Im loving the Moab 3, I have a pair of the Goretex, and the standard Moab 3. I work construction, hike, hunt, and fish. I have support and comfort for all the outdoor activities I do. The Goretex keep me dry and warm, and the Standard give me nice air flow on them hot days. I recommend you giving them a try!

We had a winter vacation plan, ski in Idaho, we did just that and more. My boots were perfect, my feet were warm and dry going from boot to ski was easy. I even used them for a few snow shoe hikes in the meadow. Thanks for a quality pair of hiking shoes I am sure to have more adventures in. Yes I would recommend these boots.

Have these boots for several months, I wear them every day. I live in the mountains and walk my dogs on the trails almost daily in the rain, snow thru mud and puddles no leaks feet are dry and warm. I wear them for everything yard work, cutting/splitting wood they clean up easy and always look good! Comfortable to wear.had to replace the insoles in both cause my Labradoodles got ahold of them! Excellent product.

Have to admit, I like my Moab 2s better. More comfortable and easier to get on and off. Still, I'm really happy with these Merrell boots.

Just wore them for the first time during our snow storm and they kept my feet dry, which is why I bought them. Waiting to find out if they will keep my feet warm in sub zero temperatures.

Great shoes. I wish heels could be replaced. I wear over heels on any shoes so that I eventually have to replace long before the top of the shoes is worn out. Merrell: Please offer a heel replacement service!

This pair appears to be very well constructed and felt comfortable initially. What surprised me was that small pieces of sand/debris somehow got into the boots (mid-rise) after only few minutes of casual walk in a trail and made the rest of the hike very uncomfortable.

Great Fit Right out of the box!!! Im a big fan of MERRELL hiking shoes and even use them for cycling shoes. This is NOT my first pair of MERRELLs by any stretch as I only buy MERRELL hiking shoes and boots now, but this is my first pair with the Gore-Tex waterproof technology. So, Im very excited to see how they perform in wet conditions. Very comfortable though.

I average about 6 pair each year for work, and for the most part I have liked them. There were times when I was disappointed for example, when the GORETEX failed to keep my feet dry, the laces constantly breaking after several wears, do to the metal hooks, that cut through them, or like now, I just received a new pair, and one of the eyelets on the boot was already broke, when i took them out of the box!! If im going to pay 165.00 a pair times 6, then these need to be of better quality.

In general, the hiker is basically what I was looking for. I had a difficult time with my preferred color choice during my search. I prefer a hiker that covers my ankles, and to blame myself, these hikers only cover the lower edge of my ankles. My right foot hiker squeaks when I walk. I hope that goes away. The color, appearance, GORE-TEX, Vibram, and grip pattern are excellent.

I just finished section hiking the Appalachian Trail over the last 11 years and MOABs are my footwear of choice. I do lots of hiking and backpacking and wear out a pair per year. I keep a new pair ready to go still in the box in my closet. Always catch them on sale. That said 3 recent pair have came apart at the sole in less than 100 miles one was a warranty replacement for a pair that did the same. Merrell is very unhelpful with any warranty claims. I have only had one pair replaced in all of the pair's I've had the same problems with some of course were MOAB 2 s. That said I recommend these boots. Buy them on sale. Never expect warranty service and you will love them. I use special insoles not the factory ones.

This is the second pair Ive purchased, they fit well out of the box and I wear them through the winter. My only complaint would be that I had one of the shoestring eyelets break on my previous pair.

The last four years Ive owned Moabs and loved them until I bought these. The redesign of the bottom has me questioning buying another pair. There used to be grip at the front of the toe box and that helped ascending up the mountain, not there now. The rubber seems to not grip as well. I slipped on more dry slaps of rock with these then I have in the past. I really think your R&D need to hike the northeast especially the Adirondacks to see the conditions we consistently deal. If design stays this way I dont know if Ill buy another pair.

I want to love these, but I dont. They are super hard compared to my Keens from last season. Hoping they will break in over time, but my Keens were never this hard at the get go and are just as supportive.

Purchased these for an Iceland trip that my daughter and I just took. Did not break them in prior to the trip and felt like they had been broken in already. Feet were always dry, the gripping of the sole is superb over mud, rock, gravel etc. I wore these to every waterfall hike we did and a short 7k trail. I would highly recommend them. I cant speak for longevity as Ive only had them for two weeks as of this review. The fit is dead on, Ive got Merrell tennis shoes and they seem to run narrow but these are spot on for my size 11.5.

I picked up 2 pairs of the Moab 3 Mid, one with Gore-Tex and one without. I had bought a cheaper pair of Merrell's at a discount store years ago and wasn't impressed, but my coworkers swore by the Moab and I decided to give them a try. So glad I did. These were purchased primarily for work, where work is mountain maintenance - dirt trails, erosion ditches, single-track courses, water run-off systems, rocky scrambles - I get through it all in a day. I get a lot of all-weather exposure, too; and sometimes it feels like I see all four seasons in 24 hours. But I'm putting in miles on pavement, mountainside, and at the office for the last few weeks and man, I love these boots. The pair with Gore-Tex are noticeably heavier in hand, but once they are laced up on my feet they don't feel heavy at all. Although I bought the two pair so that I could have hot day and wet day options, more often than not I just end up taking the waterproof ones out on the hill with me. It's so nice to not even have to think about soggy feet and where I'm stepping. I would recommend some upgraded insoles, but the boot itself is just an excellent piece of equipment, and I'm already thinking I will buy them again. Plus they're great-looking. I might have to grab the low-top for excursions into urban settings.
