I really wanted to love these shoes but they run small and when you already wear a size 11, you do not have the option to go up a size.

I see people wearing these all the time and they look so cute but they looked goofy on me! The thong part between my toes was too big and got in the way when I walked. Unfortunately I had to return them.

I love the look of these, but they are so uncomfortable. Wore them around inside for half and hour and the outside edge of my feet was sore for a while after that. The cork and plastic parts are VERY stiff. Perhaps they do conform to your feet after a while, but not worth the pain from the get go. Also, for $100, they really shouldn't cause pain immediately as the starting point. Very disappointed. For what it's worth, I have normal feet and shoe pain is not an issue for me.

I got these for a family member, and they simply did not last. Just over a year and a half later, and they have fallen apart. The cork Sole is very brittle, and starks to crack. As expensive as these Birkenstocks were I will no longer buy or recommend these. Instead I recommend Keen Sandals !

The footbed in this sandal simply does not fit my foot. The contouring under the base of the toes cut into my foot and made it uncomfortable to walk in. They are popular, but not for me, I wanted to like them - a wearer of Birkenstock sandals for over 40 years.

I am so disappointed that Birkenstock changed this style in the toe thing and it is extremely uncomfortable. This would have been my 4th pair of this style and have been my go-to shoes for many summers. I still have my old ratty pair which I’m going to look into getting re-corked. I am so sad that this style is no longer one I can buy for every day wear. The Mayari seems to still be the same but it didn’t have the same look as the Gizeh. These will sadly be going back. On the bright side—Zappos has excellent service and returns so I’ll be ordering a different style.

These were huge. I am normally a size 10 (41), but these 41 shoes were even big on my husbands feet. They were labeled 41, but think there must have been an error in the factory because these were at least two sizes bigger than that. I love Birkenstocks but sadly had to sent them back

I've long admired these shoes on other people so finally got myself a pair. The TOE piece KILLS! I've been wearing Chacos for over a decade so am used to something between my toes, but not something this HARD and BIG. Sadly, I'm returning these even thought the footbed and arch support seem great.

Hurt between my toes. Foot pain after long walks that does not happen with other Birkenstock styles.

Was really disappointed here but this may just be a me-issue. The shoes are super cute and came in great condition in the size I wear (38). But, I have med-high arches and I couldn't fasten them... the holes in the fastener strap didn't even come close to the part that goes in the holes... So, have to return them. So sad.

I was very disappointed that the straps looked cheap like fake leather, which is unacceptable for a $99 pair of sandals. Even worse, the thong is made of a solid piece of plastic and is painful to wear. (I wear Fitflops every day and never feel any pain from their thong.) No, I will not wait to "get used to them" or break them in. Too bad, but they're going back.

I love the style and the onyx color. But the toe piece was so hard and uncomfortable I had to return them. I wear other thong shoes and haven’t had trouble before.

Was very uncomfortable for me. I have the Arizona style in Soft Footbed and love them, unfortunately these are not the same. First, they were like half size bigger (I’m 38 narrow) which I didn’t mind, but I didn’t like that the buckle in this Gizeh Black Patent is not real metal. Found them very uncomfortable to walk in even when I tryed tightening the buckle, the pump for the toes hurt me and I was getting a blister were my arch in less then 30 min, I guess my feet are too sensitive for the NOT Soft Footbed. But definitely returned them.

I have an older pair which I have almost worn out. This newer pair seemed like plastic and was cheap looking.

Plastic piece between the toe was a deal breaker. Hurt way too much. Width felt slightly less than other Birkenstocks.

This shoe was huge! And the color is sparkly and not what I expected. As other reviewers have mentioned the plastic piece is very hard and uncomfortable. I won't reorder in the correct size.

The plastic "THONG" is very-very uncomfortable ; I am a regular flip-flop wearer and these created a callous on my feet between toes. I had to return them.. will try the similar Mephisto style.

The middle part hurts like a beast! I not only had a huge blister between my toes but I felt like I had a broken second toe after just a few hours of wearing. Love Birkenstock but these ones missed the mark as far as comfort.

I was so disappointed based on the glowing reviews! I have long toes and mine hit the edge at the front of the sandal, and it was very uncomfortable. I normally wear a 7.5, and I’m sure a bigger size wouldn’t help me. They seem well made, but the weird shape of the sole, like your foot is sitting in a shallow bowl, doesn’t work for me. I went back to my standard SAS sandal. Too bad, I was hoping to save myself over $50 compared to the other sandals.

I'm trying to find the perfect summer sandal and am failing miserably. I've tried 3 different sizes of Birkenstock and still no luck. I'm a 5 size-wise in other shoes (except I get a Kids 3 in tennis shoes). I originally tried the size 36 (recommended) and it was huge! Next I tried the kid size 34. The length was practically perfect but the kid version only comes in a Narrow width on Zappos so it did not work for me. Since the 34 and 35 are supposedly only 5 mm difference in length and the 34 was almost too perfect of a fit, I opted to try the 35 Regular. It fit width wise but was also much longer than needed. These look and felt like nice sandals but after trying 3 different versions and none of them fit me correctly, I'm just left frustrated. I'd definitely order a size down. I was also told your European size is 30 + American size so I should have trusted that and tried the 35 to start - not that it would have worked out anyway.

The piece between your toes is hard, unforgiving and painful.

The plastic toe piece is terrible and very painful. Otherwise is is a great shoe. Why didn't they make it leather?

They look nice and felt fine but unfortunately the hard plastic tong between the toe is a killer. I took them on a trip and ended with a horrible blister after about an hour of wear. I wish I could return them but I wore them.

The white patent is not actually leather it is plastic with a cheap,synthetic felt underneath. The part that goes between your toe is too tight and very uncomfortable. I have very skinny feet as well so I'm not sure who these shoes are made for. Would have been cute if they were real leather and fit properly.

I wasn't terribly happy with the edges on these shoes. They felt sharp and were uncomfortable. I'd heard that Birks were amazing comfortable but I wore them around the house for a while and my feet hurt. I really wanted to like these shoes because they're cute and went so well with my leggings.
