First, I want to say that my shoes were lost in the mail and customer service was spectacular. They sent a new pair of shoes and I got them a week later.
I also own one other pair of Topo shoes, which I've had for a year. And these I've had for a few weeks. Overall, I really really like these. The only problem is heel slippage. I was worried they were going to be unwearable the first time I tried them on, but after wearing them a few times the heel slippage is much less. I agree with the other review that the fit of the heel is noticeably wider than my other topo shoes of the same size.

I find Topos to be very inconsistent. Some, I adore, and live in and some just don't work. I was hoping these would be my new wet-weather shoes but they were too tight across the ball of the foot.

I love TOPO and have many pairs of Terraventure 4 in berry color, and was looking forward to these Terraventure WP but they're defective. The left shoe is definitely not a 3mm drop, it's more though right shoe is 3mm. I cannot wear them, it hurts and my left foot goes numb. I know Terraventures very well as I purchase new ones every 6-8 months as I wear them daily for hikes, walks and the gym.

I wear my Topo's for everything, I have six pairs of them. Everyday wear, fitness walking, hiking and weight training. I love the Topo fit, it is the only shoe that I can wear without any pain. Their low drop selections of shoes is what works best for me and the narrow heal with the wide toe box. "#sweepstakes"

This model was new for me, although I have several pairs of Topos. Wanted to try the waterproof style. It seemed tighter in the forefoot/ toebox area so I ordered half size up and that worked better.
I'd also suggest that Topo change the tips of the laces to be flat rather than round. I use the lace holes near the top of the ankle but the round lace tips are hard to insert in flat slot holes - like putting round shape into square holes- makes sense, right?

I have the Terrain and really like them, so took a chance on the TerraVenture for a WP version. Pros: low profile, normal gray color, responsive feeling when wearing. Cons: like most other shoe manufacturers, it appear Topos also failed to take into account that WP materials typically fit tighter/smaller. Shoe fits, but is very tight in the toe box compared to my other pair. Plus the materials used make a loud crackling sound across the toe box, which doesn't affect the fit, but is just weird.

I was looking for 2 things in a walking shoe - a wide toe box and waterproof. These shoes met both those criteria well. The toe box is roomy and I can attest that these shoes are waterproof! I've been out in very wet, muddy conditions for over an hour and my feet stayed bone dry. I am also impressed with how light weight these shoes are given how sturdy they feel. When I first put them on, they felt a bit stiff but once I started walking the shoe seemed to "soften" and was comfortable. I plan to check out the hiking boot.

I use my TOPOS for life. Walking and hiking mainly... gym workouts and cardio sessions. I wear them to run errands. I live life in them! They fit super well, they have cushion and stability. A fitted heel cup but WIDE toe box for my toes that I have been working on splaying out and these shows allow them to splay even when in a shoe. Most shoes can't do that! It's everything to me as someone who has 1 hammer toe and 1 neuroma. These shoes have helped fix my problem.

I recently went to Arizona and used them on hikes and climbs. I am not a climber, 1st time at 63 years old. I have to tell you they were amazing! I got one size up because my regular size felt too small with big socks.

Unfortunately I had to return them because they weren't roomy enough in the toe box. I love the Atmos which I wear in a 7 wide. Since Topo doesn't make a waterproof hiking boot in wide, I thought I'd give it a try. I did notice that some reviews mentioned the toe box was smaller than the other shoes but thought I'd try anyway. Disappointed.

Great shoe however a little too stiff for my foot issue. Bunion ? Wish they named it something different !
But I loved the fit

These are fairly comfortable but far less so than other topos I own. Purchased for rainy day hiking when I don't need a full boot but absolutely it watwrproof. Water seems to seep in where the shoe meets the sole.

I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my usual size, based on previous reviews. Unfortunately, that didn't help. The toe box on these is narrower than all the other Topos I have worn. They have some sort of padding inside the shoe that squeezed my toes together, so this pair has to go back. I have ridiculously wide feet, so this may or may not apply to others.

For reference, my other pair of Topos are the Ultraventure 3. My local store didn't sell the Terraventure WP so I had to take a chance and buy online. I was shocked by how narrow the cut is - the shoes are so tight, my toes fall asleep. The shoes are also very stiff; I tried running in them and it was jarring. Traction is good, so that's something, and they feel like quality construction, but overall, surprised and disappointed.

Loved other Topo shoes with their large toebox and wanted to love these as they are waterproof. Not enough cushioning for me. Trailventure 2 WP says it has high cushioning so I will try those next.

A lot of folks are fans of topos and I can understand why. Fit is excellent, comfortable, no blisters. My concern lies with the sole and lack of grip on scree, loose rocks, dry dirt etc. especially on technical trails, when backpacking and day hiking. I've slipped/fell compared to other shoes on looser ground - the grip simply isn't there in my opinion and I don't feel confident navigating through myriad of surfaces. Minor issue was tip of the sole started to loosen but after gluing, it's holding fine. Lastly, after 1 season, the soles feel quite worn. I don't think they are durable as a 2 season shoe if clocking than 40 miles on steep uphill and downhill terrain with mixed surfaces. That being said, I still like the shoes and will use them for gentle trail running. Highly recommend for that purpose.

I'll start by saying the vibram sole is a life saver. I stuck to pine needles and bare granite like a mountain goat whereas before I would slip frequently. However, in the first two weeks of using these shoes, during which I put 40 miles of hiking on them, the fabric around the shoe lace holes has completely worn away. Everything else is in great shape still except for this spot, which looks like it'll render the shoe trash way before the rest of it wears out. I switched to these from Altras for improved durability and they did not deliver. I will try a different shoe next time.

Felt half size too small. Maybe you're supposed to wear minimalist shoes without socks but I no way am I doing that so maybe it's a me problem. However, on one side only the cuff around the ankle dug in really painfully. I returned them and got a pair of Xero trail runners instead. I will say that the Topo build quality felt sturdier and would probably last longer, but that doesn't do much good if they hurt to wear.

Love all of the Topos I've ever owned! Decided to try the waterproof Terradventure 4 but these seems to run 1/2 smaller then any of my other Topos I've purchased. Exchanging for a bigger size.

I now have 3 pairs of TOPO - running, and 2 hiking - waterproof and not. I love having a shoe that fits my narrow foot but with a wide toe box !! Perfect!

I love TOPOS this is my 3rd pair. I must admit this style is the first pair I've had to break in. I love the grip forms the lugs and the wider toe box . Anytime I'm asked for shoe recommendations it's always TOPOS!!

The fit was ok. I normally wear 6.5 and that is what I ordered. Didn't like the "orthopedic shoe" look to them, and although my foot is on the wide side, I did not care for the wide toe box. Someone else compared them to Earth Shoes of the 1970s, and I agree. Heel seems lower than sole. Also are stiff, which I guess is because they are waterproof.
Not what I was going for, which is a comfortable stylish hiking/walking shoe. They are much boxier in person than in the photos

I've had my Topo's just over a month. At first, they were great. Felt good, good traction, breathable yet waterproof. Unfortunately, there seems to be some padding between the outer and inner layers of the toe box. The padding has bunched up, making the fit of the shoe uncomfortable and pinching my toes. Also, I feel every rock through the sole of the shoes. The rock plate doesn't seem to do much. The shoes aren't wearable anymore after just a monthI have Topo trail runners that are great, but these hiking shoes are sadly disappointing.
