The waterproof seal split 6 months after purchase.

I've worn every trail Topo available, and have had many Terraventures. This WP version, however, rubs right into the front/bottom of my ankle bone, due to the fabric coming up farther on the ankle than the non-WP version. Had to return them as a result.

Its too shallow in the toe box and hits my ankle bone also. I'm disappointed it doesn't fit the same as the other shoe I bought.

Topo Athletic remains my go-to shoe with with a comfortably wide toe box, stiff heel counter and perfect heel-toe drop. My second pair now of the Terraventure 4 WP, and neither were waterproof however. Recommend getting the standard model and using waterproof socks.

Topo is my go-to shoe for outdoor activity. That made is all the more disappointing when I tried out my new Terraventure 4 WP. The left sole/heel developed a loud clicking at about the 4 mile mark. I cleared the treads, adjusted the lacing, and checked insole. Nothing worked, in fact the clicking/squeaking became more pronounced through miles 5 and 6. Other than giving me some feedback on my pace, I'm not sure I can keep the beat with these shoes. One time defect? I hope so anyway.

I've been looking forward to a WP trail running shoe. I have the WP light hiking boot but this new model is ideal for damp wet weather

I wanted to like these...I really did. I bought them for spring day hikes in Ireland and Scotland as a WP alternative to my Altra Lone Peak 9+. I wore them on several short hikes from 3-5 miles and each time came back with crippiling soreness in my left foot. The Pain was in the bridge of the foot opposite the arch. I tried replacing the insole with a more padded arched insole and it didn't make any difference. Each time, it took several days to heal and I can't imagine why the right foot was ok and there was debilitating pain in the left. I had a pair of TOPOS a few years ago and they were great. Not sure what happened.

I used my shoes for work because every other pair of shoes I had in the past didn't work for me . So I figured I would buy these and try them out.in three months they started to fall apart at the back of the heel cutting into the back of my heel making it hard to walk. Nice shoes but won't buy again.

I have purchased multiple pairs of the previous versions of this shoe, and wore them until they wore out, then happily bought another pair. When it was discontunued, I waited until this version became available. Sadly, it is too uncomfortable for me to wear now. The arches are higher than before, and the heel is much higher as well. This may not be a problem for others, but if you liked the previous fit like I did, you may be disappointed with the TerraVenture 4 WP.

These were a big disappointment, as the waterproofing and Vibram would be perfect for winter life. They were simply wayy too tight in width but fine in length. All my other m sz 10 Topo fit great. I can only assume they did not allow the extra room needed for the waterproof fabric here, which makes the inside volume significantly smaller. It also causes the heel to not fit at all, so my foot just lifts out because the heel is too short in height. Very strange one. As usual, the Ortholite insoles are a let down. Worthless, no support. Unfortunately I had to return this one. I look forward to trying the next version of their waterproof trail runners.
