I love the color, the terrific tread, the fit and comfort. I have many Hokas; these will be great for ice and snow.

I love all my Hoka shoes but needed an insulated boot that would be comfortable for plantar fasciitis. This checks all the boxes: waterproof, insulated, comfortable, great grip. And these have already gone through a 5 degree day with no problem. My feet were toasty. I normally wear an 8.5 wide and the 8.5 regular were a perfect fit. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I use these for walking in the winter. They have done a pretty good job keeping my feet warm when it is cold. I I would suggest a different type of material for the shoe strings as it is difficult to get them tight enough, more cushioning, and better grip.

I'm a 78 yr old woman without much cushioning left on the bottom of my feet. I walk in Hoka Bondi9's, size 8.5B. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I needed something for winter walking/hiking in Wyoming weather. I bought the Hoka KAHA 2 Frost GTX's for their insulation, gortex waterproofing, ankle height, more aggressive tread, but especially because they were described as having a plush ride (same description for my beloved Bondi9's). The KAHA's met all expectations except for that last, and most important, for me. They are warm in -10 degree cold, dry in snow with soft padded ankle, easy to get in and out of lacing, but they are not at all cushioned. No plush ride here, more like having a board strapped to your foot! Size seems a little larger than the Bondi9's, maybe by a half size, but that's ok - room enough for heavier socks. Just wish they were as plush as advertised. That would make them perfect and would justify the high price. If you have younger feet, you might love these...

This is my first time splurging on winter boots. While this shoe is amazing for rain and snow, it gets very slippery on ice. Perhaps these Frost GTX aren't meant for snowy weather, but I was hoping it'd work out well! Also, you don't need to size up .5 size. The exterior is hard but the inside is very roomy, unlike typical boots

These are great winter hikers (and around town), very comfortable and keep my feet warm, but they seem huge compared to my regular Kaha 2 hikers. I probably could have gone down a half size but kept them. Plenty of room for thick socks.

Bought these for a trip to Helsinki/Rovaniemi in December. These shoes were comfortable enough to wear all day walking around, and with some merino wool socks my feet stayed completely dry walking through snow/slush and stepping in the occasional deep puddle. As for the warmth, I had no problems with my feet freezing most of the trip. However, when we went to Ranua Wildlife Park in below freezing temperatures, my toes were frozen within half an hour of our 2 hour walk around the park. Might have been because we weren't walking very fast and spent quite some time standing at each of the animals' exhibit. Whereas when we went to the SnowGlow Winterpark at -23 degrees, my feet were a bit warmer while we ran around with the occasional warm up stops in the restaurant. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and plan to use these in future trips to snowy areas.

I had high hopes for these. I didn't love the style or the color but they were on sale so I gave them a go based on reviews that they were warm and good on ice. Well, they are warm and are fairly easy to put on. But I did not find them to have good traction at all, I find myself sliding around on minor icy spots. They also rub my ankles even with thick socks. Disappointed.

I am a nurse in a prison and loyal Hoka buyer. I was excited when the Kaha Frost Hiker boot came out. I thought this will be great because it will have support for all day wear and be water resistant which is great with grip as we respond to medical emergencies on the yard in tall grass or sometimes mud and then back to concrete. I pictured them being similar to the Rocket X trail. All 14 pairs of Hokas I have purchased have been amazing. I tried on the boots and when I stood up I was so disappointed due to the lack of cushioning and arch support. I felt like spending almost $280 on these was not at all worth it and returned them immediately. I received a refund in a timely manner. The other hokas are amazing. I will stick to the Rocket X trail shoes and hope they make improvements or come out with a new hiker boot line.

I really wanted to love these boots, but I have problems with swelling in my ankles and lower legs.. I cannot close the boots properly around my ankles. the top part of the boot are very rigid . If I had to walk in high snow our high water, my the upper part of my socks would get wet. I wear size 10 and brought a size 10. The footbed size is good for me.

This shoe is rated as high cushion, it is not. On pavement the heal has very little support and has a hard impact. I've tried them for several wears and my heals tolerate if there is snow or I am off pavement. I love the warmth, over-all fit, and tread grip. It was an expensive shoe to have very little cushion comfort. The Hoka chat specialist was less than helpful. Unfortunately I will likely send them back.

It's too bad they don't come in wide. I need that because of orthotics. I was just hoping they would fit because I need something warm and comfortable--will send them back.

A comfortable boot with Hoka quality but I would not say are insulated, or I would say did not keep feet warm

I gave 3 stars because the price is very high. The price does not match the quality. I bought hoka sneakers and they are really comfortable shoes. I expected the same from these winter boots, but they are tight in the ankle. I usually use size 9 (for hoka) but the boots ordered 9.5 and they only fit tightly. So order a size larger than you wear.

Bought these at the end of August for a hiking trip in October. With less than 2 months wear, the eyelet separated from the boot and they can't be tied. For the price I would expect better quality and customer service. I called to exchange and was told it will take around 30 days, if excepted. These were purchased for winter hiking.
