Ordered the navy one. The color and fabric was great, not too heavy and soft. However, I found the fit to be not quite right. It was wide in the shoulders but narrow in the body and the sleeves were wide. The overall size was also just too big. The 4 petite was sold out and customer service told me that the only difference between that and misses was the sleeve length & inseam; I purchased it thinking I could just get the sleeve length altered but it wouldn't have made a difference, I was swimming in the coat. Petite women tend to have smaller shoulders, they should adjust for that to make it more proportionate or offer size 2 for those who are on the smaller side.

I am 5'1" and 140 lbs. I ordered the 12 petite and while the hood and shoulders fit well, the body was way to narrow. I ordered the 14 petite, and the body was still tight, but the shoulders were way too wide and the hood, when up, covered my face. Sadly, I had to return both, but the quality of the coat, the finishing touches, etc. were exceptional and I wish I could have kept it. If you are tall and more narrow than me, it would be a great coat for you!

Unfortunately, I had to return this coat. As much as I loved the style, the arms of the 6 were too short, and the torso of the 8 was too big. I am 5'7", 135 lbs, 36 bust, 30 waist. The shoulders/back area seemed oddly tight on the 6, but maybe I just have weird proportions. I agree with the comments that the buttons and toggles should be made of nicer material; I think people would be willing to pay for that if they are already spending what this coat costs. The coat is nice and warm and the zipper is well-constructed although I could see myself getting frustrated with the double zipper. Maybe if there are some changes in the future I will try again.

Had to return because the coat hung crooked, unzipped one side was inches higher than the other, zipped up the shoulders were off, wife sent it back and got another one, she's happy with that one, the only negative was she thinks they run a little small

Zipper does not engage when aligned have to zip coat when it is off of me then step into it.

I love the look and feel. I've had issues with the zipper since day one. It doesn't zip up or down smoothly and I end up struggling with it. I've resorted to only using the toggles to close the coat

As I am a size 16 for all my garments, I ordered this coat in that size. However, it was too snug in the bust, so I exchanged it for a size 18. Same problem! There needs to be more room in the bust, given the nature of the coat's fabric, I believe. So, sadly, I will need to return it. Please, if possible, make this coat with more room in the bust for those who are more endowed in that area. Otherwise people are going to continue to return it.

Really like this jacket. Disappointed because it is too tight across back. I got the medium. Which is my usual size

I really liked everything about this coat but the zipper did not work. Called customer service to send a replacement and they said to put the coat on a flat surface like a table then work the zipper up & down. After that, apply dish soap on the zipper and work at it. Nothing worked. A very nice coat, expensive and would have kept it if it wasn't for the cheap, cheap, unsupportive zipper. I read reviews with zipper issues but liked the looks of the coat and it was just what I was looking for so thought I would give it a shot because there were a lot of satisfied customers. Returned with great disappointment.

This coat runs on the small side. I even sized up when I bought it so I could wear it over sweaters or blazers. The coat is made of quality materials and is very well constructed.

Two way zipper is difficult to use, wife doesnt like it.

Disappointed in this beautiful coat. Zipper is awful and does not work most times. Leather is not used for toggles and vinyl. Dry cleaning a problem.

This is the second time I bought and returned this coat. The first was a few years ago. The construction has changed a bit so I was hopeful it would work this time. Sadly, I returned it. The sleeves were kind of tight and stiff and the shoulders were very broad. I had no trouble with the zipper; it seemed fine. I bought the Size 14.

Well made coat. Loved the hickory color. Good fit in shoulders, chest, and sleeve length. Unfortunately, too roomy in abdomen and hip area. I was sad to have to return it. I'm 5'5" and weigh 135 and ordered a size 10. An 8 probably would have fit better around the mid-section, but would have been tight in shoulders and chest.

Although I loved the look and lambswool material of this coat, I returned it as the zipper was a huge problem! No matter how I tried, I could not easily get this zipper to work properly. I am not "zipper challenged" and, in fact, my present winter coat, which I was trying to replace, has a similar zipper closure.

It has a nice classic appearance. When I put it on the body fit as expected but, the arms are too baggy for the body. There was also a problem with the hem on the right front. I would smooth it and it would ride up a few inches awkwardly. This to me meant the lining was not sewn right at that spot/pucker. Ugh, I really hoped for it to work but it did not. I returned coat.

Definitely a good quality coat. The pockets really are small and in an awkward position. The lining of the coat is very nice but there is a strip of the wool fabric right at the neckline and it felt very scratchy against my neck. Not sure why it was there. That was the reason I returned the coat.

I am 5'3" - athletic 140 pounds, 36D bra size. Based on the recommendation on LLBean's website, I purchased this Duffel coat in size Petite8. It is the same size I ordered for the Women's Peacoat. The Classic Lambswool Peacoat (short) was huge but the Duffel Coat (long) fit perfect except the sleeves were a little too short - same size, Petite8. It seems like both jackets should fit the same. I ordered the Hickory Heather color in both. Although I like that color on the longer jacket, I don't like it in the shorter peacoat. I love the length and the quality is excellent. I will probably order both a regular6 and regular8 to confirm which size fits best. Once I get the right size, it will be a great jacket for Colorado winters! Too bad this jacket is not sold in the local Park Meadows store and has to be purchased online. That wastes a lot of time and expense on shipping.

I was glad to find this coat has a zipper! But the pockets are too small for stowing gloves & there are only the 2 slash pockets. The hood doesn't stay on if there is any wind. I chose 2 sizes above my usual & it is still tight in the biceps. I can't wear anything heavier than a dress shirt under it.

Love this coat. It is very classy looking!!Fits perfect!Can be worn dressy or casual!

I am not sure that it fits me correctly? The Zipper is on the reverse side making it difficult to zip..

The coat fits well and is beautiful. But I have struggled to get the zipper up the two times I have tried it on tonight. I have never seen such a cheap quality in LLBean products. I can't decide whether to keep it or not. I might give it a chance, but how much am I going to hate a coat that I have to struggle to get zippered? I am seriously considering having the zipper replaced, but it doesn't seem right that I have to pay so much money for this coat and immediately have the zipper replaced.

I bought this coat. Super warm and comfy. But the fake leather on the buttons rubs off right away and makes it look icky.

I love this coat the quality, the fit, the style, but unfortunately I had to return it because the zipper (a two-way zipper) works about 10% of the time.

I should have listened to the other reviews on this coat. It's true, the zipper is super tricky. For reference, I don't have any dexterity issues, nor do I have any trouble zipping up any of the other coats that I own. This coat is really beautiful, the wool is soft and gorgeous. I feel it runs true to size. (Ordered a size 6, which is my usual size) I will say the red is a little more on the rust colored side. I would have kept it if the zipper worked, but it took me 10 tries to every one success. I don't have time for that. Sadly I took it back. I would buy it again in a heartbeat if they put in a better working zipper.
