I bought these in June at an outlet store. I walked around the store in them; the right one felt tighter. However, it was the last pair, and since the left shoe was just right, I thought the right shoe just needed to break in. I walked in them at home without a problem, so I took them on my overseas trip as my main pair. However, after only a few steps outside the hotel, my toes on the right foot started crunching and stayed that way the whole day. We checked the sizing marked on both shoes multiple times; it was 7. But the crunching would happen sooner and sooner every time I put the shoes on. My family, after my constant complaints, started comparing, counting patterns on soles, and examining seams, and they concluded that the right shoe is smallerit looks smaller. It was either incorrectly marked (which is quite common) or the shoe mold is not good. I wouldn't have written this review if I hadn't gone through the standard steps of contacting Merrell via phone and filling out a defective order form. However, even after doing these steps, Merrell didn't contact me. So I went on the website to read the reviews and saw the exact same problemright shoe being smaller. I have been a Merrell customer for many years; my whole family buys their shoes, and we have never had this kind of problem. I usually buy Merrell at this particular outlet store or online, either in size 7 or 7.5. However, after this $100 experience and Merrell's nonexistent customer service, I am not keen to buy more of their products.

I followed the fit and sizing guidelines on the page. When the shoes arrived I tried them on. The left fit perfectly but the right was too short, so I exchanged them for a half size larger. When those arrived, both shoes were too short. I returned them for a refund. The support people were helpful. One suggested I try another whole size larger. I have worn Merrell shoes for years and have enjoyed them, but the inconsistent sizing is an issue for me. I live in a small rural town and need to use the online shopping much of the time. Returning the parcels means a drive to town each time. I think these shoes would be just what I am looking for. Next time I am in a larger town perhaps I can find a pair and try them on.

Love these shoes! Bought them for a work shoe (nurse) and have found them so comfortable! I have received MANY compliments on them. Love the barefoot sensation. I know my feet will appreciate it in the long run!

Love the look, but WAY too narrow. Haven’t had this issue before with Merrell, so I’m sad about it.

Left shoe had a very uncomfortable hump at the arch… cute though.

Far too large in my size. Leave well enough alone.

Nice shoe. Love the Paloma color. But be aware, even though they say order 1/2 size down, this shoe was too short for me. I normally have to wear an 8, but after exchanging I had to size up to an 8.5. I admit I do have long toes, but not freakishly long!

Light weight, flexible and good grip. Perfect for the gym and walking

These are the most comfortable outdoor shoe I have worn in years. They are maybe the perfect shoe. If you spend time outside you want these on your feet.

Honestly, from my vantage point of looking down at the top of the shoe, they look misshapen. The toe box is very wide, and the shape of the right and left don't really match. I have a narrow foot but the heel fits well. I think they will do what I need them to do, but they are my least favorite of the many, many Merrell shoes that I have owned.

I LOVE THAT THESE SHOES LOOKS SHARP AND COOL AND ALL WEATHER. I WORK IN MAINTENANCE DEPT SO I AM IN AND OUTSIDE IN ALL THE WEATHER. SO I NEED SOMETHING TO HOLD UP IN ALL WEATHER AND FROM COLD TO HOT.

I didnt think I was going to keep these, but after wearing them in the house for two days, they became very comfortable. Alternated between these and the trail glove, I had plenty of traction and support for walking thru some of the national parks. We did not do any heavy hiking, but these were the perfect shoe for me to wear.
