Lone Peak has long been terrific and continues to be so, even though they do wear out, compressing and collapsing, singularly quickly. What I find truly inexplicable and annoying are the weirdly long shoelaces. The LP 7 and older models didn't have this, and they are really annoying, difficult to avoid stepping on. I thought this was so odd that i called Altra, which directed me to other shoelace companies. I don't need help finding alternative shoelaces, and I would think Altra would take it upon itself to fox this readily fixable problem. Nonetheless, I love my Lone Peaks.

As someone who has had difficulty with sore feet in the past, I have yet to have any issues with these shoes and I am going on 100 miles with them. Comfort, breathability, traction, and best of all I can spread my toes.

I have very wide feet and very large feet in the wide top box provide exceptional comfort without causing any toe rubs or calluses. I generally want three to five miles a day on either pavement or sand. These shoes are exceptional and I plan to buy the new model when it comes out. I'll wear the shoes for about 3 months or 300 miles whichever comes first. They wear exceptionally well. I have tried multiple, multiple shoes these are much better than Hoka, Brooks, are other so-called maximum cushion wide shoes.

Use for trail running and at the gym. Finally, a Lone Peak that's just like the LP 5, my favorite. Altra returned to the nice length again like in the LP 5. Still a nice wide toe box. Same cushion and sole. This shoe feels like a return to the original LP that is my favorite. I also have the Via Olympus 2 that I use for road running. Both excellent. Only one con. The LP model could use one or two conservative color choices for men. For now, I have the black/green version but it has yellow soles and laces. I swapped the yellow laces for black and it looks better.

I work outside on blacktop fixing dents on cars. I've been through many styles of barefoot shoes to find the soles wearing through quite quickly. The altras provide some extra sole support still with a minimalist feel.

The Lone Peak series is legendary. I've been wearing them for well over 10nyears and wouldn't trust any other shoe for basic trail running. Perfect fit, roomy toebox, stable, supportive, and gator attachments. I just bought my wife the 8's. Her Lone Peak 6's are ready for retirement!

I love the Lone Peak and I love that Altra keeps making it such a great shoe. I have worn several versions of these over the years, and I love the small improvements they've made with this model. The fabrics are awesome, durability on the upper is bomber, and the sole is wearing very well after 3 months of regular use. Can't say enough good things

Great shoe, but do we really have to celebrate Halloween every day wearing them? The colors are out of control. It would be so easy - all white, forest green, blackshoe itself is a do-anything beast.

I've had 4 Lone Peaks and this is probably my favorite version. The cushioning is great. The materials are light and durable. I wasn't sure about the colorways though. I finally went with the "black/ green" which is more of a blue/ grey tone. I like it!

Just finished the Camino hike in Spain and my Lone Peaks were great. On Trails, Roads through Cobblestones these shoes did not disappoint. Big shoes box with Zero Drop, light with great support. Love this shoe!

Did not fit on my hands very well, especially while cooking. Were great for throwing at the cat, if I had a cat. I do not recommend driving with them on your hands, as much as I love my new car.

I have a not only a wide toe box, but also a wide mid-foot near the outer arch and heal. This is the only wide toe box shoe I have found that is also made in wide. Honestly, I could even have the rear of the sole a little wider (since that is where laces can secure the foot) and that would be fine by me. I am a forefoot runner and love the lone peaks. I have started wearing poditry essential toe spacers in the shoes as well. I find I don't need to size up to wear the spacers. Running with them definately activates different muscles and I am working on building to longer times, similar to when I started running in the zero drop, lone peak 5's.

Please make these colors nature again like dark green, brown, blue, tan, gray. Those were so cool. I mean bottom line, I'm hooked. I've bought a pair if not multiple of each Lone Peak generation. But please more options.

Finally a trail running shoe that fits right! I've always had trouble with fitness shoes fitting my foot shape properly: my third and forth toes inevitably feel cramped and end up rubbing against the way-too-narrow toe-box. Not so with the Altras! These are very comfortable and fit my foot shape much better with the nice wide toe-box. I spend a few days trying them out on the treadmill to get used to them. I've worn zero-drop shoes before, so it wasn't too difficult of a transition for me. This past week I tried them hiking in Vermont, and I was really impressed. We did a short trail with a muddy, snow-covered section on a steep hill. These shoes gripped perfectly the entire time, and I felt confident going up and then back down the slick trail.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. My foot is now shaped the way nature intended. I bought the Lone Peak 6 a year ago, now I own the Lone Peak 8.

I use these shoes to hike, bike, and just daily general use. The wide toe box lets your feet expand like they naturally should. I got rid of all my Nike, puma, and Adidas.

These shoes feel a little narrower than my current Timp 1.5's. But Inthink they will feel better once broken in.

I bought the 8s to replace my 6s after many miles and multiple competitions. Overall enjoy the new updates to the shoe. I would prefer some different color options, but overall these are excellent.

I started my journey with Altra Lone Peak 5 and hiked the tread about 1/2 gone. I was actually looking at different brands because the buzz in the hiking community was that Altra had done away with the iconic wide toe box. While I was busy wearing out my lone peak fives I tried on the sixes and sevens and to me it did feel to tight in the toe box and was a visibly smaller design. Altra thankfully went back to the wide toe box that the fives had and I love my new Lone Peak 8 trail runners!

I haven't gotten to go on any good distance run or hike as of yet with it being winter time, but so far these are the best feeling shoes I've ever had. They are light weight and you can hardly tell you have them on, tje traction is amazing on ice for certain. These shoes were sent to me to review but my next pair will definitely be a purchase. And I will update when I go on a substantial hike. But I'm 100% positive that my review will only tell you tonget these shoes.

These are the most comfortable running shoes I've owned so far. They fit perfectly, true to size, and don't take long at all to "break in". I love the style of these too!

I owned 6 pairs of the lone peak 6 and absolutely wore them everyday doing everything from hiking, working out and to work. I only bought 1 pair of the 7 and felt it wasn't as good. The lone peak 8 looked closer to the 6 and was a little firm at first and it bent them a little up and down and side to side and it loosened them up and feel great. I love the bright yellow!
