Bought Thursday early morning, arrived next day overnight in time for trip to Maui. Go everywhere shoe! Wife ended up buying a pair for her when we came back home.

This is my second pair of Hopara 2 shoes. I have many pairs of different styles of Hoka shoes, from hiking boots to lowcut shoes. All are Plush soles (except the Hopara 2). The Hopara 2 are my everyday go to shoes because they do mot make my feet as hot and sweaty as the other styles and even with the Balanced soles are comfortable enough.

These hop aka opera shoes were delicious and very tender. I braised them with a little salted butter and the bindings just fell off the soul. Served with arugula and achimichurra sauce they reminded me of eating guinea pigs, roasted over charcoals that we had last year in Patagonia (the country not the store)

I've been using this as a summer shoe with socks and without socks. Both ways, it's comfortable and airy. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be, but overall a great balance between weight and cushioning.

They are comfortable and breath well. I think they are more difficult to put on/off. They're more a shoe than sandal. I use them for everyday wear.

For years, I have used Vibram Fivefingers for everything from running (6 miles or less), hiking, kayaking, and fishing. For fishing they allowed me to go in the water and still have my feet protected while not weighing me down by holding water. When fishing multiple days in a row, the Vibrams are difficult to get on and off when wet so I began looking for an alternative. Enter the Hoka Hopara 2 sandals. A 9.5 was a little short so I went with a size 10. They fit well but do stretch/ loosen up more than expected once they're broken in. They still fit fairly well but if they loosen any more I won't be able to tighten/ synch the laces any tighter. They are comfortable when on your feet all day, drain water easily and provide good foot protection. They do, however trap sand and pebbles under foot but that's to be expected in a sandal. I wish it were easier to get them out though. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Hopefully they fix the couple minor issues in the next version.

I have purchased several of the old style and loved them. This new style is very similar, but I don't think the insoles are as good.

Loved the look. Opened the box and was surprised that the heel
portion (by design) is missing. I couldn't tell in the pictures. Even looking back at them, it's truly an easy mistake to make.
Maybe Hoka should find a way to point that detail out better.
I'm too lazy to change my socks is they are becoming threadbare and that's the first place for them to wear.
Only took one out of box. Can't tell you anything more about them.

I use my Hoparas to wear to swimming with limited walking. I like the improved rear fastener (which hasn't frayed with limited use), more enclosed foot, tightener and lace holder. Initially the prominent arch felt hard but it felt fine after initial use. My only caveat is that the 8.5, my usual size, fits perfectly except that my toes are against the end. This doesn't bother me with limited walking but I don't know how it would feel with extended walking.

Wore them for a walk / hike and they did very well. I wish they had more support and the lacing system went tighter

The breathable upper and solid solid make this a great shoe. However, it took a couple of weeks to break in the shoe.

My only complaint is that the finger loop at the back of the heel is too small

Love the look. Love the style. Love the quick shipping. For this brand of shoe, I seen to be right in the middle of two sizes. Sent a pair back that was a little too big. Great customer service, quick replacement. Then the new pair arrives and my toes feel a little crunched.

Thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion. The sandal fits well but I know I would need to purchase one size larger. I like the color as it fits my lifestyle. I find it interesting that strangers I come across look down to view the attractive design and color.

I like the way these shoes fit. They are very comfortable. I have not tried them in water yet, but I see that the insole is made of rubber, so they would be easy to dry out. One major fault these shoes have is that the openings at the heal allow pebbles/stones to get into the shoes. I find that I frequently have to stop and empty them, especially if the trail has a lot of downhill. I cannot figure out for the life of me why they left the heals open instead of covering them with mesh so stones can't get in.

Well built. Great style. Very comfortable except I require a wide shoe in the front. Would buy again but only if offered in a wide.

The Hopara 2s are very well made and comfortable. I did expect them to have a little more cushion. I'm an aquarist I work with aquatic animals all day in salt water. The only thing about the mesh lining is that it holds in the sand and dirt that gets under my feet through the day. They are hard to rinse out other then that very work friendly.

I had a replacement for the high arc in the right shoe and still is the same fit that I will try to get used to.

Should it be nice to come to offline store and try it personally and choose the size based upon tryouts. No offense IT IS GOOD AS ITS PROMISED, true!. You feel like walking barefoot meanwhile your toes are comfortably secured. The 'true to sizes' though real true to size, nothings wrong with it unless you're a man with big calves and small footed (my bad)

We bought two pairs (one for me and one for my wife) for a cruise. I'm a huge fan of HOKA, and these shoes are great with ONE HUGE MUST KNOW: If you wear these in sand, they turn into SAND STORAGE UNITS. The issue is the mesh design vs. the slot/sandal design with NO MESH. They are very hard to clean the sand out of and will hold a METRIC TON of sand (wink). If you're looking for a beach or hiking shoe that works getting wet and you're going to be walking through sand/mud/gravel...keep this in mind. They dry out and hold up great, but that's the major issue we had with them. We used them on our Cruise and the style and comfort is 100% HOKA and we love the shoes other than this one design issue. Using them in water where you won't be sinking into sand/mud they are perfectly fine water shoes, if not exceptional!
