I have had ghost in the past and usually like the neutral setup. This recent purchase seems to lack a significant foot bed. I recently went on a trip walking 80 miles in 7 days and the ghost lasted one day. Heel pain was extreme. I wore Ola Kai golf shoes the next 6 days plus another 4 after the walk without any significant pain. I would like to return them.

If you are a long distance runner, that goes in any weather this shoe is not for you. When wet the shoe becomes heavy, and holds its moisture for days. If you're a fair weather runner, that goes distances of say 5 miles or less it is a good shoe that has plenty of cushion.

They're ok....not great. I tried to like them but returned both pairs I tried. I need 4E shoes and the ONLY colors these come in for that size are the primer gray and solid black. That stinks. They were decent but I bought the Addicton GTS as at least they had one decent color. For the last 10 years, I bought the Brooks Beast but now those come in 3 colors that aren't that great, to me, including...yes, solid black. Pass.

I've been through two pairs of Ghost 15's before ordering the 16. First impressions; I like the 15's better. The 15's have more cushioning in the tongue and heel collar. I also like the feel of the Loft 2 in the 15's. I'm not a runner. I wear these for my daily walks.

I like Brooks Ghost because it comes in a narrow width. But this year's model feels boxier and roomier in the toe box than prior years - so a little disappointed with it.

SHOES RUN BIG*** Love the look and design. Not enough cushion in the sole. I'm 6'1" 240#. I felt every step during my run. Unfortunately returned my Brooks for another set of HOKA.

The fit had changed. Narrower in the toe box and applies stiffness on the inside ball of my feet causing pain. Tried and tried giving it a rest, trying again. It's these. Brooks took them back. The glycerin seems to be my new shoe after years with the ghost. Bummed.

After almost 100 miles, I found Ghost 16 is adequate for short runs/jogs under 10 miles; I experienced ache at heels and ankles. It could use more cushion and stability. But walking with Ghost 16 is very conformable for daily used, but not advised for long hours walk--or being on your feet. When I go for a jog, I have to add another thin insert for extra support, still I won't go for more that 12-14 miles. I switched to Adrenaline GTS for longer distances for walking/jogging.

I really love Brooks shoes, I own mutiple pair. I'm not sure if I possibly got a bad shoe or what. The left shoe developed a indent in the toe cap after 3 days of wearing for work. The appearance was not my issue, it was that the indent pressed against were my nail and toe meet causing a little discomfort. There was no issue with the right shoe. Brooks has the best return process so I'm replacing them with Glycerin's.

The Bad: My normal size with the Ghost model was a half size too small with the Ghost 16. Overall quality of materials used in the Ghost 16 seem less than earlier models. The Good: Brooks refund policy is excellent, seamless and quick. Easy return shipping with no cost to me and a prompt full refund to my PayPal account. I reordered a half size larger than normal and the fit is good. Great cushioning for a neutral shoe. Despite the inconsistencies in the sizing and slightly diminished quality (which seems to be the trend with everything these days) Brooks has kept me as a return customer because of the way it handled the return and refund.

Hi Brooks, This is my third pair of Ghost 16 and I really like them. The Ghost 16's have been my go-to shoes for everyday running. Unfortunately, this last pair fit very snug, I believe they may be miss-labeled? I contacted customer support to replace them. Thanks for making great products!

This shoe is very narrow even in the 4E model. Switched to a Hoka Bondi 9 which is great.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka, New Balance

Newer is not better. Ghosts have been a part of my daily footwear at work and for personal use for several years now. I liked the Ghost line because it offered me the heel support and and toe room; however, the new models are a disappointment. As others have noted, the toe box seems smaller than before and the shoes feel a 1/2 size too small. I do not have any fit or width issues, but the length is a problem. I should not have jump up an entire size (13->14) because of this issue, as it has NOT been a problem in all the years past. Unfortunately, the wide model is too wide and it felt like my foot was flopping around inside. A coworker, also wears Ghosts, and she reports the same issue of length/toe box with her 16s. Ultimately, these are not the Ghosts you have come to know. They do not even offer the bright colors as in the past, with no option of neon greens, reds, or yellows. So not only do they not fit like they used to, they don't even have the fun colors like they used to.

Not comfortable and felt narrow in the toe area. I have been buying the ghost shoes for years and this one does not compare.

Toe box is to narrow. I have owned Ghost 6 and up to the 16. I like the way they feel just wish they had a little more toe box room.

The 16 seems too soft. Also the toe box feels wider than the 15. I liked the 15 more. Actually I wish you'd bring back the Vantage from the 1970s. That was a shoe.

The Ghost 16 is good for a walking shoe but it's too soft for running. I prefer a more firm feel. The shoe puts a lot of strain on my shins when running.

I love most of my Brooks shoes, I also have Hyperion Elites, GTS 23, Cascadia 16s, Ghost 13, 14, 15's. The 16's however didn't live up to my expectations. On the positive side, they felt lighter, had more cushion, and the toe box seemed extra roomy. I have been getting calf cramps for the first mile ever since wearing these, but that may or may not be related as I think the drop is the same as prior years. But, I do feel as though they are wearing at twice the rate of my previous models. I started wearing these in February 2025, and just broke 300 miles and they appear to have more wear than my previous 14/15's with over 500 miles. Also, the inside of the shoe just split open along the line of the logo yesterday. I truly didn't think I would ever change training shoes from the Ghost line, but after the 16's I am leaving my options open. If anything I may have to look for an old stock of Ghost 15's.

Thinking the new nitrogen bottoms are causing discomfort. Will try for another few days but not happy about that change.

I have these in both 7 1/2 2E and 8 2E and they are incredibly comfortable, however I have tried to stock up on more but they seem to have changed the shape of the toebox. I it is wide enough for bunion area and then it angles and cuts over across the toes instead of it being a nice, round toebox like the original 2 pair I bought. I have 2 deformed toes on the left and it rubs across the top of them which is uncomfortable. The shape of the front of the shoe is almost like a triangle now, instead of being rounded. Very disappointed. I tried several pair from here but needed to return. None were like my original pairs.

Walking in them felt like I was going to fall forward, like walking down stairs and you didn’t realize there was one more step to go. Maybe that’s desirable for runners but not what I’m looking for.

The toe part of the foot is not stable, seems to be made of plastic and too easily bendable. Bought this for my boyfriend and he wants to return them.
