Perfect!

Look and feel good. Give it a moment to let the leather soften. Recommended but if you have a wider foot these may feel small.

I haven’t yet decided if I’m keeping them yet. I am thinking I may use another color more. As for comfort, I’m confident that with time these will soften and become like my other Birkenstocks. The only odd piece is that the large buckle hits my arch a little more than I’d like. Even still, they’re more comfortable than most other brands of sandals I have.

I have the Madrid Buckle and decided to try out the Big Buckle. They did not disappoint.

Love these sandals once they are broken in!

When I first tried these on, I thought “gotta send them back” because my foot slipped around too much when walking. However, I tightened the strap by one hole, and it made all the difference. I love the look of them, and once my foot imprints in the sole, they should be perfect!

I love these sandals. The buckle is oversized and chic. People are amazed that these are Birkenstocks. Buy them!

true to size

I got these shoes in a narrow and they are just right. I am going to use them as my dress-up shoes! They are so cute with the big buckle and the shiny patent leather!

Love these! This is my second pair of Madrid Big Buckle. I only gave 4 stars for comfort because they do require a break in period. The style says they are narrow, I do not have narrow feet and these run on the wide side, and I have the buckled on the tightest. I get so many compliments on these. Definitely a dressier style and can be worn with everything! I tried the black patent leather style as I wanted a gold buckle option but they are not as comfortable as the oiled leather. I am in between sizes in Birkenstock and typically wear an 8.5 or a 9, I purchased the 40 in these because I don’t like when my little toe and the toe next to it hit the edge of the shoe.

Love this sandal! I'm a huge Birk fan of course but this is the first time purchasing the Madrid Big Buckle and am so happy I did! The sandal has the classic Birkenstock fit and comfort that I've always come back to, but the shiny brass buckle brings up the fashion a bit. I'm trying to hold back from purchasing another color. Will see how that goes..

Love the style and fit.

Love the Madrid Big Buckle. So cute and, once they are broken in, they are so comfortable. I have a high instep so I break in the footbed fairly quickly and without discomfort. For me it’s the tops that take time. The leather straps in this style are initially pretty stiff. I have a few pairs and a couple of them had hot spots that, if left untreated, would have created blisters. I never got any blisters from any of them as I used a waxy leather conditioner on both sides of the straps that hastened the softening. I coated both sides of the straps 3 or 4 different days and it made a huge difference in how they felt. It softened the leather. By the end of one week the footbed was breaking in and the top strap was comfortable! It worked for every pair. Don’t give up on these cute Birks. Condition the strap like a baseball player would condition a new mitt. They will become some of your favorite sandals.

I love birks and these have to be one of my favorites!! Super comfortable and stylish! I love the big buckle on these! I wore these to the zoo and had no foot pain. I’m a size 6.5-7 and I ordered the size 37 (6-6.5) and the fit is perfect!

I love these! I do have a narrow foot and these are perfect. Much improved on the Madrid big buckle from last year with the plastic foot bed - this is cork and feels great. The color is a great neutral. Very happy and recommend. (Oh, mind are still a little squeaky when I walk but it doesn’t bother me!)

These slides fit perfectly. I wear the same size, 37, as I do in other styles from Birkenstock. They are very comfortable.

I have this same style in Cognac. I wanted a summer feel so I went with white this time. I wear the same size in this slide as I do in my other Birkenstock’s. These are very comfortable.

The Madrid Big Buckle is a great updated style slide. I have the Cognac which is a beautiful color that stands out. I opted for the black for another option. It fits well at my regular size in Birkenstock’s.

The big buckle makes the Madrid much hipper-I have 2prs-may need to order Narrow width,however,as Birks tend to run wide

I first purchased these in the Antique Cognac Leather, but I really disliked the extremely shiny gold buckle. It was a little too much for me, so I returned them and purchased the white ones and I love these. This is my third pair of Birkenstock sandals. I have plantar fasciitis and I can wear these all day with no pain. These are marketed as narrow, and I do find them more narrow than the Mayari style, but I don't find them much more narrow than the Gizeh style in the regular width. I wear a size 9 and have these in a 40 and they are perfect.

I love these shoes! I’m usually a size 10, but ordered a size up because of how the shoes cradle the foot inside the footbed part. They are really versatile and look good with almost everything. The leather takes a bit to break in. I ended up getting some other colors and a nubuck pair that I really think will feel the best. I never thought of myself as a Birkenstock person, but these are really stylish and modern.

Super cute alternative to traditional Birkenstocks styles. I think these will be great in summer with dresses, jeans, etc. Still breaking them in, so hoping I get used to the large buckle when I walk. (I think I will.) PS I finally figured out that women with regular-width feet should wear a narrow in Birks.

I love theses shoes. I'm happy with my purchase & will wear these often.

Love the look & fit! They would be more comfortable if the leather was softer. I purchased the white & really like that the footbed is not cork but lined in white. Looks a bit more dressed up than the typical cork footbed in my other Birkenstocks.
