Fit and size were as advertised. BUT, the short tongue also continues to be an annoyance. These shoes are very good for stabilizing my somewhat compromised back, as well as accommodating the fact that I am "vertical" (i.e. on my feet) the majority of the day. In addition, at 75 yrs old with bunions and arthritis and all of the somewhat "ordinary" (?!) maladies of my age, these are my go-to shoes for every day wear, as well as the average 2+ mile dog walks on residential asphalt for the most part. I buy 2-3 pair twice a year to rotate and keep the insoles fresh.
As others have asked ... MAKE MORE INTERESTING COLORS, PLEASE!!

Wanted to love these but they were too short. I ordered my usual size and my toes were hitting the front of the shoe. I have been wearing the Adrenaline GTS for years but recently I have been disappointed so I decided to try a new style. I think a half size up would be better for me in the Ariel GTS 24 but I'm too lazy to reorder and pay shipping again.

I have relied on the Ariel for several years for comfort, light weight and attractiveness. Now there is no choice for colors. I'm afraid to order another pair because of the reviews I've seen here, the price and lack of colors. I am going to explore other brands because Brooks has little to offer.

Unfortunately, the shoes feel as if they are at least one size too large all around. I bought a pair last year that was too tight. I have been buying the Ariel version for more than 10 years and I have had a problem only in the last two years. The Brooks guaranty was excellent last year, they replaced the defective pair with a second pair that worked well and I donated the the original pair of tennis shoes as they suggested. I feel bad about returning the last pair because this will be the second time, but I find myself using the old ones that I did not want to use anymore.

The sneakers are true to size. They have a good-size toe box which I like, don't like my toes squeezed. I exercise 5 hours a week; and they hold up very well. We run and jump in our class. I do not feel the impact when my feet hit the floor or ground. Please do not change the sole type on this shoe as it holds up well unlike the Caldera whose sole has been changed (nitrogen infused ??). I had been wearing both the Ariel and Caldera for exercising, but now I am only waring my Ariels. Please do not change the sole type on the Ariel. I would be very happy if you reverted to the previous sole type on the Caldera. Thank you.

Love, LOVE this shoe! I have always had problems with proper fit having wide feet, and experience foot pain with every pair of shoe I have ever owned, except these! Highly recommend!

Very pleased with Ariel GTS 24. It's very comfortable and not a heavy sneaker.

I have worn the Ariel shoe for years. The shoes fits good and helps with my flat feet. The only problem I have with these is the shoe is squeaky when you walk. The last pair I had did the same thing. I ended up buying a different shoe. Ive tried all the things I know like baby powder. Its annoying to be walking around and all you hear is the squeaking.

Been wearing Ariels for years as my go-to shoe. At one point I felt they were getting tight and went up half a size to accommodate a deeper orthotic. Overall the shoe seems about the same as previous years with some minor differences. I have two complaints .
1) the toe box feels a little tighter from the top. Perhaps a tighter or more taut material? It may be slightly more narrow but I still feel like I have enough space perhaps because I wear a half size larger in this shoe.
2) the black is not black. Its dark grey in the new shoes.
Overall solid comfy supportive shoes. Wish they offered more colors.

This is the shoe I didn't know I needed. I wanted a softer feel under foot for my old, tired, flat, over pronating feet and initially tried a different Brooks model, but although wonderfully soft, it lacked the support I needed. Consultant at the Brooks help line recommended another model, but that one also seemed to lack the support I needed. Although described as a firm shoe, I decided to try the Ariel. The Ariel feels supportive through the entire length of my foot. It's not a plush, soft feel, but a comfortable and supportive feel. Due to my low arch and over pronation, most shoes lack support I need in the mid foot and this shoe is the only one I have found that has support exactly where I need it the most, without feeling hard. I have a wide ball and narrow heel and ordered my usual size in a wide width, which I don't normally do because wide width shoes are always too wide in the heel and mid foot, but this shoe hugs my heel and mid foot while giving the ball of my foot the room it needs.

I purchased a size seven wide and was honestly a little disappointed with the shoe. I had heard a lot of hype about Brooks shoes, but these didn’t feel comfortable to me at all. The length fit perfectly, but the wide width felt much too narrow—my feet felt compressed along the sides. Overall, the shoe felt pretty stiff and didn’t seem as cushioned as described in the product details. For me, it wasn’t worth the price, and I returned them promptly.

There is an issue in manufacturing. The tongue part of the shoe was to narrow and did not cover the right side of the opening.

I love this shoe, it's very supportive for me ergonomically. I have a somewhat fragile back (degenerative disks) and some other disorders <-- all of which I manage by long-walking. These shoes are critical to my pain management and exercise. BUT I do wish they would a) lengthen the "tongue" so that I can manipulate it when necessary and b) lengthen the laces a little bit, too and c) please, please add at/change at least one color!! I get tired and bored with just 1 black and (usually) 2 shades of white.
I'd also recommend:

These shoes were great out of the box for a neighborhood 2 mile walk. I go up 1/2 size usually and I did with these and it worked.
Very comfortable and I better get another pair! I'm 65 and bought these for everyday walks.

Brooks Ariels are my favorite shoes. They are perfect for my feet and fortunately come in an extra wide width which allows me to walk without bunion pain. Toe box is very wide and counter is deep enough to accommodate the small shoe lift I need on one side for unequal leg length.

I love the Ariel GTS 24 colors and design. I have problems with my arch and the Ariel GTS provides the needed support so I can run pain free.

This is the most supportive and best fitting shoe I have ever owned. I am 80 and don't run much but the stability this shoe adds to my walk is fantastic! I have a high arch and an unstable right ankle but these shoes support my arch and add unbelievable stability to my walk. Thank you Brooks.

FINALLY found a pair that relieves my footpain!! With the suggestion from my PT we went through different pairs and THIS one really made my feet/legs feel light and lessened pain. Makes my gait more balanced and able to stand at work long without flaming up my plantar fascitis. Straightening up my hip problem as well. I am very impressed with this pair. Looking tonget another to keep!!

I have been running in Brooks Ariels for almost 20 years. I pronate and have had plantar fasciitis several times from not wearing appropriately supportive shoes. These are the only shoes I have used that work. They're not the floatiest of shoes, but that's a fair trade off to avoid injury.

I've been wearing Adrenaline shoes for years, because I thought that was the maximum support I could get in a Brooks shoe. I have very flat feet, and also tend to over-pronate as I walk. Make no mistake, the Adrenaline is great, but for me personally, the Ariel is even better. I could feel the difference in the wider base, extra support, and increased stability as soon as I put the Ariel on. these really do help me feel more stable as I stand, walk, and run, while still offering a great combination of secure fit that doesn't pinch. I do notice that these are just a little heavier than the Adrenaline, but that's okay. That tiny bit of heaviness is a small price to pay for the increased stability and support. If you love Adrenaline shoes but need that bit of extra support, (especially if you have flat feet and/or over-pronate), I very highly recommend these!

First, I am not a runner because I have arthritis in a hip. I do walk at least 2 miles outside. I was wearing another brand of shoe that was "cushy" but did not keep my foot from turning inward when I walked. The minute I put on these shoes, my gait changed and my feet and hips felt so supported. Please keep making these with the same support and in more colors!!
