Shoe size fits well and feels good but already falling apart. Hoping it's a one off thing. I started running in these mid Feb and they're blowing out on the side early April. I've had 2 of the older pairs and they never blew out the side like this and felt like they were more durable. Hopefully they're taking these reviews to heart and can improve on a newer version. On a side note, would love to see "wides" available in variation of colors but understand that's potentially a hard production cost.

The lining on the front of the shoe is peeling off already making a hole in the top of the shoe. It's only been about a month. I think the show is very comfortable and fits true to size but I don't expect it to hold up to any real hiking or walking.

These are narrower then the 6 which I had bought two pair and not nearly as nice. Shoe laces are so thin I've already had to buy new ones and the top of the toes is wearing already. I've only had them for a month and I still have a two year old pair that I hiked 500 miles in and the tops didn't wear through. I've been wearing Altras since the company first started and have loved them until now. I'm trying other brands as these are too narrow and won't last the year at this rate.

I have been using Altra for a long time. I can't even remember when was the last time I used shoes from a different brand. This may be my last pair, now that there seems to be a growing 0mm competition. Why? The shoes are ugly. They look a bit like a random design rather than an effort to create something pleasing to the eye. Just got the Dusty Olive and it is nothing comparable to the images. In reality it is just a shiny green and orange mistake. And that is probably the best option this year for LP. I was very sad when I opened the box. I need a new pair and there's no other color option that could be better. Luckily, the monopoly is ending! Other than the looks, it is basically same as LP7, with minor changes to the upper. I reckon the durability will be as bad as that of LP7.

I loved the Altras when you made that toe-bed really wide. I am sorry that you have gone the way of other shoe manufacturers for what appears to be a "look" rather than a function. I notice that you do not offer a WIDE option for width either. Hopefully you can hear some of us who love your original idea for the health of our feet.

The color pallet is laughably atrocious. I wish there was a single color that looked good. At least give us a black upper + black sole combo. Please, I'd like to buy more.

I find the laces to be obnoxious. Why are they long enough to throw over my shoulders? I have to double knot them and then stuff the excess into the interior of the shoe. As such, it is quite the process to put these on. They are a commitment to wear rather than an easy choice. Shorten the top long laces, seriously.

This is my fourth pair of lone peaks. The tread may last 6 months if lucky. Whoever decides colors needs to realize not everyone is into your ugly bright choices. I will keep buying them do to fact they are very aggreable to my flinstones feet. But listen to you customers and fix the tread wear issue and have some colors for people over 35 who are not trying to attract attention to themselves.. Thanks

I have worn every series of LP's. Several pairs (different colors) of the 7's. I was so stoked to get the 8's but after 7 miles, literally, I'm returning them. The toe guard has fully delaminated from the cloth on the top of the toe box. I will try another pair and hopefully raise the review.

Despite being designed for trail hiking, Lone Peaks are good at doubling as work shoes in a business casual environment. None of these new colorway options would be appropriate in that setting. It's a bummer because I don't like many of the alternatives from other brands, but I'm not really left with any choice but to shop around for something a little more neutral and toned down.

Lone Peak 6s were one of the best shoes I've ever had. The 7s and the 8s are narrower, toe squeezers: even in wide. Unfortunately, slightly less durable as well. Hoping for improvements in the future.

I am a fan of these shoes for comfort and playing disc golf. A main problem I have Is they don't last. I burn though these shoes. The soles don't last. The toe could be a touch more reinforced.

I love the Altra Lone Peak and own a couple pairs of each of the last few releases. But with each new release the colors are increasingly ugly. I mean, sure make one of the choices a wretched teal, why not? But how about one that is neutral/grey/green/black? These shoes are so comfortable and durable I wear them all day at work as a carpenter. But hard to imagine buying one of these terrible lone peak 8 colors. Bummer.

I wish the Lone Peaks had better color options and really, this goes for all of Altra shoes. I love Altra and their shoes but I often time look at Hokas more simply because of the color options. Everyone doesn't like these bright or semi-matching color schemes.

When LP was made in all-black and all-grey people bought them to wear on the street. Altra shot themself in the foot and killed that market.

Can we please get a wide lone peak that is black? Why are there so many unappealing colors... why are their not more wide options in general?

I own multiple pairs of every generation Lone peak. Gen 6 was the only one I did not care for. These gen 8s are two steps back to the gen6. The day I got my first blister with the gen6 lone peaks I went out and bought up every remaining 5th GEN I could find. These lone peak 8s are basically another 6th gen shoe with minor differences. The material for the uppers is very thin. It allows too much extra room. So thin that you see your toes flexing under the material. The 7s had a soft Felt material under the uppers, ripstop nylon to give the shoe more structure. The jury is still out as the shoes are still new. But so far these are a step back to a generation, that literally no one asked for.

I used up 2 pairs of Lone Peak 7 and loved them so much! The quality of LP 8 is not as good. The arch support is not as good. I had to purchase inserts because the LP 8 hurt my feet too much.

Altra used to be high quality. No more. The rubber is already separating around the top after 2 months. My LP 6s had stitching (these don't) and lasted until the sole lugs were completely gone.

Loved the shoe, until it started falling apart after 3 months. For the price, I'd have expected it to last much longer. The fit was great, but even with normal wear the soles gave out in 3 months.

Some of the most comfortable shows you can buy. I've owned 3 pairs now. However I cannot give this a good review because of how bad the durability is. I bought a brand new pair about 4 months ago and they are already completely worn out and I can't even wear them. Highly disappointed because I love the fit of these!

Since the outsole/tread is not durable and my size is regularly out of stock, I'm not sure what the point is. Shoes are not like other clothes that you wear for years and then replace with something different. Running shoes need to be instantly replaceable. So maybe don't sell a shoe and size that wears out so quickly and you're always running out of.

I have worn Altras for years! The Original foot shape is the only shape that has worked for me. I ordered a pair of the Lone Peak 8's because they were listed as having the Original foot shape. Unfortunately the forefoot and toe box are more narrow than either of the two other Altra shoes I have. This is evident both in fit and by comparing the sole widths. I spoke to someone in customer service who verified that the Lone Peak is supposed to have the Original Footshape, but something has changed.
