These are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. I find myself walking faster and better since I have these hoka skyward X. Don't hesitate to purchase them.

Wow wow wow! So supportive on my feet and I feel the energy kick back when I walk or run in it. Seriously thinking of getting another pair in my a different color because I think it has more support than the Bondi.

Uhmmmmm okayyy Hoka. Moving up and up and up. This platform, bouncy shoe performs like a champ giving you the height you really want while proving that you can love your feet even after your longest, most eventful, active days. So much cushion and spring, keeping inflammation out making it easy to be on your feet ! If you're athletic with a normal or normal to narrow foot at all please down size as they run big.

I normally don't take the time to go back and write reviews. I started walking and jogging a year ago and these are my first pair of Hokas. I purchased these as a birthday present to myself. I bought my regular shoe size and they fit perfectly. I'm 5'10". I'm now 6" which that's the height in my new shoes. This will take a little time to get used too. However everything else about the shoe is amazing. I step in and immediately feel all kinds of support in the heel for my plantar fasciatis. I wear them to run errands my knees and hips don't feel so worn. In the ball of the foot you can feel the impact absorbed and snapped back up like a trampoline. Impressive yes. Can't wait to try them on my interval route.

Not even sure how to put it to words. I thought my running days were over. Now I'm back to super long runs with zero toe joint pain, no knee or hip pain, basically no pain. That's never been my running experience. I'm still shocked by it. THANK YOU!

I was extremely critical on this shoe, given the price point. My first run in them, I was unsure. They started off stiffer than I had hoped and again, given the price, I was ready to return them. But then I gave them another shot and I don't know if I was just off on the first run or what was going on, but I fell in love. I really felt like I could open up and fly in these shoes. After that, I decided I would keep them. I'm writing this review today because I wanted to mention how great they were on my run today; my legs were feeling pretty fatigued this morning and yet, we solider on (right?!), and these shoes were just what my legs needed to get out of the door and get my run in. I found myself forcing to slow down because I really do fly in these shoes. So far my experience has been with shorter and recovery runs. I'm looking forward to trying them out longer distances and seeing how they hold up, but I would absolutely recommend them for the days that you're just feeling a little sore and stiff.

These are by far the most comfortable shoe to ever grace my feet. It feels like they have springs in them. They are so bouncy. The cushion is awesome. They make me want to walk, run and just be on my feet more. I am a nurse with fallen arches, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuromas, heel spurs, and diabetes and these shoes are life changing. Absolutely amazing.

Bought size 7.5 for my sister and love every thing about the Skyward X shoes. However we have to return it because the width is not wide enough (we both wear Bondi in wild width) Please make the wide width in Skyward X shoes available ASAP. We are waiting . By the way the color is gorgeous!

Just ran my first marathon in these and they were absolutely perfect! When I first put them on, I couldn't believe how comfortable and bouncy they were! The rocker shape and carbon plate propel me forward, but the extra cushion ensures I have no pain. I blew my marathon goal out of the water while wearing these. Unreal shoes!!

These shoes are fantastic and feel like your running on clouds. I've been out of running for about a year due to back and foot issues. I managed to run a 5k in these and didn't have any back or foot pain after. I will definitely be buying more when new colors come out.

I need a PLUSH shoe, and Hoka always delivers. I usually go for the Bondi, but I thought I would try the Skyward X, which promised more cushion. It feels great. The price is insane, I think we can agree. And why are the men's colors classy and tasteful while the colors for the women's shoes (the Bondi 9 and the Skyward X) garish and tacky (lingonberry, mint fluorite) or bland (7 shades of gray and white)? I think you can do better. Please consider the following - for the price, we want these shoes to last. That means a good selection of mid-to-dark colors that won't show dirt too easily. We also might need these shoes for more than just running - I am a teacher, and I often wear these shoes to work. I don't mind being showy with color sometimes, but a nice, tasteful blue or green or even dark red (not pink), would not go amiss.
To end on a positive note, I would like to thank Hoka for continuing to produce shoes with a fairly generous toe box. This matters quite a lot to me.

I own multiple pairs of Hokas and am always an Women's 8.5 (as I am in every other brand of running shoe as well), but these were at least a half size too big for me. Will be returning for a smaller size. I did take them out for a run though and really liked the cushion and the speed the plate provided. They did take some getting used to as I've never had a stack that high before. It was tough going up/down hills but hoping that's just bc the shoes were too big. flat surface felt great though. Hoping a smaller size will make these a great option for me on runs!

