Remember in the Lone Peak 6 where they would stitch the toe guard? And it wouldn't come apart? I've had LP 3,4,5,6 and just bought the LP 8. Toe guard is only glued/laminated and coming off in less than 6 months and 50 miles of light hiking.

Been usinf Altra for the last 6 years or so
Last year I warrantied one pait that cracked on the part wher the shoe bends
This year I warrantied another pair that delaminated
Bothe pairs were less than 2 months old
This brand new pair of LONE PEAK 8 is already separating after few weeks

Since being acquired, Altra have ruined the Lone Peak by changing the design of the toe box so it is no longer 'foot shaped' and far too narrow.
Their motivation for this is to attempt to appeal to a broader swath of customers, but in doing so, have simply alienated (former) devotees.
At the same time, the Lone Peak in 'Wide' is, in practice, unavailable because of absurdly small production runs. To claim the Wide is an option is nothing more than a disingenuous platitude.
Extremely disappointed.

Third day of using my peak 8. I use them on the plane and when I finally reached my destination realized the toe box is separating from the top of the shoe.

Why are the larger sizes always sold out in wide width ?

Bought my first pair of Altra Lone Peak 8's after reading many reviews and hearing common quality control complaints. I bought the shoes online from a 3rd party vendor. I had the shoes for less than a month before the toe cap started to separate from the mesh. Contacted Altra and they told me because I bought from a third party vendor who was not part of their authorized retail list they would not issue a replacement. Not even a month of ownership and less than 15 miles of use. If Altra can't stand behind their product and do better quality control, I don't think I can recommend or use these shoes.

These were so comfy right out of the box but the sole lugs were 80% gone in about 4 months of wearing as an everyday shoe. Pretty ridiculous life span with no recourse for replacement. Why not use the Vibram?

5 minutes into my third hike with these shoes I looked down and saw they were falling a part. Don't buy these shoes and run, don't walk to return if you have bought them. Very very disappointed.

I've been trail running with these shoes for 4 months. After only 4 months the side of my shoes seam broke leaving a gapping hole as shown in the picture. For trail running shoes to break after only 4 months of use is pretty ridiculous. I asked customer service for a replacement, but they were not helpful.

This show is literally almost 1/2 inch narrower than a different size 10 I bought from this same company. Are you just making up sizes?
Horribly disappointing and so narrow as to be useless.

I ran in lone peaks for the last few years. Quality is poor, outsole is junk. I'm done.

I have used Lone Peak over the past few years and have enjoyed all the models expect the 8. My fore foot is sore after a few miles. Will order different shoe next time.

You got me hooked with the lone peak 6. Finally found a running show that fit (13w). Now it seems that if I miss the new version release by a week or two all of the 13 wides are sold out.

I am cursed with wide feet and when I found this brand years ago, it felt as if the shoe gods were finally smiling down at me. With that said, what happened y'all?! You were the best, now your product has gone down hill. I thought the whole point of your company was natural feeling shoes. Make true wides again, and don't only give wide options with the ugliest color option. I still have hope, for line peak 9s. Don't fail me and my fellow hobbits

I have had a pair of Lone Peak 8 for less than a month, the rubber and mesh materials above the toes has already started separating. Use of the shoes has been casual wear (around job sites), and two hikes. Altra touts themselves as a high end, quality brand, that they are not, and if dive into their past reviews it shows this. Customer service has also been poor, I have received emails back from three different people, with different instructions. Altra does not do direct exchanges or replacements, I have to return the item, and then re-purchase it.

I received my shoes in December and 2 months later with minimal use, they are worn out and the ankle areas have holes in them. I reached out to support as I have had 2 pairs of Lone Peaks before and didn't have an issue, but they said I was "wearing the shoes incorrectly" and it's not a quality problem. In all my years, I haven't had a shoe that deteriorated so quickly nor have I come across a manufacturer that woudln't stand by their product... until Altra. The shoes are comfortable but don't expect them to last. Unfortunately, due to my experience with customer "support", this will be my last pair of Altra's... Doesn't sound like I'm alone after reading other rreviews...

I hike/trail run anywhere from 8-25 miles week. I bought every iteration of Lone Peak & last good ones were the 5s. When will you start listening to us? Heel cup, colors, sole & quality all awful.

I just took these shoes on a little 3 mile run. It was the first and last run I will using these shoes for. I recommend going for virtually any other trail shoes.

The color options of the last few years have made me very reluctant to buy any more. For me, the strange color combinations are almost clownish. I'm not sure who you are trying to market to.

I haven't been able to buy a pair of Lone Peaks since their last all-black version two years ago. As I wait for Altra to figure this out, I've been happy with my Inov8 Trailfly G 270s.
