I bought these to wear hiking at Zion National Park, Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon. The temps were in the 90's and 100's and these shoes were light weight, comfortable and had great grip. I wear an 8.5 and purchased these in that size. Perfect fit! Glad to find the perfect shoe.

I'm a reluctant convert to HOKA. Honest, I wanted to not like these shoes. I was given a pair to try and wore them on a 8 mile trail run right out of the box. I fell in love like a besotted school girl. Grippy, responsive, cushioning but not too much so you still have ground feel, no hot spots, no sloppy heel fit, a toe box wide enough but again not sloppy. I guess this trundle donkey is now a speed goat! Oh, size down 1 size. I wear a 10 in almost every shoe and in HOKA a 9 fits like a glove.

I ordered a half size larger because the reviews said it ran short. It was a little too long and it just fit strangely. The arch didn't hit in the correct place and the heel slipped, even when laced tightly.

They were a little too small on my larger foot.

Yes love the update! I could not wear version 5 it had too much lateral movement for me . This new version with the internal chassis is great and I also like the new foam.

I hike 5 miles each day. Over a lot of rocks and dirt roads. The shoe is very comfortable and helps my foot with Mortons Neuroma. The foot support helps me with walking uphills

I've been wearing Speedgoats since the forth iteration. It seems every new version is basically a downgrade. This one feels a little smaller and has less cushion. It's a very different shoe now than it was a few years ago. With all the accolades of the Speedgoat 4, why or why change it so drastically. I now believe the heel pain that started last year was due to the changes made in the 5th version and the Speedgoat 6 is no better. On the bright side, the return policy is very generous and I am thankful for that.

This is her primary running shoe and she says it feels like she is running on springs!

One year ago I switched from Altra's to Hokas for my walking shoes. I quit running as much, and was doing more walks and power hikes and the Hokas were great for that. I'm back into trail running now and thought I'd give this shoe a try. It seems like a good shoe, just not if you want your toes to splay while running. I really need that. My toes felt incredibly pinched, it seemed to be very narrow. I also found this to be a VERY hot shoe. I need breathability. Two other problems I encountered in the three runs I used them for (16 miles total), was the low tongue was a little funny and the laces came up over the tongue causing friction at the top of the foot. That's a potential problem for high mile runs, but the biggest problem was the way the shoe hit and rubbed just under my ankle bone. It was unbearable.
I LOVE my Hoka Clifton and Bondi for walking. I'll stick with Altra for my trail runs.

Fit and size for me was very good. I have extremely high arches, so I can't fault the shoes for having only moderate arch support for me. The soles are wide and stable, and quite grippy (good!). I think that I will love these shoes the longer I have them.
I'd also recommend:

This is my 6th pair of Speedgoats. Want to try the Mafate but I always end up with the Speedgoat. It's never let me down.

I absolutely love this shoe!! Just what I was looking for. I needed a shoe that would not show the dirt after distance walking on the beach, country roads, etc. The design on these shoes hides most of that. The fit was true to size and so comfortable!! My only complaint would be that the tongue is "different" and a tad bit short. I wish Hoka made shoes with designs like this shoe for their regular non-trail shoe. I find the solid colors shoes all the dirt/sand, etc.

I'm absolutely thrilled with my 19th pair of Hoka shoes, and I'm excited to say that this Speedgoat 6 is one of my favorite color! The fit is perfect, and they're ideal for navigating snow and ice. My feet stay warm and cozy, and I can walk with confidence, knowing I have the traction and support I need. The best part? I've received countless compliments on my outfit, which features the same color scheme as my shoes. The protection and stability they provide on snowy and icy surfaces is unparalleled. I feel completely secure and carefree when I'm wearing them. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed and can't wait to add more Hoka shoes to my collection!

Beginner runner here! I prefer trail running and want to make sure I have the proper shoes for the activity. I started experiencing knee pain since I’m new to running and sometimes push myself too far. These sneakers provided comfort and stability right out of the box. I had to size down half size because the toe box is spacious. So glad I made the investment!

Fit and cushion feel even better. The new design on the "tongue" is a great improvement. It cushions the top of the foot and allows better movement with being notched and shorter.
The 6 feels lighter with greater mobility. The design & black & green color are fun. I have already recommended these to a friend.

This is a great shoe. I am a sports coach with and orthopedic insert as I have arthritis on a toe joint. Love how these running shoes stay snug on my heel without rolling the toe joint as it has a late heel rocker on the tennis shoe.
Use to love how the lacing bed of the tennis shoe was longer. It is shorter, tighter, the material stiffer and bends weird on my toe joint making it hurt as it rubs against my joint.
I gave them a 1 week try, adjusting the lacing daily and I am selling them. Sad. Back to square one finding a new tennis shoe.
The speedgoat 5 was awesome and came in decent colors and 5 fit. Not 6.

Product was received and was obviously worn by someone else. Won't be using Zappos again.

Ever since I started trail running, I have loved the Speedgoats. I upgraded to the 6 and I loved the style and fit and function and overall comfort. However, I noticed after about 3 light uses some of the outer lining and pattern started to peel sooooo other than some blemishes, this is a great shoe.

Didn't do anything crazy with them, but there's two spots where they have started to come apart. Just did a 4-day trail run around Wonderland and this is the result. Not the typical quality I expect when buying Hokas.

I have been loving and running in Speedgoats for years! I usually have no problem wearing them right out of the box even for a 50 or 100 miler although this time was different, I revived my shoes tossed in my personal liners (I have extremely high arches) like I always do, headed out the door for a 10 mile run and something was off.... upon taking off my shoe and feeling the toe box my liners were too small- this has never happened before, bummer the shoe doesn't fit like the last 4 models. The toe box is bigger so beware if your were an avid Speedgoat lover like myself and are use to just tossing them on and going for it, I am currently searching the internet for the last model.

My husband and I have been loyal Speedgoat fans for years since the Hoka 2 first came out. We hike for a living so we buy around 3 pairs each year. I don't know why companies feel compelled to mess with a good thing. We got worried last year with the 5 as it was slightly less comfortable, but the 6 isn't even in the same league as the old speedgoats. It's stiff, fits tighter, rubs my ankle raw, and the tongue is so thin the laces hurt the top of my foot. The bottom isn't nearly as soft and comfortable. We both feel the same way. Thankfully they rereleased the Speedgoat 2 and we both bought 2 pairs and saved our feet this hiking season. Hoka should refund everyone who bought the 6. A costly mistake. I have recommended Speedgoats repeatedly to people online and to clients for years, but the 6 will kill the Speedgoat reputation if they don't go back to the old materials and design.

I was shocked and very disappointed in these shoes, they are dangerous! I was walking in town on a sidewalk with my dog and felt a surge of pain and immediately had to lift my left foot up. Here a twig had gone through that circular piece in the middle of the sole. Thinking this is a defect? Never had this happen before, but I had to hobble home because I couldn't get this stick out(it was far to cold to walk barefoot when this happened). Careful on trails with this one.
I did try to call Hoka on this cause I was concerned, but they really weren't interested.
