Best shoes ever! Walked a 24 km difficult trail in Sleeping Giant just a few days after purchasing the shoes and found the shoes to be so comfortable. Even everyday walking the shoes are so cushiony.

I am a die hard speedcross 6 and ultra glide wide fan. I wanted a cushier option with great foot splay space and greater lugs, thunder cross checks all these boxes!!! I won't wear on the muddy courses however. That would destroy them I suspect. Rocky/roots/gravel terrain is where they shine for me :)

I have found the perfect hiking shoe for me. Perfect weight (not too heavy and not too light). Good deal of cushioning and super arch support. The width is just right. The two things I appreciate most of all is the stability the shoe provides and the 4mm drop. The stability has given me my confidence back since I don't have the balance that I used to have. The heel to toe drop is the exact height my back needs obviously. My previous hiking shoes had 10-12mm drop, and that is just too much for me. I've had zero drop shoes too, but that wasn't it. These are just right! I will only use for hiking and not trail running, but they have excellent grip. I have worn them on roots, leaves, wet rocks, etc., and they do not slip. After all these years trying many, many different shoes, I am perfectly pleased. I have nothing bad to say about these shoes.

Gosh these are cushy! They were a terrific surprise that way. They're wide in the toe box, for those who might need that. They're slightly too wide for me, but the cushioned sole is worth wearing thicker socks or really tightening the laces. When walking they almost feel as if they have a negative heel, and there is a definitely sense the heel is striking the ground first. Overall they just make me feel bouncier when I walk, and that's a good thing.

Thundercross is meeting my needs. I wanted a light, cushioned shoe for slippery fall conditions. More room in the tow box has been a plus too.

These feel great right out of the box exactly what I wanted for a winter sneaker!

I am a solid Speedcross fan, but was looking for a bit more cushioning over long days. Not only do they fit the same, they are exactly what I was looking for. After a couple days of wearing, I jumped in and did a 31K race. They were perfect!

The shoe is true to size, but I mistakenly ordered an 11, when I wear a 10.5...maybe it only came in whole sizes. Anyhoo...not your fault and not Salomon's fault. Even big, it's a cool, comfortable shoe.

I bought Thundercross assuming that they will be the same size what my Speedcross -6.5. But they were not; they were way bigger and wider. So, account for the size if ordering on line. I returned them without any problem. This model is generally too wide for me; I went back to ordering Speedcross. Yes, 6.5 :)

I bought the gore tex version for every day walking/hiking in the rainy PNW weather. My feet didn't get wet all winter. These have enough cushion for my bad knee, plenty of room in the toe, and solid treads for slippery trails. I bought the non gore tex version for dryer months. I have a medium width foot and was looking for something sturdy, besides Hokas with a bit of cushion, that's not so wide in the sole. For me, Salomon's fit better than any other brand and are of great quality. I'm counting on these to carry me well on spring hikes in the Azores! More review later maybe... Also would like to see more neutral colors in running shoes.

I just took my new Thundercrosses for a 13 mile trail run and I don't have a single blister. The ride is smooth and traction is amazing! I ran through mud, over rocks and roots, climbs, descents, single track and more and my feet flew. Without the worry of slipping or tripping, I reached a pace that normally I can't get on mountain trails! Highly recommend. If I could name one critique of this shoe, it would be that I'd like a little more cushion in the heel cup, and a little higher drop. I may try out another Salomon for my next pair, but I will keep Thundercross in my collection for technical trail runs, especially in wet slippery conditions!

I've had issues in the past with Salomon being too narroweven though my feet are super narrowand too rigid. The combination of those two caused hot spots and discomfort. Along comes Thundercross, and wow! So comfy! So capable! And my feet don't feel cramped. I am so, SO happy with these shoes! Salomon nailed it with these! I will be buying more. No question. :)

I've had these trainers for a month or so now and they have very quickly become my favourites. They can handle a good mix of UK terrain and feel pretty stable. They have good lugs to grip, but not so much so that they are skittish on rock like fell shoes with studs.

Put straight on and went for 10 mile walk. Felt like walking on air all the way. Can't comment on durability as only worn 4 times. I am size 7 and ordy7.5 which was perfect

The second I put these on, I didn't want to take them off! They are so comfy and have the perfect amount of snug fit but also extra room in the toe box. They also feel super grippy and like they are great for long distances too. I am going on a trail running trip and I'm so excited to test these out as my main shoe for a variety of terrain.

If the Salomon Ultra Glide and the Speedcross had a baby it would be the Thundercross. With confidence, I took these out of the box and went for a 3-hour mixed surface run. The fit and ride were amazing and I am eager to continue to put these shoes to the test on dirt roads, burly technical terrain and everything in betwee.

Bringing the THUNDER! If you like the ultra glide for that cushion but wish it had juuust a little more lug and grip, look no further! I've taken these out on a few runs and really like how they respond on Rocky and sandy terrain! They're a great pair to add to the lineup! I will also add I'm generally a 10.5 and got a 10 in these (accidentally) and am surprised at the fit! Still room for my toes!

Gave these bad boys a tour of the French Alps and I can say the mix of energy foam and speed cross lugs made for a comfort ride across technical and mix terrain. Super comfy but also very responsive for any adventure I put them through!

Meaning, the shoe fits appropriately on the sides, but is a 1/2 inch too long--so there is no going to a half size smaller. I'm a women's 7.5 and purchased a 6.5 and it's not lining up. The second pair... with the slow ship and return, it's now been over a month to try two pairs of shoes, both inaccurately sized again--what a disappointment? I've asked where the shoes are being made, but clearly the consistency is lost somewhere in the chain of production for such disparaging results. Moving on to something else. (Again...)
