It's a great shoe, no doubt. They're well built, have a secure heal cup, and light weight. They're just not quite wide enough in the toe box. I ran through a few pairs several years ago, but started buying Altras for the wider toe box. The Altras just aren't built as well as Topos and never seem to last long enough to justify their higher prices. A friend suggested that I try Topos again and jump up a half size to get the room I need. These fit a little better but I guess the trade off is that they're a longer lasting shoe for a lower price, without the comfort of a truly wide toe box.

I love these shoes. I got the brown ones. They hug my feet just right. Not too loose and not too tight. They look great, too!

I expected more from the Traverse. I own the Mountain Racer 3 but Instead, they were uncomfortable right out of the box. And that textured insole they rave about feels terrible underfoot.

Best fit and performance I've found for hiking that doesn't give me blisters and is comfortable. It seems like they may hold up better than similar shoes I've tried previously.

I hiked over 200miles in the Cherokee National forest last year and it is some extremely rough and rugged. These size 13wides have been a revelation in my 48yrs on planet earth. They have held up on every level. There are no holes in the weaved fabric and the traction is still great. Even the toe rubber is perfect and so is the fabric around my ankles. My foot is held tight in the mid-foot then expands out where my toes are free to spread out. Absolutely great shoe to meander about in the forest.

I was so excited to buy these for hiking, since that's what they're designed for. My last pair was the Mtn Racer 3, and I liked them in all ways except the pronation they caused on the trail. (My feet never pronate naturally, so it was a bit concerning.) Unfortunately, the Traverse ticked almost none of the boxes I enjoy about Topos. The toe box is narrower and the heel is much harder to lock in, meaning I got blisters on both heel and toe the first time I took them out. They also just generally hurt my feet; I don't know whether that's due to less cushioning, or the rock plate, but my feet were aching after 2-3 miles, whereas in the Mtn Racers I could go 8-10 with no pain. (I really took that for granted.) I'm sure these are great shoes for the right person, but I was disappointed. I'll be trying the Ultraventures instead.

These shoes come and feel as advertised. A lot of traction and cushion. They are a bit stiff for a trail running shoe so it's an individual preference in that discipline, but as a hiking shoe they rock!!

Perfect long-distance hiking shoe with vibram sole, rocker plate, and comfy toe box yet not loose in the heal. Dries fast. Topo gator fits perfect too. For me, comparing this to trail runners this shoe offers much better foot and ankle support while hiking with a 25-30 pound pack. Most other trail runner shoes are too mushy so roll under any root or rock.

I've been looking for a long time for a comfortable, secure, and roomy fit for shoes. I'm talking yearsssss. I'm so glad I found topo, I love this shoe. I have to have a good grip, and be ready to tackle any terrain for my job. It has great grip and after the 2nd day, I threw literally 3 other pairs of shoes away. Love it! Recommend it. Will buy again and again This will last me much longer than most shoes.

Bought for short hikes in the Andes. Great fit and awesome look! I have received lots of compliments. The Vibran sole is super grippy. #sweepstakes

Only about 70 miles in on this pair of Traverse, but they seem to be the right combo of comfort and feedback on the trails so far for my feet.

#sweepstakes this is a great shoe overall, but doesn't check all the boxes for my needs. Durability wise the top of the shoe by the ankle started fraying after two weeks but everything else is still solid and I've put a lot of miles in them because I'm training for a PCT thru hike this year which probably contributed to this wear and tear. The cushion is balanced yet protective and the stability is good. However, for me and my needs I don't think this shoe is quite what I'm looking for. Its very narrow in the heel and mid foot. More narrow than the ultraventure. I was thinking about returning them but since I've put so many miles on them already I don't feel a return is fair. This really is a great shoe but for my needs it doesn't quite hit and that's okay! I love the topo brand, fit, and the quality. The vibram outsole is fantastic and they have a great return policy. I'll be trying the terraventure next when the new model becomes available on the website!

I wear these everyday for work and another pair on trail. Since changing to the 5mm drop Traverse, my plantar fasciitis has not returned.

Love this shoe. I needed something a bit sturdier than the Pursuit 2 for rocky AZ trails, and this is just the thing. Supportive, moderately cushioned, and a sole that provides protection from sharp rocks. #sweepstakes

I discovered Topos after a painful bout of plantar fasciitis backpacking a section on the Appalachian Trail. I made the transition to a low (not zero) drop from a 13mm to the 5mm Traverse. I currently own three pair; two for the trail and one for the office. I am very happy with the fit and durability of the uppers. The grippy soles ate lasting, but we'll see how they do on the Virginia rocks once I get 500 miles on them.

I use my topos for trail running and the wide width sizing provided works for me. I am a midsole runner and on the rocky trails, I avoid bruising on the sharp or pointy rocks and roots. I am still in the breaking in process, but it has been very good so far.

I use these for on trail running and hiking. These are definitely an all day shoe. I require a big toe spread but otherwise have a pretty normal foot profile. My feel do not float and blister in these shoes even though my toes do not get crowded as my feel swell and return. They are tough .

Used them for a few trail runs, a little heavy but wasn't too noticeable. I enjoyed them as a trail runner but not a speed shoe. My feet felt great even after a long hike or run. Never had any problems with grip on any surface. I usually wear an 8 wide and I stayed with that on this shoe, glad I did. I think it's a great shoe but the midsole started to come apart after 60-70 miles. I may have just got a bad pair but I would still recommend this shoe for long hikes and runs.

Purchased as my everyday walking shoes based on the comfort I enjoy from my mountain racers. The Traverse does not have the same wide toe as the mountain racers and I have not yet taken them out for a walk. I do try them in my home to make sure my toes are comfortable.

I do long trail hikes. I use the Traverse and it is, without a doubt, the best shoe for hiking, and I have tried literally every brand over many years. None come close to Topo Traverse. Vibram megagrip soles, great durability, large toe box, and size 15's available.
