These are very supportive (about as supportive as a sandal can be) and comfortable out of the box. The soles are cushioned, but not sloppy. The outsole is grippy, and there is a pretty good amount of adjustability in the straps. They are quite stable, for a sandal, and they are water friendly. I do wish they came in half sizes. Shoes this expensive should. The advice from Taos is for half sizes to size up, but why should we have to wear a shoe that is too big? So I stuck with the 7, which is how Taos translates a euro 38. It's tad small, like a 7, but I know that a 39/8 would be big, because I need a 7.5. I have bunions and these sandals live in relative peace with them. I wish there was a tan footbed option rather than black, because black always highlights the shape of my feet, which is not something I want to be so obvious. However, I cannot be picky because a sandal that I can wear even for a short time is gold dust, so I am keeping these. In all, a very good sandal.

Sadly I had to return these. I just couldn’t tighten the straps enough for my narrow foot.

Fit and size good. My concern is thst the footbed at arch is showing wear after only a few hours of wear. I literally received them yesterday and have worn them around the house today for four or five hours. My other Taos shoes have worn like iron, is this footbed supposed to do this?

Sadly the velcro strap dug into my foot w/ each step. I LOVE this brand and have at least 6 other styles so I know it's a quality product generally, but this one was a miss for me. Aesthetically I also think it is an unfortunate choice to put a black foot bed...that being said, I can see the reasoning cuz usually sandals get blackened by feet so maybe that choice is to combat the inevitability of that...?

Ordered probably 10 different brands/models of shoes looking for water / boat -ready sandals with arch support. Avid runner so arch support was my main goal with these. And, just wanted to be sure they would stay on in rivers / lakes (tubing, wading, etc.) and at beach / barrier islands where oyster shells are an issue. These were great for both and plenty of grip for the boat too. They've lasted a full year now - still in great shape after a full beach summer, several adventure trips, etc. Taos and aetrex are my go to for arch support sandals.

I struggle to find sandals that can support my problem feet. I have very little padding so the extra cushion in the footbed is PERFECT! I also have bunionettes on the outside of my feet and the ability to adjust these takes the pressure off. I have been living in these shoes all summer and bought a second pair. Planning to get yet another!

I usually wear size 6.5 or 7 and ordered a 7M. They are perfect right out of the box! There are multiple ways to adjust the straps. The arch is supportive and the base is sturdy. Looking forward to exploring with my new Taos sandals.

I'm living in these sandals, they are so comfortable on my problem feet! I wasn't sure about the all black design, but it's grown on me. I love the adjustable straps and am planning to wear them in Europe in September. The real test will be how secure they feel on cobblestone and uneven terrain.

I wanted to love these because they were made well and looked good. However, the strap rubbed across the top of my ankle and I could tell that they wouldn't be able to be worn for extensive walking. There was also a bit of rubbing by the toes.

I love these sandals. I got them to wear on long walking days in place of my Hokas, which are wonderful, but not very well suited for hot weather.
I was very pleasantly surprised. These sandals are well made, with great cushion and bounce as well as outstanding arch support. Highly recommended.

I love these sandals. Cute, comfortable, great arch support. Only thing I didn't love was that they are kind of like a platform - much thicker soles than any of the other sandals I tried. Since I am looking for a hiking sandal, I was worried that this might cause me to roll my ankle or something like that. I ended up going a different way, but really considered these. I still love the Taos brand (I have boots, sneakers and 2 other sandals) but just not for hiking.

Wore these quite a bit while on holiday in Croatia. Excellent support and I like the multiple colors on the straps.

Ran too wide for me. Love the look.
I need a more neutral arch.

Although i couldn’t pull the ankle straps tight enough for my narrow feet, i decided to bring them to my local cobbler. They created a longer Velcro ankle piece so I could tighten the strap more. Worked like a charm, and for $20, TOTALLY WORTH IT. I’ve had them for a year now. Shoes are super comfortable and perfect for summer on city streets, on a boat, or on the beach. Your narrow feet will thank you!

These are probably very comfortable for most people, but I have hallux rigidus and need a higher arch support. I bought these because, after reading the reviews, I thought they would work, but they didn't. I need a stiffer shoe with a high arch.

Nice, sturdy, supportive hiking and walking sandals but the nylon upper straps seem of lesser quality than the rest of the shoe and are kind of short, making it harder to adjust the shoe to fit properly. Taos looks like they're trying to create a competition to Chaco. They are close, but it needs some more work. Will be returning and trying the Taos Super Side.

Almost returned these due to the stiff straps especially on one foot … but lined one with literally a band aid and after a few wears they softened up and I love them. So much I’m buying another color. Taos should address the straps as these are super comfortable shoes.

Very comfortable sandal. Good padding and adds a bit of a lift to my short height. 'm sizing down to see if the straps feel better. But could have gone with my regular size as well. I may have the straps shortened to provide more velcro grip on the straps. Being able to adjust the forefoot and the ankle is very helpful. I like having a bit of a lift with the thicker sole. I can walk in these without irritating plantar fasciitis or arthritic metatarsal joint. So that's a win. I thought they might look "clunky" on, but I don't think they do!

Love this brand, typically great arch support, but the straps on this sandal were much too narrow, and despite the fact they are adjustable,
did not work with my bunion.

I wanted to love these! BUT I have a hammer toe and the toe strap hit it straight on. They also felt stiff to me. I will go back to my Keen Astoria sandals. Thanks Zappos, for your patience!

I have purchased Taos sandals in this size in the past. This sandal is at least 1/2 size smaller. I returned for the next size up.

Unfortunately, it was a little bit small for me. I wish it was in half sizes. So that’s the reason I had to return it. Otherwise I love the shoe. It was very comfortable.

First, because Taos sizing is confusing, I will say that I got a size 8, which is a Euro 39 and fits me perfectly as someone who wears 8.5 M street size. I now need shoes with good arch support, as my feet have become flat with age, and these are extremely comfortable. I'm going to wear these over my platform Tevas, which have always been my go-to summer travel walking/hiking and possibly swimming shoes. The Taos sole is flexible (Tevas are not), and the support is fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing how these hold up. I got the black, which can also be more dressed up if needed.

Straps are stiff out of the box, but a trip through the washer fixes that. So far they are comfortable. I’m a 7.5, got the 8’s. A little long but I think the 7’s would have been too short.
