Ordered my 4th pair of this shoe and its previous editions. The shoes I received had an obvious defect in the sole/heel area that appears to have a delamination of material. The shoe made an audible sound on each and every step, so exam showed the cause. Salomon customer service was difficult to deal and made returning the shoe a lengthy and unpleasant experience. Shameful because either a return or replacement would have been acceptable. I've worn a version of this shoe for the past 12 years. This pair is being returned on the 3rd day of ownership.

Im a caddie, and during the late Fall and Winter I rely on my Salomon GTX shoes. They keep my feet dry even though heavy downpours. Ive only worn these new shoes for two caddie gigs, but they performed as well as my old pairs. No break in period required, and they are super supportive across every type of terrain.

They look very nice, but they are a little stiff and your feet gets somewhat moist when used more than 45 minutes. Another downside is that you need to remove the insoles and put in a Spenco or Super Feet insoles, because the originals are thin and worthless other than that they are very nice.

I've bought 5+ pairs of these shoes, and the lacing system always breaks well before soles wear down or the rest of the shoe should need replaced. You can buy a replacement lace kit, but it seems impossible to relace through the super-small eyelet. Very poor design.

I have worn these shoes about 3 weeks, and they are the best shoes I have ever owned. Seriously. They are firm on the heel, and I can't feel train rocks on my soles. The tightening system took a bit of getting used to, but it is brilliant. Very happy with these!

Purchased these after trying on a a friend's pair in the same size, but unfortunately, I just cannot wear them through the break-in period. Something about the arch support in the left shoe hurts quite a lot to the point I just had to give up on these. I tried wearing them for about 1.5-2 weeks in hopes it would improve, but it was hurting too much. Salomon's return policy does not allow you to return once worn, so keep that in mind when buying these for the first time, as I am not now stuck with a shoe I can't wear or return.

I love the style and build quality. The fit is slightly big for me. I ordered a 9.5M which is the perfect fit with other Salomon shoes. The toe box is perfect but I have too much room in the heel which I know will cause problems on longer runs and hikes. I should have ordered a 9M.

It feels somewhat wider than the previous OG model but remains solid, supportive, and I like the earth tones.

Ive been buying these for a long time.
This version is the closest theyve come to the Xa pro 3d goretex in a while.
Which is saying something. The original was a great shoe, then they got cheap with the finer details.
Now at least theyre sowing the tongue back to the sides so it doesnt slide down inside the shoe.

I have owned several pairs of XA Pro 3Ds. It is disappointing to see that the quality is decreasing. The laces used to have little plastic tubes to reinforce the loops in the top three loops. My last pair only had tubes in the top two loops, and they broke in the third one, where there was no plastic tube. I got a replacement pair under warranty, and the new ones have zero plastic reinforcement tubes.

I've been using the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX boots for a few months, and they've been excellent for both hiking and trail running. The GORE-TEX keeps my feet dry in wet conditions, while the fit and stability make them comfortable for long treks. They provide solid grip on uneven terrain, and the durability has been impressive so far!

Great lightweight and comfortable work shoes. But best of all, is the customer service! I had an issue, and they made it right. Thank You!

I use the shoe not only for trail running, although this is the best trail runner I have ever owned. I already own the third pair of this type. It is also great for hiking and regular walking in dirty or stone terrain. Once the shoes are worn out, I fix them up and use them for garden work. The pair is very comfortable and gives stability at the same time.

I bought these particular shoes about a month ago. Within a couple of days they seemed to mold to my foot. They are light weight and the speed lace system is awesome. They are a great all-around shoe. Waterproof but also let your feet breathe. The tread is pretty aggressive, I liked them so much I bought a black pair. Build quality is good so far, if they break down sooner than a year then Ill update my review. Im very happy with these shoes. The width is great also, I have a narrow heel but slightly wider toe box and these are almost perfect for my foot.

Well fitting, easy to tighten or loosen the laces. The material that hits under the ankle is too hard and abrasive.

Good shoes, but Salomon continues to make shoes a bit smaller than the labeled size would suggest.

I have been buying the XD Pro's for years. Only complaint was they weren't waterproof. The V9 corrects that problem! My only complaint is the slow shipping. (Takes a week every time)

I took advantage of the $129 sale price and bought a 10 and a 10.5 as my size can vary from shoe to shoe. One of my favorites is a 9.5 wide. Anyway, the 10.5 I felt that my ankle was always slippingnot good. I tried on with fresh Smartwool socks (sry) of differing types (hike/run); full crew vs ankle height; as well as padding (targeted, full, Light).
The 10 was perfect for size but had a minor, yet concerning 'defect' on the outer sole where glued to the toe. There was a small indentation filled with gluebarely noticeablebut I thought would lead to or add additional stress when being stretched. I would have kept the 10s but instead tried a different pairthe Forsake trail shoe. I won't elaborate but not my styleI should have kept the Salomon's!
