I liked the idea of the updated Hopara 2 with the mesh to prevent stone getting in. But they have less neoprene, which may make them cooler, but allowed the mesh to rub against my foot when I walked briefly around my house in them. I have very sensitive skin and ended up purchasing the original Hopara. The unisex sizing on the original Hopara fit just fine, even on my slightly narrow feet.

I use the sneakers to run errands, do my knee exercises, for around the house, everywhere. The problem is pulling up and down on the strings to loosen the shoes enough to get them on and off more easily.

I am new to Hoka except for a pair of recovery sandals I wear indoors and I DO love them! They take the place of going barefoot (forbidden by my podiatrist!) and my feet feel better. I resisted getting regular Hoka shoes, also recommended by podiatrist, as I just don't like lacing up all the time and have never worn "tennis shoes" except for on the courts. I liked the idea of a sandal like this Hopara and was pleasantly surprised when I tried them on in the store. I don't do any hiking or off-road walking but these do the job on my regular walks. I'm getting more used to the adjustment of the heel strap, and trying to forget the ease of just slipping into my Skechers in seconds. I will have to keep my big toenail shorter than usual, as there seems to be some rubbing there, and side fit is not as snug as I am used to. But they ARE extremely comfortable while walking and I do not regret the purchase!

I bought two pair of these, one for me and one for my daughter before our trip to Costa Rica. It was between these and Keen water/trail sandals. I decided to try these. Our main purpose for them was to be able to go tubing and hiking in the rainforest without switching shoes. They did not disappoint. They were comfortable even when wet, provided great traction on the rocks, and protected our feet from the rocks when going through the rapids. They fit true to size. The reasons I did not give them five stars: I didn't feel like they dried any faster then regular lightweight shoes and we both got a couple raw spots on our feet when we walked/jogged on the beach. Now to be fair, I think the sand getting into the shoes and being wet is what caused the raw spots; so next time we use them for the beach, we are going to try wearing some water socks with them. I'd buy them again. I think they are great for hiking in damp conditions and they are probably going to be good lake/boat shoes.

Great product for us wide feet (bunion) girlies. The only complaint I have is that tiny rocks could get in through the back Velcro area, but it was nice to be able to adjust the back so a catch 22 I guess.

Good part , comfortable all day. Bad part , awkward up get on. Would like more openness around toes

These shoes are extremely comfortable and they look great. The only downside is that for a medium width (B) they are very wide. I have adjusted the strap on top but then the shoe looks buckled.

The ordering and return process were simple and seamless, but the product wasn't right for me. 4 stars for great customer service and interface.

The only issue I have is that they are difficult to get on over the heel but otherwise definitely worth buying!

I returned the shoes because I felt the color was not like the picture online and it looked bulky on my foot. I did not get a chance to wear them so I cannot give my opinion on comfort or wear of the shoe.

I have loved my Hoka sneakers for years. I have just had hip surgery and needed really good and supportive cool summer shoes too. I love my Hoka sandals. They fit perfectly and give me great support. I do wish it was easier to slip into them. More colors would be great too so I could have several pair.

I really like the mesh they allow my feet to breathe and I don't overheat in them I do love my Hopara I as well it's nice to have a choice. I am on my feet 10 hours a day and suffer from arthritis and neuropathy that is sometimes crippling Hoka saves the day . Again.

Women's 7.5 feels a half-size too big. May exchange for size 7. They do feel comfortable other than size and I think they will be a go-to shoe this summer.

Love the look and feel of these over the Hopara, but they are much less supportive. I'm a supinator and hypermobile, with metatarsals that like to sublux, so I need house shoes. I'd hoped these would be it. Sadly, they didn't feel very supportive and the soles were almost thin. If you used these outdoors, you'd feel every rock digging into your feet. Maybe that's a plus when stomping around a riverbed, but probably not anywhere else.

I purchased my normal size 7 1/2 and the size is ok. Next size up, my foot felt like it was swimming in them. After only a short distance, both sandals started to rub right underneath my ankle bones and took off the skin. Unfortunately, I had to keep walking in them and by the time I took them off, they were bloodied. Since they are meant to be worn without socks, there's not much I can do about it other than tapping my ankles in the future. Other than that, they are comfortable and I really want to love them. Well, I can't return them so I might as well make them work somehow.

Ordered by mail. Was expecting them to fit similar to my new Bondi 9's but these were very wide. Unfortunately had to return.

Just learned from looking back at my previous orders that I ordered the size too large and will now see if I can get an exchange.

The, these second generation Hope era hookers do not have the same qualities of the first. The fit is not snug and the material is different. I gave them good try more than once and I love the color but other than that I couldn't find anything positive about them!

I anticipated the Hopara 2 would be at least somewhat cushioned. They really aren't. They also are VERY wide. I was hoping they would be something I could wear without socks, but the width will not allow that. I am disappointed with the purchase, but will figure out a way to use them (Other than my original plan for use).

I feel the arch support is less, and the toe box feels more flimsy in the new version. In addition to the elastic lace in front, there's an adjustable velcro on the back which makes it so much more annoying to put on. I usually put on and take off my hoparas multiple times a day so it adds a big pain
