I adore these sandals and have never worn such a comfortable shoe. I wear them every day as well as around the house because they are so much more comfortable than being barefoot. I have wide feet and these fit me perfectly, whereas the Mephisto Helena sandals were much too narrow. However, after just under 2 months of use, the front of the shoe cork footbed is starting to crack open. Zappos customer service has been great and is going to replace them. It's just a bummer because they take so long to break in! It has been suggested to me that because I live in such a dry climate with little to no humidity, that I will need to oil and treat the cork footbed to prevent them from cracking open. This seems like a lot of maintenance for shoes, but these are so comfortable that they are worth it. Definitely look into different cork care products if you buy these shoes.

I wish I could wear them...they are beautiful and probably comfortable for someone without my injury. I wore them around the house for about 1/2 hour and they aggravate the pinched nerve (a neuroma) in my foot. I need to return them and find something that has a different footbed and a strap around the ankle instead of just over the top of the foot.

I bought these in silver a couple of years ago and they are the best! So this year I wanted a different color and bought the oiled tobacco leather. I got a mismatched pair though, one shoe appears to be oiled, the other not. Zappos was perfectly AWESOME in helping with that problem though. So anyway, they are not as comfortable as the silver I had a couple years ago, and seem to actually run a little bit bigger than those.

I loved the look of these Birkenstocks! I was disappointed that the metal staple that holds the buckle onto the leather hurt and was abrasive to the area just above my little toe. I was going to send them back, but my wonderful fix-it man husband glued a thin piece of leather over the staple areas and saved the day. I expected higher quality.

I bought my shoes in May and recently noticed that the cork has split at the ball of my foot and is disintegrating. They are really comfortable and I like the way they look but I really expected to be able to wear them more that 3 months at this price. Pretty disappointing.

Not as comfortable as the regular Birkenstocks. The toe rubbed, and my lovely wide feet were going to come off the sole on the pinky toe side.

I usually wear a size 9 medium, but lately all the shoes I've tried to buy are too wide. I ordered these Birkenstock sandals in a 9 narrow. They were almost a full inch too long and very ugly.

First, a little about me: I have duck feet and my arches fall when I stand (but are there when pressure is not applied to the foot, e.g. sitting). I say all of this because this may have something to do with the initial severe discomfort I felt with the shoes in the arch area. Pain for that first week. After breaking them in well by walking the Vegas strip for almost a week, I either got used to the feel of the arch or I actually broke the shoe down. Either way, it's not "heaven," unfortunately. The best thing, however, is the style and my wide feet (wide at the toes) fit perfectly. The straps do not cut into my toes or feet either...though visually I thought there would be problems there. For those that can handle a hard arch, this is for you. Others, you may want to look to a Birkenstock shoe with less arch or try Ahnu shoes.

I have owned many pairs of Birkenstocks but this pair just seemed off. My foot hurt after less than an hour of wearing them around the house. Also the color said "golden brown." It was more of a metallic green color. Returned them.

I really like the feel of these shoes, but the leather is very shiny, much more shiny than it appears on the website. I was looking for a basic durable sandal, and these are a bit too flashy.

First the golden sheen they have kind of threw me. I wasn't expecting that. These were just okay. I have wide, flat feet and felt that these were not very comfortable, especially in the middle rubbing oddly on the sides of my feet. Sending back and trying a more traditional Birkenstock since I need the support.

I love Birkenstocks but I was very disappointed with this shoe. The Birko flor must be different than the other Birkenstock footbeds. It was not comfortable. I think the footbed may have been slightly defective as the heel cup on the right shoe pushed too far inward and was very uncomfortable. Also, I ordered the Golden Brown, which was not leather, but a vinyl like material. This was very uncomfortable in between my toes, and it felt like the material would cut into my toes. Love Birkenstocks, but this shoe will have to go back to Zappos. Will re order in the more expensive leather version. Am giving only 3 stars on comfort and overall due to the possible defect and uncomfortable vinyl like material.

Loved the look of this shoe - went with everything and it was super comfortable. I gave it a low mark, however, because the cork began to crack after 3 months of normal wear. I wear Birkenstocks 24/7 and have never had such a problem. I don't know if it's declining quality or if I just got a bad pair. Maybe one day I will try this style again, it was my favorite.

I wanted to like the Mayari more than I did; they just weren't as cute on as I'd hoped. I tried several styles of Birks to see which would work out best for me – normally a size 7- 7.5 with medium/standard width feet...not wide, not narrow. The Mayari in a 36 Narrow fit very well, a slight bit less comfortable than the Arizona; however, the style didn't look nearly as feminine as expected on my feet. I didn't feel confident or like they were stylish enough. Plus, the brown leather looked almost black. Ideally I had wanted a lighter tone, which isn't an option. Finally, the Mayari’s strap that crosses right in front of the ankle made me look less tall, much to my chagrin.

Great stylish and versatile colors (onyx and Moroccan gold) -- but I had to return these. I think Birkenstocks just don't work for me. I overpronate and in spite of the tall arches they make my ankles turn in, because the footbed is designed with a mysterious lump on the outside edge toward the heel. In other words, there is a good arch but the footbed is not balanced or aligned well for an overpronator. In terms of sizing, a 39 narrow was perfect - I am a 40 about 75% of the time and a 39 about 25% of the time. So I guess these run ever so slightly larger than true to size.

I have to return these shoes because, even though I wear a narrow shoe, these are too narrow. Also, the "Silver" is a dark silver grey not a light silver like the picture. I have ordered other Birkenstocks and have been pleased with them. I am exchanging these for a 42 Regular in another color.

I was excited to see Birkenstocks in a narrow width; I'd tried on regular-width Birks before but I just swam in them. The width was perfect for my narrow feet (and the adjustable straps are great), but unfortunately the footbed contours just didn't work for me. I wear an 11 narrow and my toes are really long, but these seem to be cut for more short-toed people! It's a bummer because I was hoping for a less expensive alternative to the Mephistos that fit my feet so well, but I guess I'll just have to keep paying for them!

We found the shoes are nearly a full size larger than before. They would fit perfectly if I wear hiking socks but most customers purchase Birkenstock as summer shoes. Too bad Birkenstock do not offer half size in between.

My first pair of Mayari were great, but I believe these silver ones are defective. The right shoe fits just as all my other birks fit, but the left puts pressure on my foot at the front strap as though there is a defect in manufacturing. The last pair of birks I ordered online also had something wrong in the manufacturing, really disappointing that the quality has gone down so much. Used to be able to rely on these always fitting as expected right out of the box. Sorry to have to return because I have looked everywhere locally for the silver mayaris.

This totally didn't work for my feet. My heel wouldn't stay in the back of the shoe. Really strange. I have the white mountain version and love them. Think I'll buy those again for $45.

I am disappointed with the Mayari. . The leather feels more like a manmade material, not the like the soft leather Birkenstocks I have been wearing for 40+ years. I have always loved the comfort and longevity of Birkies. But the leather that is now being used - for the Mayari anyway - is nothing like an "oiled leather."

These sandals do not accommodate my bunions on each foot. Sorry!

Normally these sandals last me 2-3 years. This pair in particular had the toe strap snap on me. I primarily just wear them around the house. First time this has happened.

Loved these Birkenstocks for a long time, but for the first time ever, I had a strap break on a pair of Birks. The toe loop simply tore off the attachment point on the insole. The Birko-Flor material just fall apart. I did wear them for a long time, but I've never had a strap failure on a pair of Birkenstocks. Usually the shoe fails only when the sole wears out.
