The shoes are not black, they're more like a navy color. They fit nice- but I was expecting a black color.

In the last 5 years, Brooks has been my go to shoes. But this pair hurts my left outer foot, so bad, I don't wear them much. The right I have no problem with. I normally would order Brooks Arial 20 in an 8 Wide, never had trouble. Maybe this particular shoe is not the replacement for what I normally get, I am open to suggestions.

The Ariel 20 was the last reliable edition of this sneaker after a decade of use. It's devastating for an active wide-width walker. The insole on this edition is dramatically alteredflat and hard and I actually ended up replacing them with the much cushier and comfortable old model insole. The frame of the shoe barely matters now that I understand how much the insole defined the comfort of the shoe. No longer a loyal customer.

So disappointed in these shoes! They're uncomfortable even when not standing. I size up half size in running shoes so I can use insert. These are too small for that. Too tight and hard in toe box, press on big toes, too hard interior heel; feels like no cushion at all, have to lace too tight to keep heel from slipping. I loved my addiction and my trace and my ghost but these are unwearable - so exhausted with having to return to companies I could previously depend on to get it right. Why make it smaller and harder when the description says "most cushioning" and calls it similar to the Addiction?

Great fit for a wide forefoot because of baby toe bunion. Good cushion. Always wear Brooks neutral. Ghost 15 was perfect but not 16. Decided to give GTS a try. Ariel fits similar to Ghost 15. But it forces my feet to land in an unnatural way. Ended up with severe pain in one foot/ankle that's easily injured. Other foot was OK. Will stick to neutral. Brooks you rock -- exceptional customer service and return policy.

Disappointed because something in the shape of the shoe bed caused the tip and side of my big toe to press up against the shoe. I tried 11 w and 12 w and it happened with both even tho the 12 was loose. Otherwise it was a comfortable shoe. I wear Adrenaline 22 GTS and this doesn't happen but I am hoping a different shoe will help decrease knee and hip pain.

These were a waste of money. Once I wore them for a couple days, the shape of the toe caved in creating a pressure point on my large toe. This caused pain, soreness. The shape will not stay back where it should be. After a week and a half the area over my other toes caved in. Now I can’t return them since they’ve been worn. I can’t wear them due to the continued discomfort.

I received the shoes. Had been wearing inside to make sure they were comfortable. First time I went outside I noticed THEY ARE BLUE with black trim. Very disappointed.

Comfortable shoes with great fit. However, the soles of the shoes make noise on hard surfaces and shoe laces are too short.

I must say I was very disappointed by this upgrade in Ariel GTS24. I made a switch to Ariel GTS23 from Adrenaline GTS in 2023 due to Adrenaline line becoming narrower and less supportive of foot/ankle in an effort to shave the weight. Ariel GTS23 was a superb shoe, my feet and ankle felt so stable and grounded as the shoe hugged my feet firmly. It was a bit heavier but not a big deal. I bought Ariel GTS23 twice and have run 3 marathon races in them, and retired one at 380 miles. When the second one was due for retirement, my size was no longer available anywhere on the internet. So I bought Ariel GTS24 a month before my marathon race. I ran a 5k race, a few 3-6 milers, a 13-miler and a 18-miler. The shoe sole was hard as rock, the shoe tongue was rubbing the front of my feet, and my ankle didn't feel the stability of being hugged by the shoe as GTS23 did before. After the 2 long runs, my feet were sore and my knees were in pain. I had to stop running for 2.5 weeks and just went to a race without putting in a 20-miler, which I always do before a marathon race. I knew my feet and legs would be destroyed if I did. I ended up running the marathon race in my retired Ariel GTS23, and they did great for me. No foot pain or knee pain. I don't know what Brooks did with Ariel GTS24. I'm returning this shoes. I contacted Brooks and they recommended me to go back to Adrenaline GTS24 if I wanted to have the same support I had with Ariel GTS23. What?! So yes, I'm temporarily going back to Adrenaline GTS24 WIDE (because Adrenaline has gotten significantly narrow) and really hoping that Arial GTS25 will come with old good features.

Not sure why these shoes hurt my feet so bad but they make my toes and heels hurt. Usually, I wear Adrenalines but was referred to these. Will not buy these again and can't wear the ones I just bought as they kill my feet. I'll stick with the Adrenalines in the future. These might be great for other folks but not me.

The shoes were painful the minute I stood up and took a step ( in my home) The hard rope that runs along the top/side of the shoe goughed into my foot just below my ankle bone. . Who designed these?

I HATE the new upgrades to this go to shoe I've been buying for 8 years :( I don't recommend these anymore to anyone. The 23 and older are amazing but this new upgrade has thrown my back out and caused me more knee pain :( unfortunately, I need to find a new shoe to support my back and knee. I wish companies realized when they have a good thing going DONT CHANGE IT

Sorry--tired of writing bad reviews for my favorite shoes for decades! This model has changed a lot and not for the better--it's "evolution" has been degrading... I have always worn a size 8.5 regular. I had to return it and order a wide, this is also too narrow for my big toe! not my little toe!--never happened before!--now I am ordering an extra wide. The toe box is much shorter and narrower and the inner sole of the shoe feels flat, no arch support--not much support at all! These shoes have aggravated my previously healed capsulitis--we'll see if the extra wide works. Not sure what is up--it's definitely not my feet as the other shoes still fit. I hate to have to test buy and return a ton of other brands and models as this has been my go to shoe since the 80's marathon days, very unhappy with Brooks. (Also the colors and look of the shoe are "ugly norm core") so they lose on all points.

The updated new 24 version is horrible! It causes me pain on sides of my big toes. Previous versions of the Ariel did not cause me any pain.

I hate these shoes. They hurt my feet/ankles. The tongue is too big and slides to the side - irritating my ankles. They feel really hard on my feet too. I used to wear the Transcend but that was discontinued so now I'm searching again for another style. Hate these shoes and now I have lost my money because I wore them as the pain didn't start until an hour after which you can't know just trying them on.

I'm super upset as I was hoping this newer model would provide better support and stability and instead it's absolutely the worst ever!! I have been a ride or die Ariel shoe fan for the past 40 years--The Ariel over the years has progressively gotten less supportive and softer. The past 3 years have really gotten soft with questionable structure and support. My last few pairs barely last a few months and they are so soft and breaking down and I am barely working out in them--I am a small person. My capsulitis has come back due to lack of support and smaller toe boxes and I was hoping that this model would help but it has the least structure and support of all! its like a flat slipper!! I will be returning these. I have to try to find a better brand or model as these Brooks suck!! I'm so disappointed in Brooks!!

If you are in top physical condition or just want to wear these for limited outings on flat surfaces these may work for you. I wore Brooks Ariel's for decades without any problems. Recently they redesigned the shoe to sit on a platform of squishy gel. This design no longer provides the stability or support of the original Ariel's.

Very disappointed with the latest version of the Ariel. Runs small and extremely uncomfortable. I have been wearing Ariel for years but the last couple of versions that have come out have got me thinking of going back to New Balance. Can you please bring back the fit of the 18 or the 20. I have read many of your reviews of the Ariel and a lot of people feel as I do. Will definitely be returning.

I have only worn Ariel for a few years. But I got 2 pairs in 2024 and they both hurt my feet. I am wearing my old ones right now while the new ones sit in my closet. I'm afraid to try them again:(

I have purchased the Ariel shoe in 2E for several years. I suspect that the toe box in this 2025 shoe may be more narrow. My main concern with the shoe is that it doesn't breath and left my feet hot and caused them to swell. I returned this years model.
