I have purchased XA PRO 3D Ultra 2, for the past 10 years, 10 pairs and counting, The V9 has removed the breathable fabric and repaced it with non breathable serfaces. Over 90 deg weather these shoes will not help at all, regardless of the activity. This is a cold or mild weather shoe only.

Amazing shoes. Can be on my feet all day and not feel any discomfort. I have them in every color.

I have a narrow foot, these fit a little wider. The speedcross 6 fit better for me, but I still use these for everyday hiking.

I was sent the wide version of this shoe even though I ordered the standard fit. I didn't figure it out until I had already worn them so I guess I'm stuck with them. Great shoes but I wish they fit a little better.

For many years I wear these shoes, they are the widest available, very comfortable, universal and supportive.

Like the style 3 rd pair I have purchased. Top of toe area in shoe rubbed toes till they were broken in. Have had that issue with all I purchased. Once worn a few times that goes away. Maybe I just have sensitive toes? This pair also seemed a bit narrower than others I have purchased. Just a bit annoying when first put on to wear. You do have to break them in, I feel.

Comfortable shoe with great grip A little big around the front and hard to pull the laces super tight, might be an issue if you have a narrow foot!

This will be the third pair of these I have purchased. I can only tell you that this has been extremely comfortable, cool on the feet thanks to the breathability of the outer shell. The sole is hard-wearing but gives superior traction. This is always a hard one to find based on the fact that so many come back and repurchase, I have found that it has a great following and I was fortunate to get my first pair and have not been disappointed with the following pairs. I am looking forward to our trek thru Italy wearing them.

Purchased my XA Pros for a planned long hike. Not only did they perform perfectly on the hike, due to their comfortability and great look, they became my everyday shoes. Great stability, great durability, love my XA Pros!

Pretty comfortable with the wide toe box. I'm a believer that every shoe should be a "wide" since the toes have to spread out under load. Only thing I wish is it had regular laces. Being able to custom tension around the ankle, mid foot, and toes is huge and the quick lace system doesn't allow for that.

I love Salomon trail runners and 10.5 has always been a perfect fit for me. These ones however are shorter and have caused the tips of my toes to blister, and unfortunately are not gonna work for me. I should have returned them right away, but I wanted them to work and wore them around hoping they would break in, but no luck because of the stiff toe molding. Bummer because I won't be able to afford another pair for a while.

I'm 68 and hike Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, AZ every day for well over twelve years straight. I hike it twice, my FitBit showing a total of 2400' gained and 6.5 miles. The rock trail has destroyed or delaminated every lesser brand. The XA Pro doesn't just hold up better than any other boot, it also sticks better to the 70+ degree angles and sharp exposed edges. The Sense Ride 5 sticks just as well, and I wear those on lighter trails, but Camelback has many points where squeezing your toes into crevices is required and the XA Pro has thicker sides and toes. A group of regulars convenes for sunrise every morning. I've converted most of them to this great hiking shoe. I've torn up fifteen pairs of other brands before coming back to the XA Pro. Since finding them, I've happily worn out over thirty pairs of XA Pros. There is no better boot for desert hiking.

These new ones definitely don't live up to the Salomon quality the older shoes had. My first pair of Salomon x-ultra lasted me over 500 miles of east coast rocky trails before the soles went flat. Even then the upper was like new when I threw them out. With the new shoes however, I got holes in both of them with just 50 miles of hiking. Still giving two stars because these shoes do breathe well in muggy summers and the fit is great.

It all started in 2017, the first time I started hiking on Pacific Crest Trail. After 1500 miles on the PCT: not a single blister! And when everyone was replacing their shoes after 400-500 miles, I only needed 2 pairs. My Solomons were lasting twice as long as other manufacturers shoes. Since 2017, I have hiked in Solomons thousands and thousands of miles: same results: no blisters! I love my Solomons !

These shoes are not durable and fall apart easily. Stitching comes apart on different places on their shoes within six months.

I have had several pairs of Salomon shoes. The toe box was always too narrow. These wide sizes are perfect for my foot. Im glad you you are making sizes that I can wear. Your shoes are excellent. Thank you

I've worn numerous Salomon trail shoes, road shoes, hiking boots, ski boots for 23 years. Quality has always been good and fit has been reliable until the last year or so. Unfortunately the new XA Pro 3D V9 runs about a 1/2 size small. This is no problem for most-just order up a size. But for me and other bigfoots it's a problem. I wear a 13 medium. There is no 13.5 so I'd have to go up a full size. The 14 is too large so I'm out of luck. It's already a challenge to place these battleships on ledges, steps, rocks ,etc. Imagine adding 1/2" of space in front of your toes. Otherwise the V9 is more flexible than the V8 so needs no break-in. The lace garage is generous and easy to get the lace in vs previous versions and other models of Salomons. Can't say that it will stay in as I only walked around the living room for 90 seconds. Tread is standard Contagrip. Cushion feels moderate. Support is good w/ minor lateral twisting. But they are too short! I'm stocking up on earlier shoes and hoping that Salomon goes back to previous sizing or introduces a 13.5.

Hard black plastic and lace-loop right on the side-knuckle part of big toe. I have had a number of Salmon in past and never seen the laces this far forward. The rest of the shoe is fine but the toe area is unbearably uncomfortable.
