This is my first pair of Hokas and so far I am not impressed. I purchased this style so I could wear them barefoot; however, I dislike the feel of the footbed against bare feet feels like plastic/rubber to me. It makes my feet sweat. I tried wearing them barefoot numerous times and could not get to like it.
Having paid for them I want to try to wear them so I wear socks in them. Defeats the point of buying this particular style.

Just rubbed my feet the wrong way even when wearing socks. I really had high hopes for these shoes. It might fit someone else with normal feet i suppose . But I don't see how this show can be worn comfortably for anyone without socks .

The arch support was hitting my foot in the wrong place and uncomfortable to walk.

I enjoyed the shoe and found it comfortable, but was unable to really test it out because the velcro strap came unstitched when removing the shoe the first time. I return the shoe and am now trying out the women's transport.

I bought these expecting to love them as I have 6 pairs of Hokas (Bondi 8, Arahi 6, Speedgoat 5) and love them... Especially after a calcaneal fracture last December 1, wearing a pair that my Ortho thinks saved me from shattering my leg. #1 issue... I wrote to Hoka abd sadly never heard anything back. Very disappointed.
Then I bought these sandals at a small independent shoe store I loved, but before I could really decide if I loved them, he decided to retire and close the store. When I did start to wear them, they are HUGE. I bought my 9.5... my foot swims in these. I could never wear them because after my tripping accident I am very leery of how shoes fit. My foot easily goes back and forth and they make me afraid I will trip and fall again. I might be ok with a thick ped on, but what's the purpose of being able to get them wet if I need a sock??? So they did but go to Aruba, and even tho I kept trying them, I am super disappointed and they are pretty expensive to be stuck with and sitting in my closet. I am sad and furious...
I did get my husband a pair too and he's fine with them. I have "introduced" and gotten 6-8 people wearing Hokas. I am a huge fan, but these have left a butter taste in my mouth
Btw, how about you update your online quiz to determine the best models, because nothing new is in the mix.
I'd love to be contacted...

Have to return. I usually wear an 8.5 but my toes hit the hard front. Would have been ok in a 9.5.

I wore out my Hopara's so got the Hopara 2. They are comfy and easy to wear for walking etc. BUT, if you're walking in water or a dirt/forest trail, these sandals trap every pebble, stick and pine needle around. Because of the "cover" on the toe box, those little foot irritants can't escape. It's painful and annoying. Disappointed but I still wear them.

I had to return the shoes for a smaller size. Still waiting on the smaller size shoes.

It was loose, so you should size down a little bit.

Shoes run large, feet feel loose and not protected from blisters if I were to wear them hiking. With socks more secure. They kind of feel like plastic which I would never wear. Disappointed.

the shoe is too wide. I have a normal med width foot and my feet were swimming in it. I have to tighten it as far as it can be tightened and then the "tongue" part gets folded and causes irritation at the top of my foot. My normal Hoka size is 8 and the 8 length fit properly.

I was very disappointed that the shoe did not fit. The length was fine, but shoe was too wide to provide foot stability.

There are so many things to like. The elastic around the top to keep dirt and sand from coming in the top. The mesh is well made and fine. The back is open but I really have not had as many issues with debris coming into the sandal from the heel.
But the ankle was just too large and so was the footbed.
I have the Hoka trail model and running shoes and I love them this just did not fit my foot.
The shoe fit the length but no where else.

I was honestly disappointed. I was expecting them to be light weight and they are a little heavy for me. I have hip and back problems so I was hoping for very light weight

I ordered a 7 1/2 my usual size in everything and in my Bondii and I got these in a 7 1/2 and they were way too small and wide. Very disappointed I needed them for my hike..

I bought the shoes because I thought they would be cooler based on the open mesh and the open heel. Because I still needed to wear socks, the shoes were not noticeably cooler. Sadly, the foot base of the shoe did not have the padding that my other two pair of Hokas have. I bought gel inserts to remedy the problem but they were only somewhat effective. I did not return the shoes and will still wear them on occasion. I would not recommend them to others. My two other pair of Hokas are awesome.

Okay so I love the color on these but def disappointed in these areas: 1. all my other HOKA shoes are size 9.5 - these are too small in the same size. I am assuming my long skinny foot can stretch the fabric but in these the rubber tip and the way the shoe is designed, it kind of runs smaller. 2. shape of the front - if you are a larger foot size for a woman, all my other HOKA's show how skinny pointy my foot is which is pretty sweet - these have overall very wide look and the chunky shape of the tip just looked so massive on me in my size. Please guys just make the same shaped sneakers in mesh! so much better! 3. I get why the shoe is designed to be durable even with the mesh, but I it felt bulky on and so plasticky - it felt like my foot would sweat a lot in it. Didn't try it on in the heat or anything but I kind of feel like I can tell :(

I have many pairs of HOKA shoes, and most are beyond comfortable for my 'many problemed' feet. I have severe arthritis in my big toe and heel spurs so finding a good shoe is important for my daily walks. These fit as expected, maybe a bit wide as compared to the Clifton 9 (my favorite). The problem is with how they are 'laced' with the NON stretchy bungee type cord. This cord, when your feet swell, cuts into your foot and makes for a long walk home. I've tried them several times and always come back and change my shoe. It's been way too long to return them so they are going in the give away bin. So sad they didn't work out for my feet.

They fit but were very large looking like I could trip over my own feet. Like clown feet , not for me. Returned them

The fit was different than my shoes from this brand.
I did size down as was recommended.
The width was narrow above the arch.
The footbed material was stiff.
The foot bed felt like the original Earthshoe brand.
The quality and look of the item were exactly as pictured.
It may be that this is the wrong shoe for my foot.

I really wanted to like these but they are just way too big which is very unusual for me. I wear a sz 11(women's) and these are big even with socks and then they make my foot look even larger. Loved the concept and was really hoping to love them but they just don't fit well. I feel like I would slide around in them on a hike.

The size is good but the arch does design is uncomfortable & does fit my feet.
I completed a return but unfortunately the house keeping staff at the resort discarded the box.
I have returned home to minnesota & wondering if I get still return shoes (not been worn). Can I place them in a packing box without the original box to be returned. I have completed the return online.
Tried wearing the Hopara 2 hiking sandal in our room at the resort but they are uncomfortable due to poor fit for me to wear. Can I get a refund or exchange for another model?
