Overall, pretty happy with this after only a few weeks. I have a heel/ankle injury and this is providing me with a mostly comfortable option which protects my feet while not rubbing against my heel. I measure 12.5 and am very glad I upsized to a 14, even though the site recommended a 13. Worth noting that sometimes I can feel some of the shoe's structure on the sole of my foot. This has been minimized by tightening up the lacing.

Wanted to love this shoe, only kinda like. Nice blend of cushioning and support with arch support you rarely see in a sandal. Appreciate the adjustable heel strap, does a nice job of locking down the heel. However, the mid- and forefoot are too wide for me. My feet are swimming in this shoe. Length is fine. Bought these for hiking, but definitely too loose for that purpose - I'll stick with my Bedrocks. Hoka needs to make a Medium and Wide version, these are definitely Wide. Will keep these for casual use. They are comfortable and look great.

The Hopara is a super cushiony shoe, and a comfortable fit. I felt sure-footed and supported during a visit to the canyons of New York City!

The best/worst hiking/water shoes ever! Wore the Hopara 2's for a week, walking around NYC to test the comfort before my vacation. They were perfect, so i wore them the next week for easy hikes, tubing and swimming, etc. After a few days, the right heel loop immediately started to fray. Then the mesh on the left shoe began to pull apart from the sole. I was shocked at how quickly they fell apart after only 3 weeks of casual use. Then there were the blisters from the right shoe (weird blisters where I've never had blisters before). Had to return them when I got back. Hated to give them up because they were AWESOME shoes! The soles were good and grippy on trails, they protected my feet from rocks, dried quickly, were easy to take on/off, and they had stable support. They were perfect, until they weren't.

These shoes look great, but after wearing them for a week, I am questioning my purchase. My feet hurt after walking in them, and I have had to go back to wearing my walking shoes.

Wonderful looking shoe/sandals. I have very short pinky toes and these fit perfect. Unfortunately the color isn't close to the photos. Order the green/gray...very light color gray. Order the tan...it is white cream.

Fit is not as good as hoka usually is, the right shoe does not fit correctly. They are not comfortable . Maybe I just got a defective pair.

I love the first version of these but they are falling apart after years of use. Ordered these and when i was walking the hard toe cap was rubbing on the top of my big toes!! I read another review of the same case. So going to return these, maybe get something different

These are comfy and expensive Sandler so I don't expect them to tear off on 3 months

I would like these a lot more if they didn't have the open back sandal thing. It's just as hard to put on as a normal trail runner so I don't really understand the point other than the heel lock straps keeping my foot from slipping. I wish the mesh would have gone all the way to the back heel pocket. The open back collects rocks and you have to take the shoe completely off to get them out because there are no other openings to try to shake the rocks out. Not a good shoe to wear in the river for that reason. I originally purchased these for a backpacking trip on west clear creek in AZ. I was hoping they'd be a good hybrid shoe to walk in and out of the River but now I'm not sure if I want to take them if I'm going to be taking them off every second to take rocks out of the shoe. Other than that these shoes are great. They're wide and offer really great support. They are super sturdy and are built to really last you a lifetime. HOKA PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER VERSON OF THESE THAT DON'T HAVE AN OPEN BACK AND DRY QUICKER.

Seems like a great water hiking shoe but is just a little too big. I recommend getting a size and a half smaller than you usually would.

This is another reason buying shoes online is just an awful idea overall. I should have listened to comments saying that the pictures advertised for these shoes, are way different than what you receive. It's ridiculous the difference between the pictures and what came.

Ok time to get back to the previous model of hopara... I own myself 3 pairs of version 1 and use them frequently for hiking, river walking and even to go to the office because they are super comfortable and I love their colorfull designs. Version 2 looks like a good idea, specially the back velcro reinforcement which was the only single flaw of V1. But the new upper parts and tongue does not hold good and the mesh material is an horrific trap for sand and smal debris.... ahhh single colors might be okay, but what about some mixed colorfull designs for the happy people?

Despite the improved look and flexibility, the 2 caused blisters and was shorter and less cushioned than my 1s.

I was looking for a sandal I can use on rafting trips and on the rocky shores of Lake Huron. So basically a closed toe water sandal. I have not had the opportunity to try it but was forced to order a man's size to accommodate for the lack of this shoe being offered in my actual size. As a result the width is ok but slightly too small and my toe rubs the top of the shoe. There is an opportunity to create a better water sandal for women in all sizes with closed toes, as the choices are very limited. The shoe is comfortable but cannot rate its practical use, only providing a review to get the company to stop sending emails asking for a review.

I had to return them. Sizing was way off. Much too big. I own about 12 Hoka shoes and none are this far off.

I have bought at least 5 other Hoka products all size 9.5 and they are terrific. I have raved about them which I know lead to other sales. These were way too tight I have a higher arch but nothing too crazy but I couldn't get these things on. While they had an adjustable back strap even with it wide open the inner lining was way too tight. The product was probably fine if I could comfortably got them on.

The original Hopara's were superior in construction and materials used. Hopara2 are flimsy and made with cheaper material. The mesh material that covers the shoe stains extremely easy. Stay away.

The hard rubber toe guard bends down and rubs the tops of my toes; either this is a defect in the shoes I purchased, or it is a design flaw of the shoes. I attempted to return the shoes beyond the 60 day purchase date. I had not worn the shoes. I only tried them on in the house. I returned them brand new in the box. I included a detailed explanation with a post-it not showing where the hard rubber toe guard bends down in the middle of the toe guard, which results in rubbing the tops of my toes. Hoka denied my return. This negative review is not only for the shoe itself but for the Hoka Return & Warranty Department. I am an older runner who is a loyal Hoka customer. I have literally run thousands of miles in Hokas... I was intending to use the credit from the return to purchase another pair of running shoes, probably another pair of Cliftons. For the first time, I am disappointed in Hoka.

I am a big fan of Hoka. I have three other Hokas I use. I basicallay dont use any other shoe. I got this Hopora 2 and the sole is not as comfortable as the other 3. I am not using it. I dont have the box either and thus dont think I can return it. Well, I think I will throw it away.

Fit and size were OK, but the overall quality was lacking. I had the sandals for barely 1 year and they ripped. The soles also wore down very badly.

Beware! It has an open heel. It's like a sandal with a closed toe. It's not a complete shoe. To write a review, I had to give it a rating for comfort and fit, but I didn't try it on.

Like most shoes from Hoka these are too narrow. The quality of the sandal is great. It's just too narrow. So, I had to return it. I purchased a men's size 9, thinking it would be wider, after purchasing a women's size 9 and finding it too na
