If like me you have size 13 feet and need a wide fitting you will find these shoes to be as comfortable, hard wearing and protective as ever they were. Sadly they're not widely available and you can have any colour you like as long as it's black.

Have been wearing salomon boots for work and trail runners for hiking/running for years. Bought this pair for a vacation in Asia where I will be walking in alot of rain. Within 3 days of use, the upper lip by where the speed laces tuck in and the side where the zigzag design is started to fray and tear. If this is the durability of the shoe from walking on pavement a few km's a day, I cant imagine how they will hold up on an actual hike/run.

confortable shoe but inexcusablely poor engineering choice for the eyelets holding the laces, they break easily and cannot be repaired.

I have been running and wearing Salomon shoes for about 15 years - this is the first time I have been disappointed. The lace design caused huge toe pain after just one short walk. The shoes felt good in the store. I returned to the retailer who have declined to follow up the Salomon warranty sadly. What can I do to restore my faith in Salomon shoes?

I don't have a wide foot but so many of the other brands of performance hiking shoes I've worn are very narrow and don't offer a wide version. This V9 Wide continues the fit of the V8s that I have come to love. The 3D chassis is solid and controls my pronation with pronation control being hard to find in other brands these days. they hold up to my hard use. They also have great traction and I like the quick lacing system. These will be my forever shoes so long as upcoming V10s, V11s etc have the same fit....

Shoes felt fine around the house for initial testing. Took them out onto the trails and the left shoe absolutely shredded my toe about 4km in. Weeks later, my toe is still pretty mangled.
Goretex was perfect. These shoes are just far too narrow and firm.

This is my fifth pair of similar Salomon shoes I've had since 2008 when I bought my first pair to hike the Tiger Leaping Gorge trail in China. I like these shoes because of their fit, design, ease of use and quality materials.

Bought these for a couple day trek. I come back and they are already breaking at the seams.

It would be amazing, unfortunately it has 0 cushion for backheel that means friction destroys skin. It was the same with v8. Unforgivable for such high price

Originally purchased the pulse. Started leaking after a 2 months. I have owned multiple Pro class runners by Soloman and North Face. The bladder system in the Soloman Pro has kept my feet dry through the life of the shoe.

I recently purchased the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX trail running shoes, and I can confidently say that they have exceeded all my expectations. Right from the moment I put them on, I could feel the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that set Salomon apart.
The GORE-TEX technology in these shoes is a game-changer, as it prevents my feet from getting wet during unexpected rain showers or while traversing muddy trails. The waterproof and breathable membrane keeps my feet dry while allowing them to breathe, ensuring optimal comfort in different weather conditions.
The 3D Advanced Chassis provides exceptional stability and support, making these shoes perfect for challenging terrains. I always felt confident and secure with every step, thanks to the excellent traction offered by the Contagrip outsole. Whether I was navigating rocky paths or slippery surfaces, the XA PRO 3D V9 delivered a reliable grip, preventing any slips.
What sets these shoes apart is their versatility. Although designed with trail running in mind, they are equally well-suited for hiking and casual walks. The Sensifit technology ensures a snug and customised fit, eliminating discomfort or pressure points. The Quicklace system is convenient, allowing me to quickly and securely lace up and take off the shoes.
The durability of these shoes is impressive. The high-quality materials and robust construction make them stand up to the rigours of intense outdoor activities. After several weeks of use, there is minimal wear and tear, a testament to Salomon's commitment to producing long-lasting and reliable footwear.
In terms of aesthetics, the XA PRO 3D V9 boasts a sleek and modern design. The variety of colour options allows for personalisation, making the overall look functional and stylish.
In conclusion, the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX is a top-tier trail running shoe that delivers on its promises. Whether you're an avid trail runner, hiker, or someone who enjoys the outdoors, these shoes provide the comfort, stability, and durability needed for a positive and enjoyable experience. Salomon has again set the bar high with this outstanding footwear, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

But, they now have a wider toe box than before. Been wearing this shoe for many years and the V9 is not what the previous versions were. I have a narrow foot and was so happy to find the Salomon's and the lacing system is the bom, being able to slip into them. Anyhow, now looking for a new shoe. Peace!

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and waterproof. Perfect for trail running, walking and light hiking.

I bought a pair about two years ago. Wore the soles out. We'll see how the new pair holds up.

Fit a bit narrow compared to my other shoes that I usually wear but I still have comfortable wiggle room for my toes. Unfortunately, they're starting to hurt the arch of my feet real bad when I was taking them out for a walk.

I believe this is my 5th generation pair of XA Pros. Once again, Salomon gets it right. They are not so different than beat-up V5 pair, or V7s that I still wear. Just a few tweaks here and there but the same fit and speedlace that just plain works.
I also supinate and find many off-road shoes quickly fatigue my knees w/ their curved lasts. The XA Pro's with their almost-straight last never have. Hence, they are my daily shoe.
Bought the GorTex version this time around as occasionally find need of keeping dry in the rain. I'll take the trade-off of a maybe being warmer in the summer. And the new blueish "Flint Stone" colorway (they certainly dont look like Fred's ) is a good change from the neutral black I have bought in the past.

Toe box was still kinda cramped, and the arch portion of the shoe was unbearably narrow. Also, one of the shoes immediately started squeaking with every step.
Return was easy though

I used these shoes for daily long distance walking. I normally walk between 4 and 8 miles. These shoes accomplish what I wanted. The keep my foot dry as I walk through damp trails, they are stable walking through trail areas and they are comfortable.
