I didnt like how thin the sole was and the lack of cushioning, some might prefer that but it gave me plantar fasciitis so bad. i cant even wear them now they hurt my feet within minutes. I tried to use them for just walking/hiking but they hurt my feet immediately.

Please stop making such hideous colors for women! I want to buy this shoe, but just can't due to the ridiculous color options.

I've been wearing the terraventure 2s & 3s for seven years, on trail and off trail because I've loved the fit. When I got the 4s I wore them for one 3 mile run and it felt fine. The next day I put them on and immediately there was a sharp stabbing pain on the exterior of my foot below the ankle. I tried to run and it just got worse. I consulted some friends who are PTs and spent the next few weeks doing new strengthening exercises and easing into short runs with my old shoes. Any time I put on the 4s I felt the pain immediately- not a pain I could push past to break them in. I ended up ordering a minimally used pair of 2s and have worn them for a few runs with no problems. It could just be a weird thing with my foot but comparing my old 2s/3s and the used 2s I got with the 4s it looks like the area around the ankle on the 4s is a lot more rigid and significantly less padded. Again, could just be me (I've searched to see if anyone else has this problem and it looks like it's just me) but I really hope the 5s are a better fit for me when they come out. Sorry to the makers for only leaving this negative comment- I love the 2s/3s and wish I had left a positive review for them both!

I am not a fan. But I wanted to be, so badly! I usually wear Altra brand (Olympus mostly) but I was hoping to add Topo to the lineup, for diversty and fun. No way: toebox is not as wide as the Altras (all of them), but mostly the shoe is hard! The sole is too thin, the insole is... way to thin, and when I run on trail I feel all the pebbles and rocks. I had to add another insole, to make it bearable, but that makes the shoe too tight. I love the color. But that's it.
