Out of the box, the Brooks Glycerin 21 looked really sleek and comfortable. The color scheme of my model, being black on black, is very minimalistic in a good way. Although I usually tend to lean towards brighter colors when it comes to running shoes, I was quite surprised how much I liked the black on black color scheme. This color scheme greatly helped minimize the evidence of use as well which is very beneficial in my opinion. The fabric used is very soft and both inside and out, and has stood up very well after about 100 miles of road running. The fabric on the inside is extremely comfortable to run in. It feels silky smooth and did not cause any kind of rubbing that could lead to blisters even on longer distance runs up to 10 miles.
Two things I was initially concerned about were the size of the midsole (stack height), and the width of the toe box. The stack height is very tall and I presumptively thought this would provide too much cushion for longer distance or faster paced runs. Although I always lean towards a shoe that provides ample cushion, I was worried the Glycerin 21 would be clunky and cumbersome due to this along with the increased width of the toe box. To my surprise, I was proven very wrong. Instead, I quickly surprise, I was proven very wrong. Instead, I quickly became a huge fan of this shoe. They provide a cloudlike ride and there is quite a bit of pop to counterbalance the cushion. Never once did I ever feel that these shoes were uncomfortable in any way. They were very lively even during faster paced runs. I was under the impression that I would fatigue during tempo or long runs because of the maxed out cushion. I actually grew to love the large stack height and my feet did not feel confined neither in the toe box with its added width. I actually became a big fan of having a bit more room in the toe box than I am used to. Sometimes I experience some foot numbness due to shoes being too confining. Although I had a snug fit, I never experienced this with the Glyverin 21s. Combined with the fabric inside, these shoes are extremely comfortable to say the least, and I never noticed any increased fatigue in my legs. In fact, I experienced the opposite. Although I was initially skeptical, these shoes have really won me over.
After about 100 miles of road running, the shoe as a whole has stood up very well. They are just and plush and springy as they were out of the box. Both the fabric and outsole have shown very little evidence of wear and tear. What I have grown to like the most, is the increased width of the toe box and the cushiony spring the Glycerin 21 provides. I have considerably noticed that my legs feel overall less fatigued running in these shoes, and my toes are happier from not being as cramped. In conclusion, I cannot really find anything I do not like about the Glycerin 21s. Overall, I truly believe my next pair of running shoes will be another pair of Brooks Glycerin 21s.

These are my new go to's. I wear them daily and it literally feels like walking on air. As a retired Veteran and lead in a warehouse, these shoes were definitely made for walking, as well as running, jogging, crossfit..you name it and these sneakers will be your best friend. The sneaker sole is sturdy and ergonomically correct, it includes padding as well. I love that they are all black so they match anything. My workouts amd feet have definitely seen a great improvement since using these.

I'm a rather large guy, 6'3" and 325 pounds, so having a shoe that feels supportive but not too soft is important. This shoe definitely hits the mark for both of those ever so important criteria for me. I've managed to put on a couple miles per week since receiving the shoes and am very thrilled so far. Minimal break in time and comfortable. I love the style of the shoe, all black is hard to find in the bigger sizes without a custom order and I was thrilled when I found these! If I could change anything it would be to widen the toe box just a small amount for more room for the toes to spread out.

I'm no longer a runner, but a senior citizen with Morton's neuroma and massive bunions. I sang high praises of the Glycerin 20 shoe, and am even happier with the G-21s because my poor, beat-up old feet require maximum cushioning and great width. The G-21s provide perfect cushioning right out of the box; with the G-20s I still had to use $80 prescription-only inserts. The uppers give plenty of roomy stretch and, so, my bunions are as happy as the bottoms of my feet. I ordered a second pair of G-21s immediately.

Really dont like how thick the sole is getting at all. Is like every brand thinks they need to change their shoes to become Hokas. Clearly that style is popular and hot right now, but then just come up with a model like that (I thought that was what the ghost max was for) but dont keep messing with a flagship model. Asics did it with the nimbus as well and its frustrating. Alot of us want a good NORMAL neutral cushioned shoe but dont want 3 inches of foam under our foot.

Overall, this is a great running shoe. I tend to run shorter distances a few times per week (3-5 miles at a time), and these fit the bill! I run a mixture of indoor on a treadmill and outdoor, when the weather is pleasant enough. I've tested these in the gym several times, but just once outdoors thus far. The fit is great; I have average foot width, and the shoes fit comfortably without any heel slipping and without being too tight. The sides of the shoe feel almost cushioned and are very comfortable, but still lightweight and not too bulky. I noticed that they did not trap in heat or moisture, which is always a plus. The traction seems to be very good as well - the one time I ran outside, there was some water/slush on the ground, and I did not have any issues with slipping or sliding. The shoes felt very secure.
The only negative for me is that the shoes are a bit higher off the ground than my typical style. It felt almost like wearing a platform shoe. I'm hoping this is something I get used to with time, but has definitely felt a bit odd to start out.
The design of the shoes is straightforward and looks very similar to other running shoes I've chosen in the past. I tend to go for more neutral colors, so I appreciated the black option.
Despite the feeling of elevation, I really like this shoe and will definitely continue to use it for its designed purpose. Would recommend to any runners who run less than 8 miles or so at a time, but that is typically my limit, so I can't say how it would fare in terms of comfort or durability beyond that. Again, overall happy with this product!

