I absolutely love these shoes! I normally rock speedcross for shorter rocky hikes on Oahu but I got these for extra support and theyre game changing. They have a wider toe box and the comfort is top notch. Super stable on rocky low altitude trails, good in mud and moisture. Feet stay dry but not hot. 10000/10 would buy over and over. The color way is perfect too, super easy to clean and the neon green stays poppin!

I've done a few short hikes and one backpacking trip in southern Ohio in these shoes. I continue to be impressed with the overall comfort and cushioning that these shoes provide. I am very sensitive to the traction of my hiking shoes, and the traction provided by the Thundercross is some of the best in all conditions. My only nitpick is the speedlace system. It does it's job, but does not allow for a heel lock, which I often find I need. My foot slides to the front of this shoe on steep descents.

Fit is fine. Went 1/2 size larger than my last Salomons of a different line. Look good. Only issues are, the tongue is about 1/2 inch too short and no loop on the heel to pull on. Miss these features greatly from my previous pair that I still wear for fishing.

This shoes are the lowest quality product I have ever seen. Falling apart bit by bit. They are only good looking, but the material quality is the poorest thing ever conceived.

Truly the rocker shape of the sole mixed with the unbelievable midsole cushion they put in there as well as the rock plate (I think) mixed with a waterproof lining inside that really works - all day from office to mall to more importantly- the trail!! Great versatility- great look and feel. Highly recommend.

Acceptable comfort. Heel to toe drop feels better than Speedcross 6. Left shoe deserves 5 stars. Right deserves three. Other reviewers have mentioned that the tongue of the shoe fits improperly. In the pair that I bought the tongue of the right shoe is 8-10 mm shorter than the left. The left shoe is good, the right less so. Quality control is slipping. Should have been more attentive to this problem in the first three to five miles of wear.

I had the Ultra x goretex and finally wore them out. Decided to try these and they are great also except the tongue seems too short always have to pull it back so the top laces can catch it so it doesn't shrink back under the laces.

Extremely comfortable w/minimal break-in. My only complaint is that Im not really fond of the type of shoelaces they have on there.

Great traction. Very cushy feel. Light weight. Fits like a glove, which is good and bad - they're a bit too tight in the toe area for downhills and hot feet.

Yes the rip stop fabric is awesome - yes the Gore-Tex truly does prevent water from soaking my feet and YES my feet seem better at the end of the day than my Nike Pegasus trail 4 ever did. I think the reason is the cradle paired with awesome foam/cushioning. The Elixires have this and I have a pair (a little bit heavier than these though) that completely have made me reorganize a Planned day to do more solely due to, I believe , the curved grip - a lot of manufacturers are doing this too and I guess the theory is correct!! Lasts all day comfort!!! I did go a half size UP but only because I wanted to wear thicker socks.

While getting ready for a trip to Scotland and Germany I wanted to find a good pair of hiking/ walking shoes or boots. I have HORRIBLE feet, flat footed and bad bunions. Tried other brands and nothing was working. Slipped into a pair of these and my feet felt great. So fa the best shoes ever!

I just got these, and I don't take them off. They're great for hiking and trail running and as a replacement for sneakers.

I walk about 5 miles per day. Even though they are GORE-TEX they still breath and keep my feet dry. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes keep me walking. Thanks goodness! I love them.

Whomever designed the tongue must wear sliders all the time. Just came back from running in the Italian Alps. I found the Thundercross Gore Tex more stable than the standard Thundercross. Salomon does the shoe a disservice saying it is best on Wet/Muddy surfaces. It handled rocky terrain, skree, boulders, dirt, roots exceptionally well. If the tongue didn't retract every time you put them on they would be a 5 out of 5. The tongue has to be redesigned - it is awful.

Bought the shoes a month ago. I tried to stretch out the insole and they are basically unusable. Tried to give them away and wouldnt fit my sons feet either. I owned many pair of Solomon shoes and have never had a problem. These are garbage.

I bought these shoes to have a Goretex shoe for walking around the city in the rain/snow but that could also be used for hiking/trail running. I've worn them pretty much every day since I bought them, using them in rain, snow, mud, etc., and they've been perfect. They feel surprisingly light. Even with the boxy design (which I like) and the treads, I don't really notice them. Granted, Im used to wearing boots, but I don't feel like these are much heavier feeling than the speedtrax or other similar shoes. The treads are surprisingly discrete. I don't feel them at all while walking, and they helped me stop from slipping on ice. They're large enough to be helpful but don't take away from the ability to wear them as a daily walking shoe. Only "complaint" is that they're really narrow and take a while to break in. I ordered a half size up and prob could still to a size up because they're very, very narrow. I pretty much can't tighten them down at all or they suffocate my feet. It also took a solid two weeks to break the sole in, but it's comfortable now

Im a bigger guy who likes to hike and love these shoes. The sole is very padded but also feels very stable which is my main complaint about Hokas. I wear them almost every day and have worn them hiking and they get excellent grip. I wear them in snow and ice without any complaints. Great shoe, I will definitely buy more!

I was waiting of this shoe - wanted something like the Speedcross with great lacing system but wider foot bed and lower heal toe drop. Unfortunately this show is still narrow. If they built this sized like the Ultra Lone Peak it would be the ultimate shoe!

Im around 40 miles in of hiking/running in this shoe in winter weather and its been nothing short of amazing! I highly recommend it. The wider toe box has been everything I can ask for. I get a great fit with the speed laces and never need to make adjustments. This is the perfect blend that Salomon stated it would be. I also got the ultra glide 2 and kind of wish I Got the non gortex thundercross instead
