fits completely different than the speedgoat 5 and pulls across the top of the foot and is so uncomfortable. Feels like it is defective the way it is made. I am returning them as I am so unhappy.

I tried these on - the 6 on one foot and my Speedgoat 5 on the other. It's like a totally different shoe. It fits differently. Especially in the toes. The toe box doesn't seem as wide and my big toe hit the front of the shoe. Overall the shoe wasn't as comfortable. I own three pair of 5's and will get at least one more for when the ones I have wear out. Why change a winning style?

I initially had a pair of Tecton which were super comfortable right out of the box. They were also the longest lasting pair of shoes I've ever had. Was disappointed when I could no longer buy this design so went for Speedgoat which looked like a good fit for my needs. Out of the box they were torture on my feet. I put them back in the box and continued wearing the Tecton until they fell apart. Forced back to the Speedgoat, it took ages to get them to the point where it didn't feel as if I'd strapped two concrete blocks to my feet. I finally get them comfortable after a couple of months of light wear with breaks between use as they caused pain, only to find the fabric on the side has split from midfoot almost to the toe. I've never experienced this in any shoe before. These have had very little wear. 100% disappointed.

This shoe is narrower, shorter and has overall less volume than the Speedgoat 5, making for a very uncomfortable fit. It's a shame. I have hiked all over rocky mountainous terrain and loved how grippy and stable these shoes were, but this new iteration was truly disappointing.

The new design of the Speedgoat 6 with the short grooved tongue is miserable. I've used several different ties to prevent the lace from dragging across my foot and cutting into it. None of them worked. I gave up after the 3rd try and for the first time ever, tried to return used shoes. Unlike most running stores, Zappos won't take back shoes that have been worn. So....I'll be donating a newish pair of shoes and hope someone can put them to good us. Very disappointed in the shoes and Zappos.
I'd also recommend:
Buy the Brooks Caldera.

I have been wearing speedgoat for years, never had to try them on once I found my fit 7wide. With the speedgoat 6 after wearing it on a five mile run/hike both feet had different problems and my feet just hurt. I had to return my two pairs that I bought. Please bring back the 5, I dread going out shoe shopping for another brand, I really like Hoka's.

I ordered these based off of another pair of Hokas I have. The Bondi SR is nice and roomy and fits well, so I ordered this shoe in the same size/width. It was way to tight.

I have been a long time wearer of the Speedgoats, I loved the 5s and wore them until the soles were completely bare without traction. The 6 is just bad, rubs on the sides of my feet in places I've never felt friction before. I'd be open to trying a different size, but I know they'll then be too big. And less importantly, but still would like to mention- they're fugly- and not in an Ironic way. These "splashes" of color are so over the top trying and too hard. The color ways do not follow any theme or have cohesion, they are messy. Please release more of the 5s or quickly release a 7 so we can forget this generation ever existed.

The speed goat 6 is not comfortable for me at all. I love the speed goat 5 so much and I returned these to purchase another pair of the 5s. The new version is stiff and uncomfortable around the ankles and a major disappointment. I hope HOKA doesn't discontinue the 5 it's my favorite sneaker ever

I have been wearing the Speedgoats for years and have loved them! These don't have the same cushion and hurt my feet. I have had them for 3 weeks with just under 100 miles on them and switched to an old pair of 5s that felt better than the new 6s. Hope you bring back the 5. Thanks.

I am an avid Hoka wearer, unfortunately I wish I could return these. They hurt my back after wearing them to work. I have never encountered a Hoka shoe I didn't like, but these are not for me. Also, the tongue is short unlike other Hokas. Wish I could return them as I've only worn them a few times, but it's been a couple months. Bought others since and love them.

I am a 7 1/2 in Hoka OneOne. Hoka Speedgoat 6 were much too small--no toe room. I took them on vacation, we were leaving the next day. Toes were bruised by shoes.

I heard the new Speedgoats went down in quality but i ignored the complaints. I needed new fall trail running shoes so took a trip to R.E.I. to try the new Speedgoat 6, being a fan of the 5s. I was expecting to walk out with a pair of 6s, but the complaints were valid! They were shockingly uncomfortable! They are stiff and run small. They still had the Speedgoat 5s in the store so my friend and I put them on side by side. The 5s are roomier and the material is much softer. The material on the 6s felt like cheap plastic and when I sized up they fit the toe box but then rubbed on the heel. I tried on the Stinson 7 instead, which also didn't workout. They're plush on the foot, but stiff around the ankles and way too heavy and stacked for a trail running shoe. I was so disappointed. I ended up with the Challenger 7s, which are very comfortable, but I was hoping for a more technical quality trail running shoe. I feel like I should backstock the Speedgoat 5s...otherwise I might need to switch to a different brand. Hopefully the quality improves next time!

I wanted to love these. They're rad. I've heard such good things about other versions of the speedgoat. I bought these for a mountain race and wore them on a short hike to break them in. They dug into my ankle bones on any slight up or downhill and often even on the flats. I tried tying them different ways, nothing relieved the pain. It's like they forgot to cut out a slot for your ankle bones or something. Grateful for the free returns.