These sneakers are wonderful for running. I find that my feet and legs are alot less sore after starting to use these sneakers. I have been running casually for exercise for a while but never invested in a good pair of running sneakers. Now that I've tried these it's a game changer, you can really feel the difference. The sole are thick and cushiony and provides great arch support. It's hard to explain but because of the shape of the soles, the shoes kind of help propel you forward and leads to a very smooth run. The toe box is wide enough that your toes have space to spread out with each step. And the fabric is breathable which is very important to me because i hate when my feet get hot. I think these run a tiny bit small, next time i might size up just a half size.

Its definitely small. The color options were limited and like most Brooks I am ok with it being an ugly shoe because of the comfort it brings. This is isnt comfortable because of the small build and on the top of the foot it feels restrictive as well.

I run about 25-30 trail miles weekly in Brooks Caldera 6s (1,500 miles 4 pr.) and have been using a more worn pair on the road. I dont usually run on the road much but thought I should see if one of Brook's road shoes is incorporating a similar nitrogen infused sole as I had been adding some road miles in recently. The Glycerin 21 does and shares the same 10mm drop. Worth a try. Upper is different being more breathable and woven and the tongue more padded with different laces, but the foam feels good in the same way the Caldera does though while not as wide a platform. The forefoot space and overall fit is good. A main priority for me. A fit similar to the Caldera which was my goal. I'm 67 and so appreciate the quality of cushioning the new nitrogen infused midsole has. Neither too soft or hard. It also seems to hold up well providing good cushioning life. I like the color options as well purchasing the 429 - Blue/Nightlife/Black. Ran a few miles today to verify fit and suitability and pleased with my purchase.

I have been running in Brooks shoes for the last 20+ years. I typically go for the Ghosts, but have used the Glycerin in the past. I found the Glycerin to be very comfortable and an excellent alternative to the Ghosts.
The Glycerin 21 feels to have more cushion than my Ghosts. My first thought when I saw them was that the heel cushioning looked huge! The shoes are surprising light weight considering the amount of cushioning the shoes have.
The shoes fit similarly to the Brooks Ghosts. The toe box is roomy enough to be able to move your toes around but not too much room to allow movement and create blisters.
I usually select shoes with a lot of color but the all black, including the cushion and sole look great. While they cant pass off as dress shoes, they certainly look a more professional that white or other brightly colored shoes if you want to use them for everyday wear.
The fabric over the toe area is lightweight, like most running shoes, so running outside in winter can leave my feet cold. But I find that to be the case regardless of which shoe I wear, so I cant fault Brooks for that. And Ive been running inside on the treadmill lately anyway as Im more of a fair-weather runner these days.
Unfortunately, I havent had a chance to take them on a long run yet. My longest run in the shoes was only 6 miles. They Glycerin have been extremely comfortable since they day they came out of the box. I havent had any blisters or foot pain that I sometimes get breaking in new shoes.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with Brooks Glycerin 21 and will continue them in my rotation with my Ghosts. Im looking forward to trying them out on a nice long run when I have a chance!

The Glycerin 21 is a great shoe for walking and/or running. I wear walking/running shoes about 90% of the time when putting shoes on for going to the store, walking, taking jogs around the block. The Glycerin 21 fit true to size and feels great on my feet. I love how much cushion it provides as I do not feel fatigued or any stress or pressure on my feet after wearing them for 8+ hours in a day.
The design is simple, which I don't mind. Nothing that stands out but good shape to fit your feet. The fabric is great as well. I feel like my feet can breathe and I have no issues with it getting too hot or cold. I love just how comfortable these shows are compared to other brands I've owned in the past. I would say these are probably the most comfortable shoes I've worn to date.
One minor thing I would change, is just how bulky the sole is. That may be why the shoes are so comfortable but it does look like it bulges out and sticks out a bit. Other than that, the shoes work great and look great!

I picked up a new pair after having an older model years ago that I switched away from to Mizuno. These remain a great shoe for both casual and serious runners. Durable, supporting, and comfortable. They are a little heavier and bulkier feeling than some competitors. But provide a soft cushioned landing and plenty of arch/ankle support. They are also very well made and durable, so should last you a while. A good show to have in your rotation if you are a regular runner that is putting in a lot of road/hard surface miles.

