The foot bed is not like any other Birkenstock I have owned. It is smooth leather and not comfortable. It seems like quality control needs some improvement as there is glue coming out all on all parts where the sandal is glued together. There was even some on the inside arch that was causing pain just while trying on. The glue made it look like they could start to separate at any time. I was really hoping these would be a winner since I am on my feet all day. Thankful for Zappos wonderful customer service and hopefully accepting my return (fingers crossed) as there is no way these are worth the price.

I haven't worn Birkenstocks in over 20 years but have seen how people raving about them lately. So, I bought the Arizona in copper metallic from a department store. I loved the look but noticed a scuff mark before I even got to wear them outside the house. I came here and discovered that many have reported that the shoes scuff very easily. So, I returned them because shoes that are this expensive shouldn't scuff so quickly. I decided to try the Big Buckle because I like how the buckle elevates the shoe from the standard Birk. I bought the fire red because I love a pop of color and thought they'd be cute for fall. (I live in Central Texas where sandal season lasts through November.) When the shoes arrived, I knew I'd be sending them back. They are not the vibrant red shown here. Instead, they're more of an antique, slightly faded red. There's nothing wrong with that look, but it's not what I was going for. I can wear an 8 or 8.5, depending on the shoe, and bought 39, which fit perfectly. The foot bed was very hard, but I understand it can take a while to break in Birkenstocks. Had the color been what I wanted, I'd have been ok with the breaking in period. Alas, I had to return them. Given my experience with both shoes, maybe this means Birkenstocks just aren't for me. ?????

These are cute, but the sole of the shoe is covered in black leather and it’s HOT! Makes my feet sweat so much! I like the style of the shoe but would prefer the regular Birkenstock footbed.

This review is for the apricot nubuck Arizona Big Buckle with a white sole. I wear a lot of orange so I'm always looking for a comfortable orange sandal. Only a University of Texas alum could love this sandal and I actually went to law school there. This color combo is so clownishly wrong that I didn't even try them on - just put them back in the box for return. (I did try the black big buckle which was fine in all regards.) This shoe does not look better in person.

Wanted to love the BIG BUCKLE, but looked ridiculous on my feet. All I could see was the HUGE buckle.

So cute and comfy. However, the liner on the white is uncomfortable and doesn’t allow your foot to breathe. I’ll stick to cork footbeds from Birkenstock.

these are super cute sandals. love the big buckles! however, not a fan of the leather footbed at all. my feet stuck to it all the time and I don’t have sweaty feet. I returned these because of the footbed.

The big buckles are very cute, but unfortunately, the one at the toes is positioned too close to the toes for comfort. The leather under the buckle completely covers my smallest toe and half of the next smallest, so when I step it digs into the top of my toes. The fit of the regular Arizona strap is at the base of my toes, not covering any of them and does not dig in. Too bad Birkenstock did not position the strap the same. One other unusual feature to be aware of: the interior (of the white at least) is a smooth leather instead of the typical suede.

Awkward fit- the sides were uncomfortable against the outside of my foot, the footbed too long but the buckles on their tightest were still loose. They are great looking and I really wanted to keep them, but the fit just wasn't right.

Even though they are listed as N the advice was that they fit a M but I did not feel this was the case. The big buckle was too shiny and cheap looking for the weathered look leather. I returned and ordered regular soft bed Birks which I love.

I will keep the shoes but not happy that I accepted narrow width because supplies are limited at present.

I wear a small size and I thought the big buckles would be fun, but they're way out of proportion with my feet! Going with the same shoe, little buckles.

Even when buckled, they didn't really hold my foot in place. And those buckles are big.

These are beautiful but if you’ve been buying regular Birks they will be too small. I’m so disappointed as there are the look I wanted. Birkenstock told me the new trendy styles are only coming in narrow right now which really annoyed me. Anyway, I returned them today.

I am a Birkenstock faithful and have owned countless pair over the years, due to their uber comfort and quality. That's why it pains me to write this review. These are hands down the most uncomfortable Birks I have ever owned. The leather does not feel or wear like it is oiled. They are still extremely stiff after months of breaking in. And it really disheartens because they are ridiculously cute! The adorable big buckles are a perfect style snip but I'm afraid these are going to be passed on to a friend with more foot pain stamina. Wah wahh...

I did not like the white lining on top of the foot bed. It squeaked as I walked. I prefer the traditional Birkenstock liner. Too bad because I liked the style a lot!

The narrow Berkies have not fit me well, a little too long or too short, I'm in between 38 and 39- there are super cute, if you like bright shiny( huge) gold buckles. Also, the soft sole doesn't seem to have the same support as the regular sole. Too bad, since the unisex widths are often too wide.

These look great but they are stiff due to the leather footbed.

I wanted to love these. I really like Birkenstocks, and have a pair of brown sandals I wear almost daily. I love the updated style of the Big Buckle, and was hoping they would work. The reason I am returning these is the rock hard footbed that hits me in all the wrong places.

Cute oversized buckle feature, Birkenstock going for a touch of updated style. The color is very dark blue, nice. My problem was the buckle placement overlapped onto my smaller toes, scratching the skin. I wanted to like them, but they went back.

So cute-love the style! However, the leather is not as comfortable as birko-flor.

I bought these sandals to wear in the winter as slippers, so I never wore them outside. They are very comfortable, and big enough to wear with socks. The only problem I have is that they are very uncomfortable when kneeling or sitting on my heels, which I have to do often to take care of my pets and play with my granddaughter. That and well, the style is kind of clunky/ugly (imo), but they are Birkenstocks!
