I use these mittens on my cold morning runs. They are well built, effective and a good value

Great for active outdoor activities not super warm unless moving.

I got these for a Christmas present for my husband who wanted mittens for the winter up ahead. He is very happy with them! After putting them on he said they fit well and he can tell they will be very warm. He wanted mittens that were warm but not bulky and these are perfect. It's too soon to tell on the durability. When I had a question about the item when shopping online, the customer service was very helpful. I hope to get Smartwool mittens for myself someday, too!

Haven't used yet; but, they appears to be warm.

Love the gloves, they're warm and comfy to wear. My only criticism would be the lack of touch screen capability.

Been looking for anything to keep my fingers warm on sub-zero winter hikes & runs. Finally! These are amazing. And so light weight. Not bulky! You like outdoor winter activities? You need these.

My hands froze for 2 hours while ringing bells for a service agency in bitter windy weather. I looked for mittens and found these. They are perfect for wind and cold!

These are lightweight, yet very warm!

I use them for running. They keep my hands warm but not to hot. I have Raynauds so they are perfect for cold weather running.

Buy these. Great warm mittens. My step dad who has some health issues and is always cold. He lives in these gloves

Perfect performance mittens! I broke my wrist and can't get a glove to fit. They are warm, stylish and sized right!

I had been on the search for a less bulky mitten for hiking and other activities. These are just the ticket. Won't keep me warm on the coldest of days, but should be perfect for activities in the cooler spring and fall months.

I had the thinner version of these (which were convertible mittens with glove fingers inside) and liked those but wanted something warmer. These are it! They are thicker but not bulky, and I like the overall shape and look. Bonus: the inside-hand surface allows for loud, unmuffled clapping, which came in *handy* while spectating my kids' recent outdoor school events. Can't wait to see how they perform deeper into winter.

General warmth

Great fall gloves. Wind resistant and good weight for fall. I ordered according to the size chart and had to size up twice to get the right fit because the mitts are on the narrow side. Thank goodness returns were free.

These fit just fine- a size 7 hand in a medium mitten. I have the glove/convertible mittens by smartwool and was looking for something warmer. These are a tiny bit warmer, but not enough to be the right solution for me.

The Smartloft Mittens are of exceptional quality as expected, but they are not what I expected in terms of warmth. I may have misunderstood the cold rating, but then the description could have/should have been clearer. The lining is thin and not appropriate for a cold Chicago winter.

I love all things Smartwool. I find the craftsmanship to be really nice, and the wool itself is very soft. I’m only docking a star because the elastic at the wrist is a little tight. I’m hoping it’ll loosen up over time. For this reason, I would recommend sizing up one size.

I have the smartwool glove/mitten combo and I was hoping that these would be a bit warmer, but they seem to be about the same. They are fine for a 40 degree day but my hands got cold when it was hovering around freezing.

I am in the mid-Atlantic and in low 40’s at night my finger tips were immediately cold and remained cold in these. My search for warm mittens continues.

Disappointed. Too thin will no insulation.
