Unfortunately it seems like all of cushion and cloud like feeling of the merrel 2 has been removed. Hopefully the tread will last longer than the 2s. I had 126 miles of north east hiking and lost large chunks of the souls on the 2. The 3 seem like they have good grip, and have been waterproof, but only have 20 miles on them.

This is my 3rd paid of Merrell mid-hiking boots. I currently have 2 pair of Moab 2 mid boots, waterproof and non-waterproof, and I alternate wearing them depending on the weather and time of year. I purchased the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Gor-Tex for better waterproofing. While the construction of the boot is excellent, I find that the boot length is slightly smaller than the Moab 2. The bigger issue I have found is the comfort of this boot. My other Merrells were comfortable out of the box. I can and do wear them all day with any issues, not so with the Moab 3. I have been breaking them in over the past few weeks and they are still somewhat uncomfortable. The Moab 3 has a firm foot bed and the liner material is hard and uncomfortable which I think is the issue. I've compared the 2 liners and found that the liners in the Moab 2 provide more cushioning than the Moab 3 liners. I think Merrell boots are an excellent product in general, I am somewhat disappointed with the Moab 3.

Definitely should have ordered at least a size larger…and wider. These run much smaller versus my experience with other brands. Too bad. I really like how they look and Merrell brand but had to return these.

Bought these last year, but just started wearing them. Quite comfortable right from the get go, however after only 2 weeks of wear one of the material eyelets broke. Now just waiting for the rest of them to break or tear. I will not be buying Merrell footwear with these type of eyelets ever again. I do not recommend these to other consumers.

If you like wet feet for the price then this a boot for you. I absolutely hate having wet feet and 6 months of ownership and these boots have leaked constantly. I don't recommend this boot if you want dry feet. Walking in light rain today and my feet were cold and soaked. I'll be looking elsewhere for waterproof boots next time. This is my second pair of Moab's, the first were great, can't say the same about these.

I've been wearing these for 2 months. They feel terrific for the first two to three miles of a hike. Then the bottoms of my feet start to hurt really bad, as I can feel every pebble and twig under foot! I did 6 miles in the woods Saturday and my feet still hurt on Monday. I'm definitely not out of shape, as I walk 5 miles after work most days. Not a big woman but I have a wide foot with a high instep so I wear a 9.5 wide men's. It feels as if there is nothing between my foot and the ground. They're awful.

I recently bought a pair of Merrell shoes recently and found the sizing to be off; they feel quite narrow. Additionally, after wearing them just once, I observed small pieces chipping off from the bottom. It almost seems like they've been around for a while, and I'm questioning the material quality.
