After hearing how comfortable Solomon's are I gave them a shot. Extremely disappointed on how narrow they were.

Toe box too firm and hurts big toe, unsatisfied with product

I have worn these for several years. About six months ago, I started to develop issues with both of my big toes, especially on my right foot. I recently visited with a DPM (podiatrist) and brought these shoes along with me. I told him how comfortable they were and how much I loved the durability and speed laces. He zeroed in on the fact that the lacing originates right on top of the portion of the toe box where my two big toes were located. Sad to say, I may be switching over to a Merrell shoe.

My third pair of this model but was very disappointed to find out that they are not waterproof unlike earlier models.

These new ones definitely don't live up to the Salomon quality the older shoes had. My first pair of Salomon x-ultra lasted me over 500 miles of east coast rocky trails before the soles went flat. Even then the upper was like new when I threw them out. With the new shoes however, I got holes in both of them with just 50 miles of hiking. Still giving two stars because these shoes do breathe well in muggy summers and the fit is great.

I ordered two sizes (9 and 9.5), both are way too tight. Shoe is just too narrow, and I have pretty regular sized feet.

Worst ever - after 15-20 years of Salomon trail shoes (mostly XA) Broke first time out of the box - hadn't even got out of the house. "Webbing" (?) loops not stitched / caught into the main shoe outer fabric

By far the shortest amount of time I owned a pair of shoes and also the most expensive ones. These worthless shoes lasted me about 7-9 months. After that they literally came apart. I never once even trail runned in them. The soles were literally coming apart from the top. Will never purchase a pair of salomon shoes ever again.

These shoes are not durable and fall apart easily. Stitching comes apart on different places on their shoes within six months.

Whoever designed and approved the lace over the big toe, which creates a hard surface inside the shoe right on top of toe, should be placed in a two week suspension.

Great shoes out of the box, well designed, not flashy, super comfortable. Got these for a trip to Europe which would involve a lot of walking, city streets, gravel roads, trails, etc. They were awesome for the first few days, I could walk in them all day in total comfort, and they looked good! Then one day on an early morning hike I walked through some wet grass, just dewey morning grass, not full soak water crossing, literally a damp morning dew on short grass...and within a few minutes I could feel the moisture seeping into the shoes. Not a ton of moisture, but my socks were definitely wet when I took the shoes off later. That was not a big deal to me. They were still comfy and looked good, I could deal with some moisture in my shoe. But then the smell came.....the stench, the most foulest odor imaginable. The thing that makes these unwearable is the smell that occurs after any moisture enters the shoe.....a horrendous ammonia/cat pee odor!! Like wow do these shoes STINK!! I can no longer wear them, they just REEK of cat pee, I've tried cleaning them, removing and replacing the insole, nothing works. They just STINK. And this is not the first time this has happened with a pair of Salomons, I have thrown out another pair that also suffered from this cat pee smell issue. It's definitely NOT my feet, or my socks, or anything to do with my own personal body odor, it is these shoes, something in them just REEKS of cat pee after any kind of moisture enters the shoe, and no matter how careful you are with drying them out or cleaning them afterwards, they will continue to STINK FOREVER! This is the last pair of Salomons I will ever buy. Just not worth the money for less than a week of wearing. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
