The toe box is very squared off. My second toes are longer than my big toe and jam up into the squared off toe box of this shoe. I am normally a 8.5US mens size, but I suspect I needed a 9.0US for this particular shoe.

Bought these in size 12 and the arch support section of the shoe is too narrow. The edge of the arch support digs into my arches. Had to return

These are my only shoes. I wear them for everything. Love them. Would love a stiffer back so I don't need to use a shoe horn. These will last me a good while. I am mostly in a wheelchair these days and walk only a little. Love the fit. Wish I'd know them as a kid. Just right for me.

its a nice boots comfortable ,roomy, but the only bad, is the only bad design is the last 2 hooks for the shoe lace sometimes comes out the shoelace and it trips you because it gets the opposite boots's hooks, and I can be fatal. on the video where the CEO explains the boots it shows the white one and it looks that has rings the last 2 instead of the hooks,I think is better design for the shoelace and more secure .Hopefully they change that for the next boot.

This is probably the only running shoe I've bought in ten years that is my actual shoe size. Very lightweight and comfortable, bouncy feel for walking, and a much lower stack height than my beloved HOKAs. How far are they going to go with the stack heights before they become 1970's platform shoes, lol. As much as I loved these for walking, I have to say they wore out crazy fast. They still looked good but the sole build simply collapsed. Sturdy they were not. Looking at a different Topo model now for walking.
I'd also recommend:

The mid foot and heal are great. the build quality is why im switching from Altra. BUT ON GOD, IF THE TOE BOX WAS BIGGER LIKE VIVO ID BUY 3 PAIRS RIGHT NOW!!! Please Topo team review reader, just tell me all future topos will have a wider toe boxs so I can just stick with this 1 brand for life. thank you PS are there any OSHA compliant steel/ composit toe boots coming? Construction is an untaped market in the zero drop foot shaped shoe world.

Love the feel of the shoe and the roomy toe box. My only complaints are there is only one color in the wide version and that the cushioning inside the heel seems to wear quickly. I am on my third pair of phantom 3s and both pairs wore a hole in the cushioning in the right heel. I haven't had this issue with either my Atmos or my Ultraventure 3s.

I bought a pair for backpacking and loved them do much I bought a pair for work. I'm a carpenter and work on hard floors all day. I wish they had a little softer insoles because there's not quite enough cushion for me. Great if you're walking but not so great for standing in place working

These shoes are great just feel a little less stable than the Phantom 2. Maybe more narrow? That said I'm lining up my December -January buy when they tick over 500 miles

I switched to Topo's about a year ago. I have a wide foot so the roomy toe box is great. Although the toe box is roomy, the heel still locks down well. I use the Phantom 3 for easy miles. It has a good cushion but I still have some toad feel. I'm on my second pair. The first went almost 400 miles. It would be a 5 star review except the color way on wide is very bland. #sweepstakes

Tried these for 3 weeks, did hill sprints, walking and running 3-5 miles once a week. Pros: toe box is perfect size, fits feet well Cons; too much cushion in the sole, but that is more preference

Finally, a wide with plenty of toe room and some cushion for this overweight body to walk in comfort. I love my Hoka but the toe box is not wide. Back to Topo!

Very comfortable wide toe box running shoes. Have had these for a few weeks and my only issue is cosmetic wear, though I don't mind that if they hold up overall for the longer term. These are comfortably standard running shoes with a more natural foot form that seem to work well for me. #sweepstakes.

I love the size of the toe box of these shoes, it is nice not to have my little toes hurt after a 10 mile run. I did have to check out a few sizes to get the right fit. I usually wear a women's 11 in running shoes but ended up purchasing a men's 10. Super happy with them. #sweepstakes

These are great, the toebox is so roomy and the heel is perfectly snug. The only thing is the slight inconsistency between different models. I have the ultraventure in size 9.5 and assumed it'd be the same in these boots but it's actually too big. I'll be using these as my winter boots with double socks, but cannot use them as regular boots in cool weather. I liked these enough that I'll be buying them in size 9, though! They're actually waterproof. I stepped in a deep puddle that went up to just under the top of the boots and my feet were dry and warm (it was in the low 20s at the time!).

The anatomical foot shape is the BEST of all brands I've worn. Zip foam is a little firm and doesn't have a ton of bounce. The shoe also doesn't transition particularly well, it feels "flat". But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the last shape - it is actually shaped like the human foot!

A little stiff out of the box, but comfortable once you break them in. Fit true to size.

I've been wearing the Phantom for years and it's always been the shoe I reach for when doing longer, slower runs--you know, 80% of your weekly miles are supposed to be easy ones, right? Well, this is the shoe for those miles. The upper on this version feels a little smarter but, other than that, I don't really think there's a major difference between three and two. A caveat, I've not work the Phantom for a while as I've been into the Specter, which I think is the go to for racing or more uptempo miles.

Trying out the new Phantom 3. I have about 80 miles on them on mostly sidewalk, paved surface, and boardwalk in Maui. The only thing I noticed is the heel collar feels a little stiffer when I first put them on. So far it hasn't aggravated my heel well running. I am happy with the purchase.

I normally wear size 13 in most brands, so I ordered size13 in the Phantom 3 (which is the largest size in this model). Right away I noticed my big toe grazing the top of the shoe. I wanted it to work, but over two weeks of giving it a try, I had to return them. Other than that, the shoe felt great. Too bad there's no 14 in this model. I will try the size 14 Aura. Hope it's not too tall.

Bought a pair of waterproof specifically to hike the dientes de navarino circuit and the Patagonia O circuit. Broke the shoes in on the three El Chaten hikes, the when I hike the Navarino, the seam above the big toes split/gave ou in the rocks, snow, sllet and wind. This was disappointing because of leakage walking thru mud to finish the trek. The seem on boots didn't split any more on the o circuit. In general I would recommend a different selection if you are going to be humping over rocks in challenging, cold and fully water logged conditions. The breathable version of the boot was my favorite for hike in the northwest with only occasion rain, but has been discontinued. Please offer a breathable boot!

I have put about 200 miles on these boots in two months and will retire them early due to injuries they caused (dislocated toe). Simply put, they are very comfortable but - for the reasons I get into below - not suitable hiking boots. Compared to brands like La Sportiva, Scarpa, Solomon, and Keen they simply don't offer enough protection and support to justify wearing them as hiking boots. Pro: - Extremely roomy toe box, almost feels like wearing sandals - Sole is adequately grippy on a variety of surfaces - Very lightweight - Waterproofing is functional Con: - Ankle support is very poor. Truthfully, these are hardly better than low-top shoes for ankle support. - Toe protection. I dislocated my toe wearing these shoes. I didn't even know that was possible. I fell scrambling and hit my toe against a rock and it got dislocated inside the shoe. I am convinced this is due to the toe box design, I've had tens of similar falls in other boots with zero issues. - Inconsistent step feeling, I can't tell where my foot is on the ground through these shoes. This makes it hard to be confident in your foot placement. - The waterproofing works but these boots reek like no others I've ever had. I have to keep them outside because they stink so much after hiking. I wanted to give these a try since they're super light and the fit out of the box is amazing. However, I now understand why other companies don't go for the same design principles. These don't cut it as hiking boots. Going into the backcountry I don't have confidence I'll make it out OK, the ankle support is laughable and the toe box design invites injury.
