I received my first ASICS when I was 18 in the military. I didnt know of their existence until Uncle Sam gave me my first pair for basic training. I have worn asics for 19 years and advocated them to many people because of their quality and performance. I bought these shoes and have had them for a week to 2 weeks and the rubber spots below are peeling up. I have only worn them like 5 times and have just simply walked in them. I called ASICS and they said they wouldnt give me back my money. ASICS you have lost your way. Do not buy this shoe.

Have been on the hunt for shoes that are comfortable all day at work, im walking and standing for 8 hours and these have been perfect so far. Been wearing them everyday for a month and no more foot pain/discomfort. They were suggested by my podiatrist and he was right! They are a winner

After suffering years of chronic foot and back pain due to overpronation, i tried Asics Kayano for any time i'm on my feet. I'm on my fourth pair, and still exceedingly happy to invest in my health with these great shoes.

Love these. Ive tried a lot of different shoes for walking, that dont flair my planter fasciitis. I walk 5-6 miles a day. The last pair I tried were Hokas. These are so much better. These have the potential to be my new go-to walking shoes.

I have been purchasing Asics Kayano's for over 15 years, typically purchasing 2 pairs at time rotating sneakers for my running workouts, and run on average 4-5 miles daily 5 or 6 days per week. I use these sneakers for running and not daily wear. My latest purchase was on July 29, 2024 and over 105 days [the date I brought my attention of product defect and wear matters to Asics attention was on November 11, 2024], said sneakers excessive wear and deficiency. Consequently, I did not change my running habits, ran on like surfaces, did nothing to alter the performance of the product, and did not experience these deficiencies on previous purchases. Upon further query I was directed by a customer service representative to file a warranty claim. After completing the warranty claim process, forwarding requsite photographic evidence [which included GPS snapshots of my run and sole wear], my claim was initially denied by Asics based on "Rubber tread will wear off on treadmills due to normal use, an irregular wear patterns are not caused by the materials used in the production of the shoes but are caused by the method of contact against the users treadmill. This is an irregular wear pattern caused by the use of the shoes and not caused by the production [of] the shoes." While Asics provides the consumer no prior notice that running on a treatmill would void any warranty and no breach of warranty occurred here, I appealed this conclusion and explained that I have direct evidence which would dispute daily treadmill running activities. In fact, over the 105 day period I ran on a treadmill less than 5 times and could provide evidence to substantiate my assertion [GPS logs, mileage tracker, fitness center logs ect..]. This appeal was also denied. Among other things it was cited in their response that Asics "limited warranty is offered for manufacturing defects in a limited capacity, and sole wear is not covered by the lmited warranty. This is because every foot, stride, surface, and runnning style is slightly different and it would be impossible for us to cover every shoe for every unique person on something like sole wear, as most of the factors are outside our control." As evidenced by these responses Asics could essentially refute almost every consumer warranty claim. They are hammering a rivit into a custard pie. Consumer protection laws safeguard purchasers of goods and services against defective products and deceptive, fraudulent services. The quality of these sneakers has greatly depreciated.

These are nice walking shoes. I purchased them for a marathon. No good. I need a stability shoe with some bounce. When a good product does come through, they sell out immediately. It is apparently impossible to obtain the shoe i need. Nike manufactures the shoes. Why is there never a shoe fitting my needs available ?

Im a big guy, 6ft4 348 lbs. I have pronation issues which make my feet hurt. Ive tried what I call the big 3, Brooks, Hoka and Asics. These Asics are just as good as the Gaviota 5 Hokas. I love these Asics, they are plush and feel so good on my feet, I have zero pain.

I have ordered the last 4 years of gel-kayano. And the 31 looked awesome. They felt great. The cushion was soft and bouncy. However, it was the first gel kayano iteration that began falling apart less than 30 days of owning them. The bottom began to come unglued.

I like these shoes. This is the 3rd or 4th pair I've ordered. They fit my foot well and I don't have to spend time shopping around when the shoes are worn out. Just order another.

I wasn't expecting to like the Gel Kayano 31s; I loved the 27 and 28s, but hated the 29 and 30s. I figured the minor updates to the 31 wouldn't make a difference, but at least for me they were just what I needed. I'm a walker these days, about 2 - 3 miles every morning, and these shoes provide the comfort and support I've been after. However, I think quality could use some work. The front tread on the left shoe started coming off after just one week (!!!) of use. Fortunately ASICS warranty approved their replacement, but I hope I don't have to keep going through this on a regular basis. These shoes are WAY too expensive to have these kinds of defects!

I have used and still continue to use Asics of many models. Always very satisfied with their performance. I run 150 to 180 miles per month and I go thru lots of shoes and I can rely on my Asics all the time. I also own 1 pair Brooks and 1 pair Hoka's...but I have 4 Pairs of ASICS! ..The Gel-Kayano 31 are AMAZING, worth every penny...If you are going to RUN get ASICS.

I do not recommend the ASICS Kayano 31 due to poor quality in the soles I purchased the ASICS Kayano 31 expecting the usual high quality from the brand, but I was deeply disappointed with these shoes. The soles detach quickly, which is unacceptable for a shoe in this price range. To make matters worse, when I tried to claim the warranty, ASICS denied it, stating that it wasnt a manufacturing defect. I cannot recommend this product, as both the quality and after-sales service failed to meet expectations.

These are what my podiatrist calls gold level shoes, top of the top for my fractured big toe, cant even feel the pain in these. And they very in trend right now as chunky soles have recently been made very popular. My wife loves them too because they add 3 inches to my height. Can I wear them to a fancy dinner? No. But can I walk for days on end in these with forward progress towards my recovery goals? Absolutely
