This Birkenstock has changed a little bit since the same shoe (different color though) that I purchase a few years ago. The sole is noticeably not as tall as the older version. The bed is more narrow when held sole to sole. They've obviously cut back to save some money. But it's still a good shoe.

These are good sandals. Yes, the plastic piece between the toes hurts a bit to begin with, but your feet acclimate quickly and you do not even notice it. If you are replacing a worn out pair, like I was, your feet barely even register the difference. I must disagree with those who say that Birkenstocks last forever. Mine do not. However, these are the only shoes that I wear and I get about two years out of a pair.

I am first time owner and am very impressed how fashionable these Birkenstocks look! As many of the other reviews, it is annoying that the the thong is made of plastic! Overall the shoes are comfortable and really look great!

Very cute and very comfortable shoes. I was really excited when I found out that some styles come in size 35 (also marked as 4-4.5). However, when I tried them on they felt more like 6-6.5. I'm really disappointed that I have to send them back.

I am abou to order my third pair of silver. I wear them out! I need a full size larger than my shoe size. The plastic toe separator is great. I hardly know it is there and it does not irritate my toes. I usually don't like the look of this type of shoe; however, this is the exception.

Excellent comfort shoe! After wearing through the soles of several pairs of cheap slip-on sneakers walking across Manhattan, I checked out the Gizeh as a good everyday shoe. I needed something comfortable for walking long distances but casual-looking (I reserve my running shoes for the gym). They didn't hurt at all when I tried them the first day, so I (stupidly) walked about 3 miles without bringing an extra pair of shoes. The result: blisters everywhere! My arches, my heels, in between my toes, the sides of my foot. Once I let those heel, I kept wearing them and breaking them in (this time protected by moleskin- buy moleskin, it is so useful with these) and now they are amazingly comfortable. I wear them everywhere. Buy a size down. I'm usually a 9-9.5 (sometimes even a 10, but usually 9 for dress shoes and 9.5 for everything else), and the 39 fits perfect. I was a bit concerned because my toe on my left foot hit the edge, but they fit based on where my foot gripped the ridges/arch support.

Great sandals, hurt at first, but once your feet start forming to the shoes, they are great!

Overall a good sandal. I've walked miles in them with only a little discomfort around the toe. I do find that my ankles hurt after wearing these for 6+ hours on consecutive days and walking a lot. I like that they have more support than most sandals but probably not your best walking sandal.

These sandals definitely take some breaking in. I bought them for a weekend trip to Chicago and by the 3rd day I had to switch back to regular flip flops because the bottom of my foot hurt so much. I am also waiting to get used to the toe separator which is much thicker than on the average flip flop. They are good, sturdy, supportive sandals though. And the customer service I received was unbelievable!

These shoes are super comfortable. The toe strap felt a bit weird at first but did not rub or pinch. I wear a size 7 and ordered a 38. There is a bit of room to spare but this type of fit is suggested by Birkenstock. Overall great purchase and well worth the money.

I bought these shoes for a trip. I am glad I wore them for a few days before I left because it did take some time to feel comfortable with them. The arch support is terrific, and I was able to spend long days walking around without any discomfort. The sole is a bit harder than I am used to, I usually wear Fit Flops, but they did provide cushioning. Also to their credit, they looked as good as new after 16 days of travel.

I've loved these and wanted a pair for years. Unfortunately, once I tried them on, the hard plastic thong was a deal-breaker. It hurt, even walking on carpet at home! I will get the Mayari instead.

I love the shoes and the color! I ordered 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfect. The toe strap is very comfortable. The only thing I noticed 'after' walking in them is that they don't have that extra cushion layer between the cork and the tread that some of the styles have. So they have a very 'hard' feel. That would have made the difference between 4 or 5 stars. But I still love them...the color was worth it!

I am so bummed! I love these sandals, especially in the dark blue. Unfortunately, I didn't like the style of the toe area. The leather is too wide and hangs over my two toes. It looked funny, felt weird, and was uncomfortable. I was hoping it would be a narrower strap towards the toe area. The shoe was also just a tad narrow for me, but not enough to bother me. It gives as you break them in. I wear a size 38 (7.5-8) in Birkenstocks. Otherwise the shoes were as wonderful as any other Birkenstock I've tried.

I was not particularly drawn to the look. I wanted these shoes for the comfort factor. The rubber that goes between your toes hurts at first, but I guess you have to break them in. A lot of reviews said these are perfect for walking, and for being on your feet, but after wearing these for a couple of hours, I did not see much of a difference. My feet, legs and back still hurt the same. Still, they are way more comfortable than regular flip-flops, but I am not sure it was worth the price.

I took the advice of many other reviewers by ordering a size down. I normally wear a size 6.5, but I ordered a 36 (labeled as US 5-5.5) and it fits perfectly. Other than that - this is a very comfortable summer shoe that's great for when you want to stay cool but walk a lot. It doesn't do wonders for fashion or your legs, but hey.

A bit stiff when you first put them on, but broke in pretty well. Super cute with long skirts and wide leg jeans if you're going for a boho look. I wish they had a wider selection of colors in the narrow width though.

These shoes run much larger then the suggested size. The site says a 37 will fit a 6-6½. In reality I believe it would fit an 8.

Give them a chance! When I first put them on, I thought they were the most uncomfortable sandals I'd ever owned. It felt like walking on golf balls, and the toe strap hurt. I planned on sending them back, but decided to wear them in the house for a while. I'd been having such problems with my knees and feet, I could hardly walk. Within a few hours, I realized the golf balls were less noticeable and my knees felt better. I kept wearing them, and now can't live without them! They seem to have realigned my feet and knees. The silver is really cute...much more feminine than the big, dark, clunky Birks. Now I have to find a cute winter Birk! Just give them a chance...you'll be glad you did!

If you know anything about Birkenstock, you know exactly what to expect: rock-hard out of the box, but within a few wears perfect for your foot. I love Gizeh and have it in several colors. The color is my only complaint. The platinum has greenish tint to it. I liked the silver much better.

The Birko-flor is much softer/more comfortable than the leather Gizeh. Takes a bit of breaking in until the footbed really forms to your foot and is truly comfortable. The shoe size runs a bit big. I always wear a 9, but ordered the 39 (US Women's 8-8.5). Perfect fit.

Just got these in the mail yesterday and I think that I have already fallen in love with them! I usually wear a 9-9 1/2 so I ordered a size 40, a teeny bit too big, but I think if I would have ordered a size smaller they would've been too small. I wore them for the first time today, trying to break them in and I won't lie, they have hurt my feet. I know that Birkenstock is a great company so I know they will give me years of happiness once I break them in.

They run a size large. I bought them, love them, but I ordered a 39 as my other Birks are but these are just a size to large. I have a wide foot and the regular are perfect. Other than that they are awesome! As far as the exchange, they don't have my size in the color I like (copper) so either I'm stuck with them...or I can wait it out.

These shoes were uncomfortable, even painful, at first but seem to be improving. Just don't start out by wearing them all day. I do love Birkenstocks, though, so I haven't given up on these.
