Saucony shoes have saved my running! After years of chronic injuries, the stability and support of Saucony shoes have kept me healthy and I couldn't be happier!

I run about 16 miles so far in my new pair of Guide 17's. Cushioning is improved vs the 16's. They are much, much, much bulkier than any of the previous versions!!!!! Don't love the bulkiness of the soles. The inside heel is different as well. In previous pairs my heel always wears out the back heel padding pretty quickly... I hope this redesign helps the heel back cushion area not wear out so fast.

After I wore them to run once, I immediately felt there was too much foam (too squishy) for my comfort level. However, they physical style and fir was great.
I'd also recommend:

I have worn this type of Saucony shoe for more than 10 years. This is the first pair I haven't been happy with because they tend to hurt my feet for some reason.

I spend most of my time running on off ( smooth ) trails and stick to your rugged to enjoy nature more. Unfortunately this is a faster way to wear out out your shoes faster but its also a way to find out very QUICKLY if you HAVE a GREAT PAIR of RUNNING SHOES! These new Saucony Guide 17 runners I personally believe are lacking what it takes to go the distance on most trails beyond your standard SMOOTH PAVED. They DO have a nice LOOK about them and will do for a comfortable everyday WALKING SHOE, but NOT for my LONG DISTANCE RUNS. The PROBLEM seems to LY MID SOLE- it is very FIRM and seems to POUND INTO the TENDER SOLES of my feet as I'm RUNNING and the MORE RUGGED the TRAIL the more PAINFUL it BECAME. Needless to say I will DEFINITELY be STAYING off rugged trails with these Saucony's Guide 17 runners.

The soles of the Guide 17 sneakers are too high and too hard for me. They hurt my lower back. Guide 16 sneakers are perfect for me.

The changes with the Guide 17 over the Guide 16 and prior generations makes this a no go for me. The Guide 17 is a noticeably larger shoe than the Guide 16 and prior generations. The foot strike area is different than prior Guide shoes. The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and uncomfortable to walk and run in. The widest part of the shoe, the forefoot area is nearly 5 inches wide, a half inch wider than the Guide 16. The midfoot area on the Guide 17 is nearly 3.5 inches wide while it is barely 2.75 inches on the Guide 16. The heel area is on the Guide 17 is over 4 inches wide while it's a just under 3.5 inches on the Guide 16. When I opened the box I initially thought I had been sent a wide width or had mistakenly ordered something other than medium width. It's like the shoe has become an extra extra wide. Foot strike area. The Guide 16 and prior generations my foot strike zone would be the forefoot area but the Guide 17 is the heel to midfoot area. The offset of the shoe changed from the Guide 16 to 17 or the description on the website and the shoe are wrong. The website lists the Guide 17 as having an 8mm offset which is the same 8mm offset for the Guide 16 but the actual Guide 17 I received has a 6mm offset printed on the sole of the shoe.

I have been a guide wearer for many years. Never any complaints. This guide 17 purchases was terrible. When wearing them for only a few days I had knee discomfort . Even worse was the off balance feel. I felt like I was leaning backwards. At times it almost felt like I would fall backwards. I called and explained this and was told I could not return them. I told them I wanted to just replace them with a guide 16 pair. Was turned down. I will not be a saucony customer again.

Saucony would not give me the military discount. Was told military discount not available within first 90 days of release. Was told it says that in fine print. I still can't find where it says that.

I have bunions and wide feet. In addition I seem to have an ulcer on my little toe. So incredibly difficult to find shoes. That model is the only shoe I can wear write now. I hike a lot and am on my feet all day. Im so grateful. I got that model in X- wide. Other models marked wide did not work sadly.

I have horrible feet. Besides having bunions, I have the next toe laying on top of my big toe on one foot. I must have shoes that come in wide and I was thrilled to get extra wide! I walk 2 miles everyday and these Saucony Guide 17 Extra wide are very comfortable.

New Balance shoes have been getting tighter as the years progress so was so relieved to finally find a pair of running shoes for my extra wide feet. Good cushioning so my knees and hips don't hurt afterward.

Love the extra wide fit, incredibly comfortable with the mesh forefoot, as there are no extra overlays to cause hot spots or pressure points, love the upper design! The midsole cushioning is awesome, springy and resilient!

Very comfortable shoe that has lessened the pain of my heel spur and tendinitis. I need more colors of this shoe. 10.5 regular width fits perfectly.

This is my 4th or 5th purchase of the Guide series. I basically have been trading them out every year or so and bought whatever the new model was. Initially, I did not like the look of the massive sole - visually very different than previouos versions, it seemed to me. They also didn't immediately feel perfect, as all the others had done. Felt like a different insole shape/size. I was immediately so concerned that they wouldn't work. 3 runs into the new shoes: absolutely LOVE THEM.

When my grandson first took them out of the box he was sort of questioning all white foam. He said Ill wear these for practice and my old guides for the race. He wore them for practice and never looked back he actually wore them for his mile got first place. I first got guides because my grandsons were always having heal pain and injuries. Not anymore went through cross country and now into track season feet are good. Grandson happy.

I have worn Saucony shoes for years but I began having foot pain. I discovered that I needed both a larger size and wide. My walking is now a pleasure again.

I'm a fan of Saucony's Guide series. I own the Guide 15 and found the Hollow Tech to tremendously help stabilize my feet (a feature that is now in the Omni series). As such I wasn't sure what to expect of the Guide 17 with such massive changes. After running ~50 miles in them, I am happy to say that they're amazing. At first I found them to be rigid and tank-ish, they do soften up and become more fun as they break in. I find the shoe to be as stable as the previous versions. Also the upper is soft and accommodates my large feet well. Lastly, the shoes are good-looking and I've gotten several compliments when I wear them (I bought the yellow ones). I like my shoes to look good, and many running shoe brands don't make colorful shoes for men. I'm a fan of Saucony's Guide series. No need for a break-in period with Saucony shoes. I have terrible arthritis in my feet and Saucony shoes fit comfortably. The Guide 17 shoes is extra wide, making me feel stable on my feet.
