I've always purchased trail running shoes, even though I don't run. They give me the most support while walking in concrete, at work all day. These shoes may be good for actual trail running because when running most of the pressure goes on the ball of the feet. However, this is the first brand that I've purchased, for everyday walking/work, that hurt my feet. My legs ached and feet felt sore and tired. If you purchase these for actual running you may benefit from them. I hope you do! I purchased a size 11 and they are true to size.

They are comfortable for my small narrow foot, they are cut smaller the speedgoat 5. The tip of the toe, the part which is part of the sole, started to peel off. I had to glue it with gorilla glue. They are lightweight, gives me an extra step in my walk.

I like the look of them and the fit is good, though they feel noticeably less cushioned than the Mafate 4 (to Hoka: I wish Mafate could come in a nice neutral colorway like the Speedgoat). In the product description, the Speedgoat is supposed to have more cushioning than the Mafate 4 so that surprised me. I would have kept them anyway but the deal breaker was the tongue, which is super thin and too short for the shoe. The "bow" where the laces are tied ended up being directly on my foot and it drove me crazy just walking around the house so back they go. I do appreciate Hoka's generous return policy.

I sent them back. If you have long feet, these shoes look like Bozo shoes. They were huge.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Aetrex.

I tried HOKAS because they're all the rage, but I don't get it. I did not find them cushioned or comfortable. I thought they were rather stiff and ungiving and there is absolutely no arch support. I'll continue to look for some basic white sneakers.

they just aren't comfortable and my feet have been uncomfortable in the three different sizes of speedgoat 6s i've tried out now. I'm a trail ultra runner, so I love the durability, low/mid heel lift, and cushion on them. However, arch support and very narrow toe box just don't work for me. They're only really comfortable running flat and that's not really an option for me.

I have Clifton 9s that I wear for street running and find them really comfortable. So I bought the Speedgoat 6s for hiking and trail running hoping for the same comfort, but with more aggressive tread. They do seem to have a similar cushioned feel underfoot. However, after wearing them a few times now, I've noticed a few issues. I don't like the thinner forked tongue. I don't think it provides enough cushion between the laces at the top of my foot near my ankle. I can definitely feel the laces which might become problematic on long hikes. I'm planning to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim and wanted to wear these, but I don't know if the tongue would cause pain on an intense hike like that. Also, the elastic that holds the tongue in place is folded on one side of one shoe. I think this is just a manufacturing defect and will probably return these due to the defect, but I'm still trying to decide if I want to exchange them for the same shoe or try something different because I don't like the tongue. Other than my concern about the tongue, I think these are great and very comfortable.

The heel was much too wide; loved the color and they felt good, but the heel slipped up and down.

I have an older pair and they fit great (Speedgoat 5) I ordered these in the same size and they are HUGE in the toe box area...LIKE WIDE WIDE...my 5s are not like that! Very disappointing...returned them!

The shoe felt tighter than my Speedgoat 5 I bought last year. I also was not fond of the color.

I've been buying hookers for the past four years my last purchases 2024 until the present I noticed very poor workmanship souls are only lasting a month and I'm not a runner. It's too bad because I love the comfort and fit and something has definitely changed with the quality.

Have worn Hokas for years. The Speedboat 5 is a perfect shoe. This upgrade has a stiffer sole and less arch support than its predecessor.

Cool shoes. But my toes are perfectly straight and the HOKA toe box tapers a bit. My big toe rubbed against the show enough to feel uncomfortable. I tried my regular size and the next size up. I will see about the wider version.

Shoes are good but the soles are extremely stiff and little arch support. Definitely can be improved upon.

FEELS BUILT FOR SPEED BUT NOT STABILITY WHICH IS IMPORTANT ON TRAILS. SHOE LACES DO NOT STAY TIED AND MUST BE DOUBLE-KNOTTED COLORS ARE GREAT

The Speedgoat didn't provide enough stability for me. It also seemed like it had a shorter tongue which in turn made it more difficult to put on. I have returned them and will be getting another pair like I have.

I loved my speedgoat 5s and thought the 6s would be just as great. I found these much stiffer than the 6s in the sole and the sewn in tongue doesn't allow for much flexibility to get a comfortable tight/looseness. I had major pain on my first metatarsal that lingered after my runs. When I switched back to my worn out 5s, no pain at all.

The width is good, but my forefoot gets painful like there isn't enough sole on it. The arch is good. I use them for hiking/walking and treadmill.

I so like the fit of mafata speedboat 4 better!! The 6 is wider on the outside of the shoes. Though I do admit the tread on the 6 is better. I tried to buy the 4 but can't find any in my size women's 10. So if you have any in the back storeroom I'd be interested in paying a pair ?

Straight to the point. Bought these shoes for our twelve year old son. Wanted another pair of hiking tennis shoes for summer. Unfortunately, within two weeks, the siding material starts to peel away. Mesh around two box forming small holes. As parents, we understand kids are hard on stuff. However, for the price tag of a nice trail hiking shoe, I was hoping it would be different. Instead, watching your money end up in shreds. Since I've hiked in HOKA shoes through two Oregon sections of the PCT, plus hiked & archery hunted in them, they did great. My expectation was too high.