I have been trying the Glycerin 21s for the past couple of weeks and have really enjoyed the feel of them as I restart my winter short-runs after the holidays. They provide a good sense of cushioning for my feet, yet also feel supportive and light weight. This is helpful, particularly as I train through some minor leg pains.
The design of the sneaker is also good, providing plenty of breathability for my feet, particularly on my longer runs. While I am only a few weeks into using them, they feel well made and I don't have any concerns about wear-and-tear on them.
I am a big fan of Brooks running sneakers, and based on my experience with the Glycerin 21s, I will continue going back to them next time I need a new pair!

I'm pleasantly surprised! I thought the extra cushion would slow me down, but I ran faster without intentionally picking up my pace. My only complaint about the Glycerin 20 was that the tongue moves and rolls at the edges. I don't know if the tongue has been redesigned for the Glycerin 21, but it didn't move or roll. The shoe is also warmer. Toe box in roomy, the shoe is extremely cushy and yet the design seems to propel me forward. I've only taken one run in them, but so far, I'm highly impressed.

As someone with flat feet, I often find difficulty with the right shoes that work well for my weekly short runs of 4-6 miles per run. I've been an avid runner for many years consistently making it part of my training routine. For years I have struggled to find shoes that work well for my extremely flat feet, trying nearly all the other major brands without much success. These shoes felt worth a try given the obvious amount of cushion for added comfort; being in my mid-thirties, I'm starting to pay more attention to recovery from my workouts and felt these shoes may help.
The Brooks Glycerin 21 offers a great fit with a welcome amount of room within the toe box area specifically, but not so much that it feels overpowering. Compared to my other running shoes in rotation, there is a noticeable amount of increased cushion and softer impact underfoot. I've also spent many training sessions of shorter interval runs in my cross-trainer style shoes but they are often too heavy for anything more than a HIIT workout. The increased support of the Glycerin's over my trainers and other running shoes was immediately noticeable.
The modern and streamlined appearance of my all-black Glycerin 21's certainly emphasizes functionality and style, especially in the toe area. I've been doing a lot of running outside in the cold weather and was initially concerned that my toes would become cold due to the lightweight material upper of the shoe, but it seems to blend the right amount of support from the elements with weight.
I was pleasantly surprised at how light the Glycerin 21's feel underfoot. I had expected that with a thicker sole for increased comfort they would feel heavier but the material of the upper portion of the shoe is very light, breathable, and pleasant. These shoes provide a soft, plush, and almost luxurious ride making it ideal for longer distances or those who may prioritize comfort over aesthetics.
The one thing I would change is the shininess of the outside soles. While the shoes are all black in an almost stealthy way, the thick shiny black sole made it feel more appealing for someone much older than myself. It's a small unpleasantness that has no impact on how the shoe performs, or what it looks like from the runner's perspective while wearing them, however.

Truly a terrific running shoe. I am a true size 9 in shoes, however I tend to have to get a 9 wide because most size 9 shoes run a little narrow. However, the Brooks Glycerin 21 shoes have the perfect width and run TTS. The laces are not long enough to do a runners knot, but it really isn't needed since they have such a comfortable fit. I also really love the sleek design and look of the shoe as it matches really well with most of my closet.

This running shoe feels better than others I have worn however the style isn't as versatile. This shoe has a lot of support in the heel and seems to help propel forward in the front, it took a little getting used to the front propelling aspect as at first it seems like you are going to fall forward. The sole of the shoe is larger than most and doesn't seem to be proportional so that is where the style becomes a factor for an everyday wear. I would've liked the sole to be a matte finish rather than the shiny to lessen the draw of attention to that area. I will continue to use this as my running shoe and switch to something else for running errands.

The Brooks Glycerin 21 are true to size and fit my feet snugly, which is exactly how I prefer my running shoes. As a moderate pace short distance runner, I was impressed by the stability and comfort. They are light weight with significant shock absorbing qualities which make running on hard surfaces not only tolerable, but enjoyable. The material has a soft quality feel that is breathable making it so my feet didnt sweat. This running shoe has a modern, thoughtful design that has me excited about running again. I particularly like that the flat laces stay tight and the removable inserts are easily replaceable. I wouldnt change a thing.

These are a solid pair of runners that are lightweight, comfy, and a bit snug but in a positive way. I was worried at first when I had read that it came with wider toe box, but actually that, along with the padded heel, was probably my favorite part of the shoe as it fit just right.
It's pretty soft on landings, but not particularly more or less than any other pair of shoes I've worn in this price range. Material quality wise, you're getting what you pay for and no issues on that - Brooks does it right and I feel like these will last quite a while especially if you are rotating amongst other pairs. All in all, it's good, however for the price I would prefer great, not just good.
