! I have had the Ghost, Adrenaline, and Glycerine. Never have I used a wide Brooks shoe. The only reason I give them a 4 is because the black/ ebony are purple, definitely not black. Thanks to the Shoe Shack in Dubuque for the help!

If you are in top physical condition or just want to wear these for limited outings on flat surfaces these may work for you. I wore Brooks Ariel's for decades without any problems. Recently they redesigned the shoe to sit on a platform of squishy gel. This design no longer provides the stability or support of the original Ariel's.

I have worn several different Brooks shoes. Ariel GTS is by far the most comfortable. It has a great cushion and great support. I am 84 years old and I recommend them for any senior who enjoys walking. I just wish they came in more colors.

Way too small. Second Brooks in a row that felt that way, after years of consistent sizing with different models.

These are my go-to shoes. I need extra support due to having pronation, and these have been really helpful in preventing that.

I am not a runner but have been looking for comfortable, supportive sneakers because I do walk a lot. These are the best I have found. Cushioned, supportive, roomy toe box. I can wear them all day and no complaints. Bought 2nd pair just in case. Wish they came in more colors.

I've been wearing Brooks Ariel shoes nearly everyday for decades and loved them. However, this edition runs wider and longer than the usual size I wear (8B) and they are not comfortable. I feel like I'm wearing someone else's shoes. It feels like a quarter size bigger. I doubt sizing down would work. Very disappointed. I hope they go back to making Ariel like they used to.

I have neuropathy and like that the Ariel GTS24 feels supportive without being overly restrictive like the Adrenaline GTS24. I'm able to wear my orthotics and it doesn't hurt my metatarsals. That being said, I took away a star due to the lack of colors. The beige color looks like ugly ortho shoes. I need the 12 mm depth and I don't have much choice since Brooks changed the Glycerin and I haven't been able to wear them since the Glycerin 20s of which I fortunately have a few pairs left. These were my perfect shoe and so comfortable. They had amazing color options too. I would like white in the Ariel and perhaps pink. It's not the Glycerin 20 but will have to suffice until something better comes along. There is enough room in the toe box and it fits true to size. It's firm without being too hard.

I love the feel and fit of the Ariel GTS 24. My first pair was a pretty teal blue and I liked that it had color but wasn't too wild because I like to wear them for everyday use as well as exercise walking and some running. They don't look clunky and don't make my feet look big. I decided to get a real neutral shade next so I got a greyish beige style. Most recently I got the Mercury/ebony/sweet lavender and this is my favorite color so far. Very neutral overall but the lavender part adds a lot of style. They are a very supportive, stable shoe which is important to me as I am in my 70s and need that. The only negative is that this most recent shoe did not have the same type of shoelaces as the first two pairs. Those laces stay tied even when you don't double-knot them. The laces on the newest pair are flatter instead of round and I always worry they will come untied if I don't double knot.

I have worn the Ariel style for years. Very supportive and comfortable. My only complaint is that for years the color choices have been too conservative, even ugly! I know others have also made this comment. How about giving us some pretty or sporty color choices as you have done for the other styles! We pay a premium for this shoe, but yet color choices are pretty basic or ugly looking compared to your other styles. Not fun to wear! I would buy more to match various outfits instead of one pair each season if there were more color choices. It is never fun to pick out a new pair when the colors are a basic black or grey most times. People never really notice or compliment me about them---I think you would sell more it they were more attractive. Comfort and support are important, but they should be fun to wear!

My last purchase of Brooks (several yrs ago) were a tad narrower than the ones I bought a few yrs before that. So, taking into account some reviews I went ahead a ordered extra wide. In this style that was just a little too wide. Returning for regular wide. The sand color is very nice and the shoe is well made and cushion-y. The GTS system is the support I need and the heel is not too wide.

I wish they would just hurry up and restock the Addiction GTS extra wides in black. They are the best shoes I have ever had. The gray ones are unnattractive but I will have to order them again because the fit is unbeatable. These Ariel GTS's are a good color but the toe box is narrower and the length is just a smidge shorter. My big toe pushes into the fabric of the outer shell of the shoe. It is so hard to find decent extra wide shoes, and when you do they stop making them. Why??

When I inserted my arch support orthotics the heel support was too low on my heel to feel comfortable and supportive.

These are ok. I have very wide feet and struggle with running shoes for that reason. The toe box on these is not as wide as the toe box on the Ariel GTS 23, so it is not quite as comfortable. They do feel a little lighter than the 23 version.
