Got it for my son starting law school. Great product. Hoping it will last! Now with the new return policy will be an interesting wrinkle.

Love the backpack, but wasn't given the option to add monogram at any point during checkout.

This back pack is a great size for high school students. My high school senior has been carrying this backpack for 4 years and it is still in great shape. This year, my freshman needed a new back pack and she wanted another brand (NF). Against my better judgement, I caved and bought it for her but, I ended up having to return it because it didn't hold all of her binders and books. I went back to LL Bean and ordered the Comfort Carry Portable Locker Pack, 42L... took a little while to receive it but when we finally did, she loves it!! It has great organizational pockets and holds everything she needs to carry everyday.

We have purchased LLBean backpacks for my kids every time they needed an upgrade - they have the smallest pre-school size through this new super huge portable locker size! Neither my high schooler nor my middle schooler are able to use lockers this year (thanks COVID!), but have to carry an insane amount of binders, text books, chromebook, pencil case, etc. Their next size down backpack, the Super Deluxe Book Pack strained to zip closed and the portable locker, has room to spare! I am incredibly thankful to LLBean for superior products offered at just the right time. The price may be steep, but with the lifetime guarantee there is nothing better! There is even a waist band on this model which helps to reduce back pain from carrying this heavy load day after day. Highly recommend, and even posted it on Facebook as a must purchase!

We purchased this backpack for our daughter. It seemed well made and we loved all of the pockets for her laptop, binder, and pencils. There was even room for her lunchbox to fit inside the bag, which is what she wanted. She has had a problem with other backpacks when the mesh side panel for the water bottle tears, and she liked that this bag has a cloth side panel so that it won't rip from her metal water bottle. However, just a couple months after she got the backpack, one of the shoulder straps tore where it attaches to the top of the bag at the seam. LLBean was great and replaced the bag for us since it was defective. Then the new bag became defective after only a couple weeks when one of the zippers kept separating and she couldn't keep her bag closed. This was also a defect, as she does not stuff her bag overly full. LLBean was great and replaced the bag again. I am happy with the customer service, but I am not happy that the quality of the bag had defects twice so I took a star off for that. For a bag that costs over $100, it should not have defects that happened to us twice.

I used it for a school year. i love the pockets and space, but there were a couple of things wrong. Firstly, the mesh fabric on the back rubbed on my clothes and pilled them. I would fix this by sewing some other fabric on top of it, but that's the main reason I stopped wearing this backpack. Second, when the bag is full (and heavy), the straps don't stay up. They slip down, then the backpack sags.

Largest volume though lunchbox area isn't ideal. Wish the lunchbox area was a zip section. Nice upgrade from kids backpack.

This is an upgrade from Deluxe Book Pack (32L) for my son. More rugged (a bit heavier) but lots of compartments. One down side is that you cannot put a monogram on it :( hence only 4 stars.

My son says he likes it overall. He does with the straps were closer together because sometimes they slip off his shoulder when his winter jacket is on. Other than that, it's a good backpack.

This was a Christmas present for my 17 year old grandson. He'd had his previous LL Bean backpack for 8 years; it was time for new one that will probably last him through college!

Teen son loves this backpack. The only problem is the llbean logo on the front peeled off after just a few months of daily use. Otherwise highly recommend this backpack for an older teen in high school who doesnt like to use a locker.

Last year my 10th grader needed a camping-style backpack to fit all of his stuff and it was super bulky. This year he switched to the LL Bean comfort carry bag and he loves it. Just enough separate space for laptop, binder, etc and the capacity is huge without looking like hes headed to the mountains for a week.

I bought this bag for my daughter and she loves the laptop space. She says it is one of the most comfortable bags to wear with a full load of books.

The pack is bigger than my old one and is very roomy. I expect it to be very durable.

For starters I dont usually do reviews but I figured Id help someone out with some pictures. I have been in college for a year and previously had a backpack that had a 30L capacity. Unfortunately my program operates with many textbooks and they arent huge fans of electronic use so we do end up carrying more textbooks than maybe the average person. I have been so fed up, jamming my laptop and textbooks into my backpack for a year. I had things so tight that I was concerned about hurting my laptop even in the laptop sleeve. Long story short, this backpack has plenty of space. It feels comfortable on your back, straps feel strong, quality of material as of now seems excellent. My only gripe, is that if your like me any you love lots of little pockets and things for organizing supplies in the front little pocket, I feel like this pack lacks a bit in that area, I wish there were more opportunities to make my favorite pencils and pens easier access, but its really no problem. Hopefully the pictures I have provided help you see how spacious it is. Definitely worth your money.

Love it! Only complaint is: no monogramming option. Have not bought a new L.L.Bean backpack in awhile and the old one, this size, had that option. I LOVE monogramming on ALL your bags.

Great bag for LOTS of stuff! This replaces a bag that I have used for the last ten years. I searched for a long time to find one that would do the job and this did it. Thanks!

This replaced an old LL Bean school backpack, and it is much more useful for (non-school) functions now, letting me carry work materials (laptop/notebook space) apart from sundries/toiletries, and random stuff all at the same time.

Very large backpack with plenty of room to carry all my dance wear plus my books.

Very sturdy and quality material. Middle school student uses it to carry her school stuff. The straps ripped off her other bag from the weight. Hoping this one can handle the heavy load better. She says it feels a lot better on her back than the other one did.
