I wore these in Northern Ontario while camping in the fallthese shoes survived muddy trails, crossing waterfalls, and even some light snow near the Georgian Bay in the late fall. Tried and true, these are extremely comfortable and reliable for an everyday scooting around shoe. Will be wearing these until they fall apart!

The reviews and your recommendation was to buy up 1/2 size. Wear 8.0, ordered 8.5, still short.

I used a this shoes hiking a few times now. I love how comfortable this shoes climbing up. I recently went to Mount Fuji. Hiking down is not comfortable. It's hard on the tip of my toes.

Comfy shoes, but not waterproof in the slightest. Walking through wet brush was like walking in sneakers. These hikers were better when they were GoreTex. Don't buy the DryVent version!

It is the first time I have bought this shoe, I loved the quality, the fingers are comfortable, they are quite wide, the grip is very good for hiking, but I had to return them because they have a very thick padding on the edges and it hurt when walking. I'm very sorry because I loved the quality.

Much to my distress, I purchased the wrong pair of hiking shoes as I was supposed to buy the ones with ankle support. It was only when they were brought to me by my neighbour that I realized my mistake. Fortunately my neighbour lives in Florida and she offered to take back the ones I bought to the North Face Store in Saw Grass Mills and hopefully be able to change them for the ones with ankle support. I am off to Scotland for a walk in September and need to have the correct shoes.

They were too small. I am always a 8.5 ladies. My toe hit the shoe and that was with thin socks on.

I have worn two pairs of the old HedgeHog. I never had to break them in and they were pliable yet sturdy enough to hike in. This pair felt like I was wearing my grandmother's orthopedic shoes.

These are my 10th pair of Hedgehogs. They fit perfectly and, paired with smart wool socks, never have a blister. I run trails and roadsides in all kinds of weather. My feet stay warm, dry and comfortable. The tread prevents slipping whether going uphill or down and they are lightweight. Each pair goes from running to walking to gardening before they wear out. I always have a new pair ready to go--can't be without my Hedgehogs!

This is the 5 pair of hedgehogs I have bought, and always the same size. This pair feels way too small - very unhappy - a complete waste of money as can't find them instore to try without buying online. Why has TNF changed the sizing? It feels skinnier too - but maybe my feet are getting wider - but not a whole size longer - especially when I put the old pairs on for comparison. FYI - I have always had skinny feet.

Wore them on 10 mile hike, but needed to break them in. Slightly large, so needed to wear thicker socks. Wore them hiking in mud, snow, and rain. Kept my feet dry.

Great shoes for day hiking and short backpacking trips. They're very comfortable. The shoes are a bit wide for my narrow feet but they're solid so my feet don't slip around too much. My larger foot is hitting the front on downhills but I think once they stretch a bit they'll be good. Perhaps order a size up from your sneaker size.

The shoes are comfortable and they fit the need I have for them, but they are not appealing at all. They are very wide and look more like a snow shoes than a tennis shoe.
