These are awesome for mountain running! They hold very secure on your feet and are highly stable and protective. The firmer foam means minimal energy loss when climbing equaling faster, easier climbs. Descending is a blast with plenty of bounce and high mileage protection for the legs. The only area that they may lack alittle is on the flats, but for a shoe named speedgoat, I don't think that is it's intended use case.

Purely a mistake, I ordered the wide version and I am so glad that I did. I trail run about 45-55 miles per week, and that's on fairly rough terrain, so I know a good trail runner and I think this version is pretty darn good! I'd still call my favorite SG the 4, and the 5's were good too, but the 6 is better than the 5 in my opinion. It is a little less cushioned, but still offers plenty of protection. The outsole is Vibram with good traction on most surfaces. It's a little slick on wet rock.
All in all it's a great shoe! The color is the least of my concerns, but it is nice to see they've released some new colors. I can definitely recommend these!

I've bought three pairs and I'm totally satisfied with each pair. I can never go back to another brand. I'm totally sold.

All these people giving one stars because of color is ridiculous.. I've been running in Evo speedgoats.. speed goats 3 and 5 for years ... And this 6 is solid... Stiffer then what we've been used to but once you break them in ( 5-10 miles) they're solid! Go a half size up.. it helps!
And I personally don't mind the color and can't wait to keep buying more pairs of these when a ton of new colors come out...

I started with version three, so far version 6 is my favorite. They are faster than their predecessors and more precise, so I feel much more confident during steep, technical runs than in fours or fives.
p.s.
this color looks great in real life.

Love the color. Not sure how anyone wouldn't love this color. Nice and bright. Garrish is more like it. But in a good way. LOL Thumbs up!

Shoe overall is solid. Tounge bed built into shoe is short and a bit awkward

Not a big fan of the tapered thickness tongue. It tapers to near paper thin around the top edge. I worry that when I pull on the tongue, sooner or later it is going to rip. Plus it is so thin that it always gets folded backwards when I put my foot in the shoe.
I'd also recommend:

Excellent shoe the lightest trail runner I've ever worn I run trails in Northern California where I stop and harvest wild bolete, and chanterelle mushrooms. Most likely will get a 3rd pair since I know they will discontinue shortly..I also bought a pair for my daughter so that's 3 pairs in a month

Good fit, feel light on the feet, great cushioning. Snug fit, but not too tight.

Never have had an issue with HOKA shoes. I'm on my 7th or 8th pair. The last shoes I bought, seem to be sized smaller than normal. I usually buy 10.5, but next time I think I need to buy 11.

Snug in the toe and a bit narrow, a size up might be too much.

Shoe is very comfortable but lacks with tongue design. The tongue is u shaped so when u put ur foot in the shoe the tongue goes down, nothing in the center to pull it up with just have to fish for the thin strip that is on both sides

This is probably my third or fourth pair of Speedgoats. I've always enjoyed the cushion and traction it provides with the rocky/hilly trails I typically run. Great toe protection too as I tend to kick rocks occasionally....oopps. They worked great right out of the box, not needing a lot of break-in time. I still wish the tongue and laces were a bit longer. I use the extra lace holes to tie and lock my foot into the heel, and there's not a lot of lace left to do so. The tongue is thicker in the Speedgoat 6 which is nice, but you end up tying the laces almost above the tongue. Once loosened, I can tighten the laces a bit more. All and all, I always come back to the Speedgoat.

I've been putting the miles on my Hoka's with the wide fit. They are awesome, can't wait to bring them on the trail next month.

Overall very satisfied. If bought again I would buy the wide size as the standard size is snug and as such a bit difficult to put on.

The Speedgoat is a very nice shoe. Honestly, I wish the toe box was a little wider, but the fit is good. I am hoping to use them for light hiking, but so far I have used them exercising and walking. So far so good.
