I am sooooo sorry I have to send the Sandals back because they are the right fit! I have worn Birkenstocks way over 40 Years, I am originally from Germany. Unfortunately I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my feet and the shoes just didn't feel comfortable even though they did fit. So, with a heavy heart I have to send them back! Thank you for making this so easy. I will watch out for different styles from Birkenstock they are the only ones I can wear. Thank you, C.S.

So I own 5 pairs of size 38 Birkenstocks in different styles and they all fit perfectly. I purchased the Gizeh big buckle and it was tight and slightly shorter. I went up to a size 39 and they fit much better. I do have a wide foot. They are definitely leather however, they feel stiff and not as comfortable as the other styles of Birkenstock. I am hoping the leather becomes softer as time goes by.

I have 8 pairs of Birks. I have another pair of gizeh but they are the regular buckle. I wear a 40 in all of them. However I ordered this one is a 40 and found it just wasn’t quite right. For one I could not get it right across the top of my foot even on the farthest hole. It just felt wrong. I ordered the 41, they are a little bigger than the 40 but the strap fit my foot so much better. I do have a wide foot with high arches and a high instep. As for the actual size I think the 40 could have worked. I just think they fit a bit smaller than all my others. I have arizonas, mayari, and a pair of Boston clogs all in a 40. I hope this helps someone but trying them on may be the only way to know how they are for you! The dove gray is very cute and the bottom is the suede not the leather.

I really like the smooth black leather-lined footbed. It looks so much nicer than the regular ones, which look pretty unpleasant after a while and take a lot of work to keep clean. It also makes them a bit nicer looking, if you're wearing Birks when you really should be wearing something dressier .

you definitely have to break them in, but they’re so comfortable! I’m only on day 3 or 4 and already the soles feel great (still getting use to the between the toe part) but it’ll get there. My first pair of Birkenstock so pretty happy and feel they live up to the hype. order down a size. I’m usually a 9-9.5 and I ordered the 8-8.5 and they’re perfect.

I purchased the cognac colored Gizeh sandals earlier and decided I needed the black as well. I love the big buckle versions that have the leather bottoms. They look and wear just a little nicer. I didn’t love the Zappos presentation; they came in a generic box and haphazardly thrown in. Usually shoes come very quickly and perfectly packaged. The shoes did look like they’d been handled as the leather had marks (as opposed to the lighter pair I purchased from Birkenstock directly). They wear and feel just like gizehs, but imo take a little longer to break in. I wear a US 9 and buy sz 40. They’re a tiny bit big but I don’t like my toes to hit the front edge. Once they’re broken in they’re super comfy & cute!

Bought these for my wife in a 39,and they seemed a 1/2 size off to me. She loved them, and didn’t want to risk not having them for the next few weeks. I contacted Zappos and the next day she had the 38. They fit her foot like a glove. She said they are the most comfortable Sandals ever...and she wears sandals year round. Now I think I’ll have to get a second pair in a different color.

These arrived quickly and I love them! I usually wear a size 8 which is supposed to be a 39 in Birkenstock, but I have size 38 Birkenstock in another style that fit perfectly so I ordered a 38 in these and I chose correctly. They fit like a glove. I read other reviews that said the piece between the toes is hard and uncomfortable. The way my feet fit into this sandal I don’t even feel the piece. The structure of the shoe holds them on my feet not the toe piece if that makes sense. I think if I got the larger size my foot would slide forward and that hard piece would cut into the between toe area, could not be happier with this purchase.

I love this shoe. I bought 2 pair. Last year I bought some wet use ones so they would not get wrecked in the water. I lost one of the old ones between the parking lot and my room. Hotel says they didn’t find it. So I put on one of my new ones. I had read the toe straps were uncomfortable but since my old pair felt fine I figure they would loosen up. I finally quit wearing them when both had left blisters between the big and second toe after 3 days. I am returning the unused fushia ones and will talk with someone about the yellow ones. The toe divider is plastic and is very uncomfortable.

I don’t like that the interior is leather instead of suede. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep these. I love the fit, love the new big buckle style. Why didn’t they leave the inside suede? Not sure how this will be in the summer heat.

I wear a size 8 and had an old pair of Birkenstocks in which the place where it said the size had worn off. So for those I ordered the recommended size. They were at least a 1/2 size too big.

I'm usually a size 8US/39EU; that's what I got and it fit perfectly. Regular width. I found the color (cognac oiled leather) a bit different than it appears in the photo -- less glossy and rich brown, more matte and a bit lighter. But it's still pretty nice and the chunky gold hardware adds glam. The toe strap may take a bit of getting used to, as the bit that goes between the toes is slightly stiff (but also flexible).

First, I love Birkenstocks! I have many pairs, but this is the first time I have ordered Gizehs. As I read the other reviews, I would agree the the middle piece between that separates your toes from your other toes is not the best choice, it does seem hard and plastic like, not like a very Birkenstock feel. However, it didn’t impact me as much as it may have impacted others. These do seem a bit more stiff and little more tricky to break in, but the style and overall look I felt was worth it. The leather is really pretty and the big gold buckles really help to dress up your average Birk. I will be keeping these as they have dressed up some of my casual summer clothes and still live up to my normal standard of Birks. Hoping they will break in a bit better with wear. I orders my normal size and they were a true fit.

Such a great looking shoe! Unfortunately the ridge on side of footbed digs into my foot in uncomfortable way. So sad to return.

hurt between the toes

I REALLY wanted to love these shoes because they are so stylish and supportive, however, the plastic separator between the toes is made of hard plastic and hurts my feet. I have multiple pairs of Birks and have never had difficulty breaking them in, until now. Unfortunately these have to go back :(

These are really cute and a nice soft color. The big gold buckle makes them especially stylish. Sadly, I had to send them back... the leather between the toe rubbed me in the wrong spot and they just were not going to work.

I love Birks. This was going to be my 6th pair. I love the style, the wide footbed, the color. Everything except the leather strap between the toes. I tried wearing them at home and in 10 minutes I had rubbed the skin almost raw. Sooo disappointed!

NIce sandals. A little wide for narrow feet.

Plastic piece between the toes is very uncomfortable. After reading that others had this same issue, I decided not to keep them. However, I loved the style and am disappointed that they did not work for me.

I would love to have several pairs of Gizeh in the big- buckle style. However, unless you have a very high arch or a chubby foot, the strap across the instep will be too long. If you punch another hole in the strap and put the buckle in that hole, you will pull the T-strap off-center. Finally, I think the high-shine black leather looks like plastic, not leather.

Perhaps they would relax with some wear; however within 5 minutes I had a blister forming on on one of my right toes.....Not for me.

The fit and size was perfect. Didn't love the white sole or the gold buckle as much in person as I did from viewing the picture.

I've owned 6 pairs of gizeh birks previously, but these black and cognac are my first big buckles. Reiterating other reviews, these are 1. NARROWER than other Birks/Gizeh (i have borderline wide feet, but dont quite need wide shoes), 2. STIFFER than usual out of the box and 3. The toe piece rubs and hurts at first. Typically I grab my birks for farmers markets and errands, but due to the above reasons I'll wear them only for shorter excursions like dinner out now and I need to exchange one pair for the regular buckle gizeh. Bottom line: Cute, but not fitting like other Gizeh sandals.

Cute but just too clunky and overwhelming for my short toes.
