I wear trail shoes a few times a week. I'm 6"4 and about 185 so I need good cushion. I've had hoka for over 12 years. No idea what they did here but don't believe all the running bloggers. Stiff as a board and unclear as why it's being marketed as a speedgoat. Ruined my trail run this morning. Also have to waste time exchanging.

I logged 500mi in a single pair of SP5, and I was ready to love the 6th but upper tore after 35mi of moderate trails...not happy.

I give these a 2/5, I bought these primarily to hike in. Previously had the SG4 and loved them for hiking, I recall they had a somewhat bouncy midsole. Saw they had a firmer midsole from the V5 and felt might not be a big deal for hiking. Wrong. Took them on a 3 mile run and they were ok, pretty boring/flat. Took them on a ~9 mile hike in the Whites (NH). The lack of cushion took the joy out of hiking. They did fine on a long scramble up a slide. The Outsoles were good, they fit fine. I'm looking for comfort with some decent traction. If you're gonna get a big midsole shoe, one would expect it to have somewhat decent cushion with some give. It's good for technical stuff and stick to rocks well enough, but if I was just doing technical stuff I'd probably just use approach shoes (or technical trail shoe). Weight saving is great obviously, but these aren't really the primo ultra shoes of yesteryear. These should be an all around offering (one quiver) with an enhanced technical capability.

I bought these as other runners had indicated they were great shoes. The first time I pulled them on the pull loop on the back tore a little, but I did a little 6 mile trail run and really enjoyed them. I took them on a peak run and they were great on the uphill but terrible on the downhill. My foot did not feel secure and the lacing is simple terrible to try and lock down your foot. It messed with them constantly trying to eliminate rubbing from foot slide, but didn't work. I did another peak with them of 16 miles and same problem on the down hill. The pull loop on the back tore more and the sole started to peel after only 40 miles. Because of the terrible lacing system, the rubbing at the front of the arch and the embarrassing longevity issues I sent them back. I will probably be sticking with Salomon, it's hard to beat their quick lace system.

The Speedgoat 5s were such a great trail running shoe!!! The lacing system for the Speedgoat 6 starts 4 inches from the toe, not 3 inches like the Speedgoat 5. This design makes the shoe feel loose and squishy in the midfoot area. Hopefully, Hoka will correct this error in the next iteration of the Speedgoat shoe.

Platform declined from back to front, giving the illusion of falling forward. Not safe for old folks.

Long time user of the speed goat product: 3, 4, and 5. Purchased the speed goat 6 from Hoka website. The shoes arrived were coming unglued. Just poor quality and finish. I never wore them and returned them to Hoka. Very easy return process. Hoka did a nice job of quickly sending me a new pair. The new pair were much better in finish. I wore them about 6 times, less than two weeks when the shoe string sliced through the eyelet on the left shoe when I was tying the shoe. I contacted Hoka and great customer service. They arranged for the failed shoes return and refunded my money. I am disappointed in the quality control of the shoe and the poor durability of the shoe that was known as a very high quality and durable shoe. I am pleased the customer service is good. I hope Hoka refocuses on the quality of their shoes.

I trail run with these shoes aren't very comfortable. I normally run in Clifton's and the two shoes can't compare as far as comfort. After a run, I'm glad to take them off.

Having bought well over a dozen pair of models 1-4, which were out of the box 15 mile peak bagging perfect rides, I am so disappointed in the redesign of this shoe. The heel cup is so flattened out that if any rock or branch catches the outside of the shoe half your foot comes out of the shoe. The cheapened toe box and side foot protection now consist of some drips of rubber. These are now an expensive pair of sketchers slip ins. Please fix this shoe, I want to be a HOKA customer again.

I have 6 pairs of Speedgoats, 4 years old. The material of these new SG6's feels like old fashioned canvas. Nothing like my older shoes.

I bought a regular size and it was 2 narrow. I then exchange for wide, still too narrow? Will be sending back. The 5 is way more comfortable.

Had to return due to changes in the sizing of the shoes. I have a set of Speedgoat 5's and loved them. The Speedgoat 6's in the same size of the 5's are smaller. For me the issue was the tightness across to the top ridge of the foot.

Wore this for a few weeks and the bottom sole started to split from the top part, and the loop on the back of the shoe tore off.

I've been running in speedgoats since version 2. Most notably Leadville in the SpeedGoat 5 wides. What a great shoe. I was really looking forward to the 6 being lighter and a newer generation. Version 6 is too hard. It causes fatigue in your feet that version 5 (and 4) did not have. I've got a big year ahead in 2025 and am feverishly trying different brands to replace what was a great shoe for the last 6 years. I'm just disappointed how this version ever got released.

Been running in the SG hokas for years. The 5s were the best. I'm wearing some old 5s today because the new 6s are too uncomfortable. I have a calloused ankle on both my feet because of the SG6. Super bummed. Don't go transgender and your business will thrive. This company supports transgender nonsensical meaninglessness. I don't wanna leave a bad review but I think this one is necessary.

Tread is nice, tongue stitching fell out after 4 weeks and the padded tongue split into 2 pieces. The rubber guard over the shoe fabric above the sole is also falling off. Very disappointed.

My first speed goat. Coming off altras, Northface, and asics I thought I'd give it a try as I liked one of the two road running Hokas I have. It's like and wow the sole is stiff not quite hard but no motion either. The grip is decent in light mud on flat ground but do not under any circumstances get near anything wet, the vibram rubber loses all friction might as well be ice. Fits decent and I've had no problem with construction quality 40ish miles in.

These shoes where ok for shorter runs but found out recently that on longer technical runs, I had problems with the sides digging into my ankles. I use the heel lock lacing style. With this type lacing along with the shorter tongue, I have problems with the lacing/ tongue aggravating my feet on longer runs. I didn't have this issue on my speedgoat 5s.

I'm not a fan of the new speedgoat 6. I was a big fan of the 5 edition. I hike about 650 miles a year in desert and mountain terrain. I've bought 6 pairs in the last 2 years and down to my last pair that's not a slick. I was very disappointed when I tried them on and they were too tight. I order only wide shoes these were not as wide as the speedgoat 5's. I played them sole to sole and the 5's were a 1/4 " wider

Hoka was my shoe. I told everyone about them. They changed everything for me on the trails. The helped me knees and feet. I have bought 15 pairs of Speedgoats. I have three pairs of the 6s. I keep hoping they will break in and feel better. Two big changes. My heel feels likes pins are sticking in them, and the change from 4mm to 5mm has impacted me knees. Please change this back or bring back the 5 for an option. I need the wide option. Please and thank you! I just bought a different brand seeing if they will work. It's not what I want because Hoka is my shoe.

got to tell you I purchased a pair of speed goats and found the quality lacking. the insoles slip up on one shoe every time I wear them. the go down on the other shoe sometimes. the vibram sole is coming off on one. I've only worn them about a dozen times for casual wear. too bad, otherwise they seem nice
