This backpack is honestly one of my favorite purchases to date. It looks pretty small but you can really fit in so much stuff comfortably. I took it with my for a summer abroad program in France this summer, and was able to fill it with books and school supplies for my classes, and then use it on weekends for excursions with my friends (putting a travel umbrella, raincoat, water bottle, camera, book, mini makeup bag, etc.). And also, it is just SO CUTE!!! I have received so many compliments on it and many people have mentioned how surprised they are by how much it can fit! I am actually planning on buying another one soon in a different color because of how much I absolutely adore this backpack.
PS- I got the ocean green, and it is not as bright as the photos (which I am happy about) and is like a dark teal.

I had been watching this backpack for a few months and am so glad I finally bought it. It has a classic style, quality fabrication, and is good size. It is light-weight yet sturdy, with strong zippers and straps. I abandoned my tote-style purse for my Fjällräven and I have no regrets!

This backpack turned out to be an excellent investment. It looks small but holds so much, and it's very comfortable on my back and shoulders. Vibrant color, soft fabric.

When I first received this backpack I was super worried when I realized how small it looked! I am a college student and have a large binder, pencil cases, a wallet and other stuff to lug to school! At first glance, I didn't think it would fit any of my stuff! I opened it up and expanded it from its original state and much to my surprise it fit my stuff perfectly! I have only had it a few days so I can't comment on the longevity but so far it has been great! Not too bulky and very stylish!

The bag was smaller than I thought...but when I measured it, they were accurate. The color is spot on and it's nicely made. I bought it for a trip to Spain and it was perfect. Small enough I didn't over pack it and big enough to cram something in if I really needed it.

Bought this bad for my wife to replace her diaper bag. I personally didn't think it would hold all the "Stuff" she felt she needed daily. I was wrong! Small bag with tons of space! Also great zipper opening to keep things organized and easy in one big opening.

I decided to get my Kanken after my North Face backpack gave up the ghost after over 6 years of daily use, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. Unlike my old bag, this is not at all bulky and doesn't have a thousand different unnecessary pockets/pouches/zippers, which is nice. However, it's not too small, and it doesn't look like a kiddie bag at all - it holds my 13" MacBook Air, my lunch bag, and a few folders/notebooks without any strain. I think I will probably have to wipe it down every now and then, but the fabric seems pretty stain-resistant.

This is a great product overall. Really good design, and great materials. I am really looking forward to owning this pack for years to come. I love how it looks small and compact but you are surprised by the amount of stuff that you can fit into it. I also love that it is impermeable I found the side pockets do fit some kinds of water bottles, just not all. And they do fit my personal umbrella.

I can shoehorn my 14" laptop into the compartment (even though it probably wasn't built to hold that). Good/durable for day-to-day classes at uni. It sags a bit and the straps feel noticeably thinner when there's too much weight, but that's a given and the discomfort is barely noticeable. Just a word of advice- if you get the black color, I have to give mine a wipe down 2x a month to get rid of the accumulated dirt. Just takes five minutes. all in all definitely worth the money, no regrets here

I love this bag, I was worried that it would be too big (I am 5'5" small build) because it was unclear according to the pictures but it is absolutely perfect. I commute on foot and trains everyday to work and I am so happy to have a bag that I love to carry around town. The color is nice, exactly like the picture. It is sturdy, holds a lot but it does not feel like you are wearing an ugly big bag. I highly recommend it.

Very roomy, and very comfortable on the shoulders. A bit tricky to adjust the straps the first time, but wonderful after that. I prefer to wear it without the back padding. Beware of the lighter colors though, they get dirty almost immediately. Had I realized that, I would have stuck with darker colors. I almost prefer the computer models though, for their zipped compartment in the back. Very useful when traveling.

Great lightweight backpack, holds a lot! Easy to use because it unzips on 3 sides allowing easy access. There is a protective section for iPad or laptop and an outer zipped pocket for quick access items. If you often carry heavy loads, you may want to buy shoulder pad accessory. I love the backpack and always use when I travel. Fits under airline seat easily.

Great bag. Sturdy and well made. Perfect size for my 3 1/2 year old to bring everything he needs to summer day camp! (Change of clothes, towel and lunch box!)

I've had the Kanken for a few years now, & it still looks brand new. I love the way it zips open like a suit case. I did get the shoulder pads for it & they make it very comfortable to wear. I highly recomend getting the Kanken backpack.

I bought a Kankan backpack for my daughter ten years that has lasted all this time. I bought myself one about two years ago and they are not the same quality. The zipper broke on my backpack within just a year! I took it in to get fixed, but it broke again after just a few months. I took it in a second time to be fixed and it broke AGAIN. What a huge disappointment. The quality has gone way down. I would not buy another bag from this company. Ive recommended this company to many people and now I regret it.

I purchased the "Design your own" Kanken. I am thoroughly satisfied! The colors are rich and I'm pleased with the accuracy of the pigments compared to the image online. The material is thick and not cheaply made at all.
This backpack packs a good amount for my day hikes and weekend urban exploration and museum hopping.
Love my Kanken :D

I wish I could love this bag as much as a lot of folks do but I do not. I was so happy upon receiving my dark navy blue backpack with rainbow stripe straps, but after wearing a white shirt the blue coloring rubbed all over my back and ruined my white shirt

I own 3 of them. 2 mini & two classics in different colors and I love it so much!! I use for work and my lunchbox slips right into it perfectly. There's enough pockets for me and I use the large padded pocket to hold my kindle.