These shoes have allowed me to walk again without terrible big toe pain (due to recent development of arthritis in final big toe joint) after trying many other shoes. For years, I have successfully used Bondis for everyday walking and Speedgoats for hiking, but they had too much give in the forefoot, which the Skywards X, outfitted with an integrated carbon fiber insole, eliminated. This is the ticket! I would love more options with this construction. I have tried other Hokas with carbon fiber insoles unsuccessfully. Thankfully, these shoes have both men and women's sizing. Hoka's use of "all-gender" sizing is a big mistake for many users, because men and women's feet differ in a multitude of ways, not just length and width. This may be a good step for Hoka's bottom line, but user fit should be the highest priority.
The downsides: since these are shoes that I wear all the time, they call way too much attention to themselves (I long for the look of the all-black Bondi). The tread on the soles is non-existent, so they are definitely not for hiking or walking on rough or wet terrain where some grip is needed. And I'm concerned that they will suffer like all Hoka shoes, at a significantly higher price, with soles that have poor longevity. One final downside is the lack of a loop at the heal of the shoe to make pulling them on easier. This is a nice feature on many HOKAs I've worn, and I urge HOKA to put the loop on all shoes (after all, what's the downside?).

These are beautiful shoes. They fit perfectly. I'm an 8.5 and in some shoes, sometimes need a 9. Not these, 8.5 is perfect. I used to have narrow feet but with age and life events they may be average width now. They look fantastic on, and add maybe 3 inches to my height? Super flattering.
If I had tried them on in a store and walked around, would definitely have gotten them.
If I were standing all day, or walking doing hospital work, I think these would be great for me. Given how expensive they are and all the features, and how well they fit, I wore them to walk with my daughter on pavement for 1.5 hours. (I needed shoes that would be good for pavement as it wears down tread on my trail shoes).
OMG I literally cannot walk now. My feet are in extreme pain. It was actually hard to propel my feet forward as these are like foam platforms. Please note I walk SUPER fast. I think these shoes operate differently when walking slowly or mostly standing, or it may be how I walk (former competitive athlete but usually no problem with shoes). It may be the platform nature of 3 inches of foam and the carbon plate combined with how I walk.
I can't return them since they've been worn (and would not have expected after just trying these on for a bit how these feel after walking). So can't use them for what I really needed them for. I'm praying that my 82 year old mother might be able to wear them (she has bunions) as I think they'd be perfect for her needs and she has a wonderful sense of style.
Again, gorgeous shoes, fit perfectly, feel super comfortable when standing and walking around slowly for a bit, may operate differently speed walking depending on unknown factors? If I still worked in a hospital these would be PERFECT.
I'd also recommend:

I purchased these thinking they would be perfect for 5-10 mile runs. I found them heavy and my foot did not roll as they do in other Hoka carbine shoes. I felt flatfooted and clunky. These are the only Hoka's I've ever purchased and hate.

These shoes hug your feet and make you feel like you are walking on clouds. I thought I had found the best shoes ever. However, my lower legs were in excruciating pain when I ran. This has never happened before- I've been a runner for over 30 years. I usually wear Bondi 8 and the heel toe drop only differed by 1mm, so I'm not sure what caused the immense pain. I wore them for 30 miles- no change. I went back to my old shoes and it's all better. I can't explain it.

While the skyward has a thick cushion, the footbed was stiff. I returned these shoes because the stiffness hurt my heals and didn't allow for my foot to flex.

I usually order Mach 8 running shoes from Hoka, but my size was not available in a trendy color for months. Therefore, I decided to try the Skyward X. Upon first putting the shoes on, my feet were loving the squish comfort. However, the soles are so thick and higher than the normal tennis shoe, that my ankles have given out multiple times when stepping on a small rock, stick, or an uneven crack in the road/sidewalk. I am a speedwalker and tried wearing these on a dirt trail yesterday but almost twisted my ankle. I have also noticed that the arch in my right foot is starting to feel really tight and is pulling on my achilles heal. I will not be buying these again and will stick to the Mach 8's.

The shoes are no doubt extremely cushy and feel great when standing, but with movement I felt my feet were sinking, like walking in mud. I found it difficult to maintain my normal gait and stability.

Love my Hoka Bondis, couldn’t wait for these beauties to arrive. What a disappointment! I’d read they run narrow. Loosening the laces resolved that issue, except now either the sides or laces need to be longer. When I took my first steps, the front of the foot bed felt odd and the heel was unstable.
This may be the coolest-looking sneaker in Hoka’s entire arsenal, but the thoughtless fit begs the question: Was a real live person with average-size feet even involved in their development?

This was my first pair of Hokas and I really wanted to love them but I am very disappointed. First, the good: I love the squishy sole and all the room in the toe box, they are comfortable for walking around hospital floors. But the way the soles flare out at the bottom I keep kicking my opposite foot when I walk. Also, the weird tonge-like protrusion at the back of the heel is annoying and hideous, makes the shoes look very weird. I could have maybe gotten past the heel appendage except that no matter what kind of socks I wear with these shoes they end up siding down over my heel within about 20 steps. No shows, ankles, crew, socks and these shoes just don't get along. For a 225.00 shoe I expected absolute magic. This are overall just a disappointment and I will not be spending money on Hokas again. I was looking forward to learning what the fuss was about but I still don't know and these are going back tomorrow!
