Docs Rock - Can't beat a good Dr. Marten boot. I have 6 pair of Doc's that I have purchased since 1995. They are all still going strong and by far the most comfortable boot made. Thank you Zappos for providing such a high quality boot at a comparable price. FYI: Was at Dillards the following day after I ordered these, and I paid less through Zappos.

My first pair of Doc's! Took me about a half day to break in. These are the most comfortable pair of leather boots I have ever had. Zappos had them delivered within 2 days. I will purchase another pair of Doc's and get them through Zappos. A really good experience all around. Thanks!

The best - Docs are the best. They don't have to be broken in. They are broke in when you put them on the first time. These are stiff boots. If you work them like a new baseball mit they will be fine. Zappos are the best.

Just like the original bouncy sole - Do not under any circumstances try to break these in with out serious thought. Dont just go hiking around in new boots because you will be in pain, I mean blisters. Oil and break in gradually and they'll be a dream. This is my fifth pair.

The classic - This was my first pair of Docs, and although they're taking a while to break in (my ankles, I fear, may never fully recover) I still absolutely love them. The first time I wore them was in a blizzard and except for the whole not broken in thing, they did very, very well. They're a little big, but it's my fault for buying a half size bigger than I needed. So, in conclusion, these shoes are absolutely amazing for crappy weather and they're pretty versatile. I'm not really "punk" or "goth" or anything like that, and they still go with pretty much anything.

Great fit! These are probably the best fitting shoes I have ever owned, and I would definately buy them again, although I don't really know how long that will be since my friend has a pair that are five years old and still look great! :)

The waffle sole. I've always liked they way the waffle sole feels, but I don't like the way it looks with this style of boot. Maybe if they could just make the whole thing black it would look better to me.

Dr. Martens 1490 Series - I love these boots. They are the third pair I have owned. The previous two pair lasted about 4-5 years each. I was delighted to find a source for them as they are not commonly stocked in local shoe stores.

Punk to Goth - in between & outside - From Mod, to Punk, to Goth and everything in-between and outside (in the mainstream), Dr. Martens are my foot attire of choice. I've been wearing them for years. Dr. Martens can be stiff and tough to break-in, but once the leathers conform to your foot, they fit like a glove and with proper care, will last for years. The Air Wair sole is amazing and must be worn to believe the comfort. Once they do wear out, simply replace the sole with a new one. Thanks to England for giving Dr. Martens the chance to develop a revolutionary comfortable sole and upper that has become truely iconic.

My First Pair of Docs - I'm 27 now...all of my friends wore docs back in high school, and loved them...its later for me, but I needed a pair of motorcycle boots, and one of my friends suggested these...The truth is that they are really not that hard on the feet at first. I'm sure after break in they will feel even better. I've had them for 4 days now, and have worn them almost every day. No blisters...and I'm used to wearing Vans (the most comfortable shoe in the world.) My feet are a little wide and the docs fit perfectly... I wear a US size 11-11.5 and the Doc 10's fit nicely. I recommend these boots, and would buy them all over again. They have a classic look that does not go out of style...as they have been around for over 40 years now.

TOTALLY AWESOME BOOTS!!! These boots are awesome!!! After wearing them just a couple of days, they felt like they were made for me. They totally supported my feet, excellent comfort!! The soles are remarkable, I'll have these boots a long time!!! EXCELLENT, THANK YOU!!!

I love these shoes - I always wanted a pair of docs, and when I finally got them, I wasn't let down at all, they are great shoes, the only problem was that at first they are a little tough to break in, but once you do they are really comfy! Zappos was also really fast with shipping...I got them the next day! Bottom line, a great pair of shoes!!

SOme things never change... This is my thrid pair or Doc's in about 25 years of every day wear.My last pair made it about 13 yrs and I would expect this pair to at least that many. I should have gotten these a sixe bigger , as they are exact , but given time and break in , these will fit like a glove.

These boots are awesome! Top mark craftsmanship that is typical of all Docs... These aren't just the originals with an extra 2 eyelets... The 1490's are mean and tough... takes a bit longer to break these in but worth the effort...a little uncomfortable to wear at first because the leather is really strong and thick but once broken in these are ready for some serious stomping. I usually wear a UK 10 in docs but with these I had to go up a size to UK 11 Zappos is the absolutely best place to buy from.. every time I've ordered I've gotten my order 1 day later...

I am back in the 90's - I missed my Doc's. The days where I wore them with Betsey Johnson Baby Doll dresses. Anyway, I needed new shoes for work so I thought it was a good excuse to buy Doc's again. These are awesome and have a great look but well the comfort is something that you have to work on. I twisted, turned and rubberbanded these. You have to love them to wear them or you will be wearing bandaids!!

Great Boot - I got a pair of these at Experience in Seattle..Took a while to break in, but once they were. I love them.

Doc Marten - I have never offered a response when buying on-line before, but after the service I recieved I felt it a MUST to do so. What can I say when it comes to D.M. shoes/boots. They have a style and class all there own. They have a shoe/boot for all occasions and needs. They are and will remain to be a trend setter for many more years to come. I have been wearing wearing 3,8 and 10 eyelets for years now and they are by far the best. Let's just hope they continue making the original sole and if they don't, buy as many original soles as you can. **** Zappos shoes has the best service I have EVER come across when buying on-line EVER!!! FAST, EXACT, and TRUSTWORTHY is all I am going to say about that. Take care and remember to wear Doc Martens...

Best boot in the world - While it takes a hot minute to break these shoes in, once broken, you'll love them. Plus they'll last for years

Dr Martens 1490 - OK, note where you see on the site where it says "color" it says "black smooth"--you will find a very high grade leather for the cash your about to put out. Its worth it! A little shoe polish, and a little buffing, and it looks like patent leather. At a glance you will se this thing is built to last. Everytime I order from Zappos my shoes fly over here, these guys are the most efficient shippers out there!

Gift-Daniel - This purchase was a gift. It was exactly what he wanted. He's worn Dr. Marten boots for years but has recently had trouble finding them in our neck of the woods.

My review - I love my docs . I started wearing them this winter and I love the way they look. The only thing is that you should wear a high sock when you wear them for the first time--I did not, and my heel got hurt. Other than that, I broke them in and they felt great. I wear a size 8 but got these in a 7 because they fit me a whole size bigger. They are great because they're closer to my calfs so my legs stay warm, and overall this is a wonderful shoe.

I love this shoe. First of all Zappos.com is the best place to buy shoes. Shipping is fast and free. Secondly, Dr. Martens are wonderful. After a few days I broke my pair in and now they are very comfortable. If you are looking to buy a boot you have to choose Dr. Martins.
